[Mission/Prayer Log] In this world and the next..
Who: Goten and Izumo
What: Mission 11
When: July 4thish
Where: Currently the Far Shore
[It's hard to miss some of the strange distracting decorations that are popping up all over the Far Shore. Goten understands a temple or two but the more time that passes the more decorations he's seeing. The colorful decorations are the only reason he's sticking to the ground and not flying. There's also a fair number of shinki putting up said decorations in preparation. It's only by word of mouth in passing that he catches on to something about some princess goddess lady called Tanabata-Orihime and there's too much for her to do. Whoever this Princess Tanabata is, she must be really important if this many people are making a fuss over her.
When questions arise there are a handful of people Goten goes to. Aymeric, Kairi, Hakkai, Izumo and Yukine in no particular order outside of ease of access. Seeing as he's already had plans to meet up with Izumo at one of the empty temples for training, Izumo is the first pick this time around. Kicking off the ground, he blasts off to their meeting place as quickly as he can. In coming half-saiyan child.]
Izumooooooo! Izumooo!

Izumooooooo! Izumooo!
no subject
There is a blink, slightly curious as he waits for Goten until he arrives.]
Goten, there you are.
[Why the rush?]
no subject
Izumo! Have you seen all the stuff going up around here?
no subject
He's barely even fazed anymore by the tackle-hugs. It's something he expects from the younger shinki now whenever they meet up with each other.]
I have. They're setting up everything for Tanabata.
no subject
Training together has been the best idea ever, or at least Goten thinks so.]
Yeah! I heard about that! That princess lady needs some help or something. Can we go check it out? I donno what it's all about but maybe there will be a big party with lots of food soon.
[At least he's hoping. But at the bare minimum they can help out a princess for a little while---then come back and train!]
no subject
At least he's gotten tougher now, so he doesn't really rect to it much other than anticipate it.]
I don't see why we can't. [Izumo loosens his hold on the younger shink a bit.] Tanabata is usually a big festival that happens in the summer.
no subject
Lets go then! Um, I donno where she is but I bet if we follow some of the people putting up stuff or see where they're coming from we'll find her.
[He grins jumping out of Izumo's arms and lands on the ground. Goten quickly reaching up to grab his one of Izumo's hands in an attempt to pull him in the direction]
This way!
no subject
We probably will or we can ask them, explaining that we'd like to offer our help.
[But yes, let's go help out this Tanabata princess.
Though, he briefly wonders if the princess in general is actually Orihime given how famous she is when it comes to Tanabata.]
Just lead the way, Goten.
no subject
[Goten grins as he pulls him along. The workers are pretty friendly but just overall busy doing things to get everything ready in time. The few that the shinki duo ask do point them in the right direction though. Some place by the Amanogawa. Goten doesn't really understand but its easy enough to find with Izumo and the people pointing them in the right direction. It's when they come to a small tea-house shaped house-looking place that Goten tugs on Izumo's hand and points with his free hand.]
That's it right?
no subject
[Well, it's good to know that the workers are friendly enough to give them directions to Amanogawa. He keeps a hold on Goten's hand though as they walk, eventually focusing his gaze on what appears to be Orihime's place. A blink and he nods.]
That's it. Let's see if we can talk to her. [Barging in to a goddess' home isn't exactly a good idea, after all.]
no subject
She doesn't even seem to notice their approach. ]
no subject
Izumo, hey, that's gotta be her right? She looks super important in those weird clothes! C'mon!
[And still hand and hand he's leading the older shinki along to Orihime's small house, walking through a few of her attendants.]
Hello, Excuse me miss!
[He lifts his free hand to wave. Goten knows that he's small so it's the easiest way to get the attention of someone else.]
You're Princess Tanabata, right? I'm Goten and this is Izumo! Hiya!
no subject
[Izumo doesn't really get to say much else, allowing Goten to lead him over. He eyes the house a bit, bowing his head a bit in apology to the attendants for his energetic friend.
Though, he does lift his head a bit as soon as Goten does the introductions, giving Orihime a smile.]
Hello, Orihime-san. Pardon our intrusion.
no subject
"Wait your turn to speak to Lady Orihime!"
[There's a clamor of agreement from the other attendants.]
Perhaps their... intrusion will be a brief matter.
[The attendants gape up at her and start to question her, but she speaks over top of them.]
I am the Lady Orihime and we are preparing for Tanabata at a crucial time. What is the nature of your interrupting our preparations?
[She's firm, but at least she's not turning them away. The attendants are looking bitter about it, though.]
no subject
Still he leading Izumo through the crowd of attendants not losing a beat. They're not here to see them anyway. Stopping just in front of the porch, Goten grins up at her.]
I saw all the stuff getting hung up for the festival and some of the people doing it looked pretty busy and tired. Izumo and I wanted to help too. I betcha it'll go a whole lot faster too and save a bunch of time. Right, Izumo?
[tug, tug]
no subject
Izumo isn't too surprised by the reaction they've gotten and he simply gives them an apologetic smile as he allows Goten to continue to lead him. He's a bit surprised that Orihime hasn't sent them away, though, so he gives a little bow of the head in respect to her.
