Every morning, after she's finished with her training, the dutiful shinki heads out of the courtyard, with various articles of food in hand—physical offerings to those spirits who hover around the edges of their domain, and for the animals still alive who look for a place to call home. This morning isn't at all unlike every other morning.
Except, of course, for the presence of a rather strange-looking shadow floating overhead. Bobbing about like some sort of bird just learning how to fly, Lux notices it and blinks. A new visitor? It was awfully big, wasn't it? ]
