Missions Info: By responding to her video post, your character earns the right to ignore the Follower/Exp total requirement for the sake of logging Mission 11 or 12. This includes bringing a small group with them per the normal Mission guidelines.

[As he hears the sound of Orihime coming around the house, Shun turns in that direction immediately, looking over her briefly. He had already seen her in that video, but meeting people in person is vastly different, and Shun likes to have a gauge of them from that rather than just from a recording.

A little belatedly, as if just remembering he's supposed to be at least somewhat polite, he inclines his head slightly.]

I prefer Kurosaki. I don't use my god title if I don't have to. [His tone is a little brusque, but stops short of outright impolite.] And I don't like wasting other people's time. That includes not showing up at a time I said I would.

[Granted, he hates wasting his own time just as much - it's more of a general sentiment than a matter of consideration.]

[She nods to him. He hadn't indicated earlier that he wanted to be called anything else, but she's fine with using a name that he prefers.]

Mr. Kurosaki, then. I hope your visit will likewise not be a waste of your time. What is it you seek of me?

[Cutting to the chase, after all.]

[There's a brief moment before he answers where Shun crosses his arms - a motion of reservation from someone who doesn't particularly like openly sharing information on himself. But he wouldn't have sought her out without reason to, so he might as well get on with it.]

It's been years since I've had anything to do with formal clothes. I thought talking to someone with as much experience as you'd have about it might give me something I'd be more comfortable with than trying to find it myself.

[So, in a sense, he's here because he has some kind of respect for the position she occupies and the opportunity had presented itself.]

[She nods.]

I understand your position, as do many others. It is much like the difference between kimono and yukata, I think, if you are familiar with them?

[Either way, she steps up onto the porch and pushes open the sliding door to reveal a kimono on one mannequin and a yukata on the other, both fairly ordinary.]

A yukata has a similar shape to the kimono... and yet by layering and layering again there kimono's luxurious effect is achieved. I wonder if there might be somewhere in between the most formal of attire you are accustomed to and the less formal... a "two-layer" sort of outfit instead of a "seven-layer" outfit.

[Even if it's been a good long few years since Shun's worn either of the garments himself, he does still remember the general details of them, and he gives a short nod even as she unveils the two mannequins. It's a somewhat reassuring start that both look fairly standard.

Having to deal with less layers sounds fine to him, though, and he considers her words even if it's a little obvious he's having a lot more trouble thinking of what the alternate options could be.]

I'd prefer something in the middle to something entirely formal. Having so many layers in an outfit that I couldn't fight in it if I needed to could be a problem for more than just me. [Priorities.]

I certainly hope there will be no skirmishing at the festival. You are a war god, though?

[She's not very familiar with them but it'd be better than a god of calamity, at the very least.]

What is your primary method of attacking, Mr. Kurosaki?

Funerary god. But with the situation as it is here, it'd be naive to expect no risk of some kind of threat coming into play at a formal event, even if it isn't this one.

[He might say he isn't a war god, but he definitely speaks with the surety and wariness of someone used to that kind of field. Not to mention the expectation of combat where most other people wouldn't place it.]

Hand-to-hand, legs more than arms, but I do carry a dagger as well.

So more of a foot-to-foot style then.

[He might wonder if she's trying to make a joke, the placid look on her face not giving it away. Meanwhile she's trying to think of options for him.]

[It does make him wonder, but given how humourless Shun is by and large, he merely raises a brow slightly at the remark. In any case, he doesn't really have anything to add to it whether it's serious or a joke, so he merely considers himself what options there might be.]

I suppose that's not so much of an issue with traditional footwear, at least. Even if they'd be hard to fight in, they're also easy to remove. [Whereas any kind of covered formal shoe would likely become annoying as hell to him within the space of a few seconds of trying to kick anything in it.]

[She suspected he was that sort, but had to try anyway. It amused her to say it, and that was the important thing.]

Perhaps a loose hakama, but with a western vest instead of an overcoat...