Goddess or not, Izumo still feels like he needs to show respect to her since they did interrupt her while she was in the midst of talking to her attendants.]
That's right. I apologize for interrupting, but my friend here really wanted to help out with the planning and decorations if you would allow us to. He's very excited about it.
no subject
Young man... Izumo, was it? I appreciate your younger brother's eagerness and energy, but this event is extremely important to me... to everyone in the Far Shore.
[The attendants nod.]
And I cannot be responsible for the welfare of a child, god or shinki, while also arranging for the needs of these fine decorators. Perhaps another time...
no subject
[Goten frowns at her, the chuckles of her attendants not helping in the slightest. His cheeks pout out before he lets go of Izumo's hand to float up and over to stand on the porch she's sitting on.]
You don't gotta be responsible for me, princess lady. We just wanted to help with the festival. We live here too so we want it all to be great to. Izumo is super detailed too. You're not even gonna let us try? We're trying to help you.
no subject
[Izumo reaches out, grabbing Goten and pulling him back a bit.
Even so, he looks at Orihime, ignoring her attendants and his expression softens a bit.]
I understand that this is an extremely important event, but we would still like to offer you our help if we can.
[Izumo gives her a smile. While he understands and if she rejects them again, then he won't push. Goten, on the other hand, might be a little harder to persuade.]
Even if it just some smaller tasks, we'd like to be able to help lift some of the burden off your shoulders.
no subject
There are thousands of delicate paper cranes that need carried out of my home. They are not heavy, but they are extremely important - and fragile.
[Lifting her head slightly, she appraises Izumo in particular to see about trusting him with this.]
One in such a position as mine can't afford much, but I have some charms leftover from last year's decorations in a box that I would be willing to give to each of you - as a token of my thanks. That is, if you can carry those cranes for me and not bend a single wing among the flocks.
[The attendants start murmuring again.]
If that task is accomplished, there are perhaps other heavier paper decorations that these gentleman will need help moving - but we must first finish our discussion about them. In that time, perhaps you will be able to transport the smaller figures first and leave us to our business?
no subject
Everyone is being rude so why isn't Izumo upset too? He's too nice. But Goten lets him do the talking since he seems to know more about what he's doing. Besides, the Orihime lady seems to want to talk to him more. Maybe she likes Izumo?
But it's when Orihime does finally give them something to do that Goten brightens up again. That sounds easy! Super easy. He grins a bit and tilts his head to look at Izumo.]
We can do that easy, huh Izumo?
no subject
The day where Goten sees Izumo's true colors will be interesting.A dip in the head, and a smile.]
It would be our honor, Lady Orihime. [He may sound a little apologetic for Goten, but he knows Goten really does mean well
Izumo looks at the young shinki he currently still has in his hold.]
We can, but remember, we can't damage a single one of them, Goten.
no subject
Then you may proceed.
[And she lowers her hand, but she already indicated where the smaller cranes were insider her house, after all.]
We eagerly await your return.
[She says even though the attendants hardly look it, but they all go back to their discussion.]
no subject
[They're just...paper cranes. Why they're so important and why there has to be so many is beyond him. Seems like a waste of time. But Izumo and him did come here to help so he'll do as he's told, even if it makes no sense.
When Orihime gives them okay to proceed, the only thing keeping Goten from dashing into her home that second is Izumo. He wiggles a bit in the older shinki's hold, brows furrowing a bit in confusion as he glances back at him.
What's the big deal? They can carry stuff way better then her rude attendants can. If anything, he's more eager to prove it now. Goten is raring to go.]
C'mon, let's go! She said we can help.
no subject
While he himself isn't entertained with the attendants, he knows better than to start something. So, he merely gestures for Goten to follow him to grab the crates, handing the young shinki a couple of crates filled with the paper cranes.
Once he's sure the other is alright with handling those, Izumo picks up some himself.]
Alright, let's go.
Mission Accomplished, assuming they do the second round of helping too
She'll definitely lift her head if they come back though. She's not fully convinced they will.]
no subject
Looking from the crates in his hands, then Izumo's and back to the ones still piled on the ground]
Ah! I got an idea! C'mon! I know how we can do this super fast!
[Goten's face lights as he grins at Izumo before practically jogging out of the house with the crates. Hoping off the porch, he has to regain his balance for a second as one of the crates slides. But it's all good! Nothing falls. He tilts his head back and looks to the sky.]
Nimmmmbus! If you're not too busy with Kairi, I need your help!
[He calls loudly, paying no mind to the attendants. It's not long before the yellow fluff ball of a cloud comes shooting down from the sky. It circles around the small tea house before skidding to a halt in front of Goten. Honestly, he's a bit disappointed to not see Kairi sitting there but that's okay! More room for them!]
Thanks, Nimbus.
[He smiles and places the crates on the cloud. The crates don't wiggle or anything, just sit there effortlessly. The cloud doesn't seem to mind either. He heads back into the house for more and waves for Izumo to do the same.]
I think Nimbus can hold a lot of them. So instead of going back and forth a bunch of times, this should be better, right? We still gotta carry some though!