[She sketches something fairly modern for him, but draws a vest over the front instead of the jacket.]

[As it becomes obvious she's sketching something down, Shun leans over a little to look at it. Being as unfamiliar with clothing as he is these days, it takes him a few moments to identify the different parts of the outfit, but once he does, he seems faintly interested. It's definitely not a combination he would have come up with himself, and it seems to meet his requirements.]

I might need a reminder on how to put something like that on, but I don't see any problems with it.

Oh there is nothing special to it, honestly! Just pants you cinch up and a shirt that goes on with a vest over top of it. Three things and some nice shoes of your choice.

[At least it sounds pretty simple to her. On the other hand, she's not about to make something he doesn't like.]

[Sounds simple enough. Or at least, a hell of a lot less complicated than it could be. In a situation like this, Shun will take what he can get, and if what he can get is at least less frustrating than the alternatives, he'll go with it.]

Sounds like it'll work. It's a lot less to screw up or get impatient with, and my main concern was whether I could fight in it anyway.

Very well. If you would like me to take your measurements, I should be able to have a simple garb such as this ready for you tomorrow in time for the festival.

[It'll be a rush job, but not a poor quality job either.]

It will not require the many bangles or enhancements so many gods request, after all.

[Well, Shun wasn't that enamoured with having his measurements taken the first time, but despite the quiet sigh that comes with it, he inclines his head.]

Just try not to be too sudden about your movements when you're near me. [It's not a threat, it's a caution, because Orihime hasn't been too bad to talk to and she definitely doesn't deserve something like him accidentally retaliating against an innocent motion that just came too suddenly.

The notion of bangles and enhancements gets a faint scoff out of him.] I'm not that kind of person, though I'd be surprised if that wasn't obvious by now.

[She smiles.]

Fear not. I will not be directly near you at all.

[For this is Orihime's power: minor telekinesis of sewing and weaving tools. Her head moves slightly as the tape measurer flutters into the air, but her hands do not and she stays where she's standing. The floating tape measurer doesn't move that fast either, per his request, but she takes out a sheet of paper and a brush to start annotating what measurements it does find.]

[As much as Shun is tempted to remark on that, it does make sense for someone with a role like Orihime's, so despite the quirk of a brow as the tape measure rises, he doesn't comment on it directly. He does, however, spread his arms so she has an easier time of getting at what she needs to.]

I suppose it would be naive to think you haven't dealt with people with the same kinds of problems before.

[If the Heavens are at conflicts like their current one with any regularity, they'd have their fair share of gods with combat-related issues, he imagines.]

[She smiles.]

They are the ones I deal with the most often, in fact. They go through their fine clothing faster than any other sort of god, you know.

[Because they won't stop to change out of what she's made for them just to start a scuffle.]

[She writes a few more lines as the tape measurer goes around his waist and legs.]

[Sounds about right to Shun, and he gives a faint snort that might be attempting amusement.] Not surprising. If you're the kind of person who leaps into combat on instinct, you're not going to be prioritising saving your clothes.

[Says the guy whose normal coat has a hem shredded beyond all reason from it getting dragged through a war zone.

Though Shun still twitches a little at the contact of the tape measure, he's reasonably okay about it, even standing his legs apart a bit as the tape gets further down. Whatever gets the process done quicker.]

[Orihime nods at his assertion.] Precisely.

[The tape measurer pulls away then, and Orihime sets her paper down for the ink to dry.]

Would you like to wait, or shall I send the garment with an attendant in the morning?

You can send it in the morning. [While Shun likes things to be prompt, he really doesn't feel this needs to be that prompt, especially if it involves him waiting around.

With a short nod, he steps back, not taking his eyes off her yet.] If you have nothing else to add, I'm leaving. You must still have a hell of a lot to do before tomorrow evening.

[Just judging by the amount of visible preparation he's seen happening for Tanabata around here in the last week.]

[She gives a short bow.]

Not terribly much, now - otherwise I would not have offered in the first place.

[He'll get an attendant bearing his attire in the morning.]
