[ Open ] With new power comes...

Where: Nanshe's newly-discovered Temple
What: Nanako has discovered she has god powers after all! Now it's led her to finally discovering she has a temple here and it gives her the perfect place to try out some of the new things she can do.


A; To Find Shelter

[ It's been a little over a week since Nanako had discovered that she did indeed have a god power of her very own. Even if it had taken her awhile to get the hang of it. It was still taking her a while to get the hang of it, but today she's taken a break from practicing in the backyard of Souji's temple to go investigate something for herself.

Because she's felt a pull that's been growing stronger over the past few days, insistent and niggling and new. Since it hadn't faded or gone away, she'd decided this morning to follow it and see what she found.

Which is how she ends up at the base of a mountain not that long a walk away from Souji's temple. A mountain which she's very sure she's never seen before. She thinks? But there's a walled gate around its base that feels vaguely familiar to her, even if she doesn't know why. The gate stands wide open and welcoming, however, so she proceeds inside, heading up a long stone staircase to the shrine she finds at the top, brightly colored with banners waving and surrounded by a hillside full of blooming azalea bushes. The shrine itself is set beside a huge lake full of fat and lazy fish swimming within its depths.

And the more she explores of this place, the more certain she is - she's finally found Nanshe's temple. Her temple. Delighted, she starts poking into every inch of the shrine she can find, exploring all over it and seeing everything hidden within this new place. Eventually, she'll go looking for her brother and Homura, wanting to share with them her newest discovery, but if anyone else happens by in the meantime, she might excitedly show them around as well. ]

B; To Rise

[ The discovery of her very own temple means one thing for certain - it's given her a wide open space to keep practicing her new abilities. And since she now knows how to look for that tiny flicker of power that seems to blossom brighter each time she uses it, it's easy to flit back and forth between normal and the form her god power seems to give her - that of a halo and tiny wings and a bright cheerful glow that surrounds her every time it manifests.

She hasn't figured out yet if her power will allow her to fight evil spirits any better - especially when she doesn't know how to fight in the first place. But there are other uses to this power she's learning about. Like the fact that the tiny feathered wings on her back actually work, and as long as she can keep her focus steady, she can even manage to float for increasingly longer periods of time.

So of course this is what she's practicing, once she finds her own private mountaintop filled with colorful flowers, trees, and banners. Although it's with dubious success at first, she's determined to get better at it.

So, throughout various points of the day - and possibly the next few days - there's a tiny girl with angel wings floating, bobbing, and sometimes zooming around her shrine and occasionally even venturing outside her temple to see how far she can fly and how long she can manage it. Sorry, friends, her control isn't all that great yet... ]

[Even if Shun wasn't as attentive to changes in the surrounding area as he is, he's pretty sure it would be near impossible for anyone to miss the fact that a mountain has apparently turned up overnight. Since he'd been planning to head out on a morning patrol anyway - slightly later than usual, but late is still better than not at all - he heads up in that direction first, figuring he might as well get the lay of the place early on.

It's not too surprising to see the gates at its base, seemingly marking it as a temple ground, but it's absolutely the wrong time of the week for any new gods to have shown up, so that only piques his interest more. He's a bit more cautious about heading in, but he goes ahead and does it anyway, keeping an eye out for any movement or potential threat.

It's not long after he reaches the top of the staircase and steps out into the shrine area that he hears movement and tenses in preparation for an attack, but it's only a moment later that he notices and recognises what the source is, and the wariness drops in favour of mild surprise.]

Nanako?

[ Well, it's sort of an attack because the moment she hears her name and sees who's come to visit already, Nanako flings herself towards him with an excited cry and a wide smile. ]

Shun-oniichan! Look! Look! I found my temple!

[As Nanako starts to explore the buildings of her temple proper she might hear the soft sound of hooting. An investigation reveals a simple large white owl sitting on a window sill, and its deep blue eyes watch her curiously.]

[Hey, wassup, just an owl hanging around totally inconspicuously. It doesn't seem bothered by her presence at all.]

[ She's discovering lots of interesting things here today and the sound of hooting certainly catches her attention, having her following the sound to the source.

She blinks up at the large white owl sitting on her windowsill and blinks back at it in surprise and delight. ]

Hello. Do you live here too? [ Because talking to an owl is perfectly normal, right? But she inches closer to peer up at it, wondering if it will let her get close. ]

[As usual, Homura is quietly settled at home. There are now slightly less cats out and about but she's on the couch with one of them.

If Nanako isn't about to go down to the Near Shore, and there shouldn't be any ayakashi running around in the Heavens... she's mostly safe.

But she does home that Nanako tells her if she's ever intending to go down.]

Did you have a good time?

[ The exuberance with which Nanako bounces into the room and then in place before Homura should be answer enough. But just in case it's not, she leans forward, hands perched on the edge of the couch as she beams at her in excitement. ]

Homura-chan, I found it!

[It's almost missed... That little glimpse of something whizzing by. Sora whips his head around and tries to see just what exactly that was. Curious, he goes up the stairs to a temple he's never seen before or been to before to see if he can find whatever that was that fluttered by.

He walks up to see a beautiful temple and keeps searching for the flying sight.]

I swear I saw a fairy... [Sora mumbles under his breath.]

[ There might be a giggle coming from somewhere behind you and to your left as Nanako peeks out from behind one of the azalea bushes a moment before she - a little unsteadily - bobs towards him, tiny wings on her back flapping to control her approach. ]

Sora! Hi!

[Izumo sees her and at first thinks it's just a bird or even Goten, but upon closer inspection--

He recognizes that tiny form.]

Nanako?

[ There is a Tiny incoming, clearly in high spirits, even if she bobbles a bit in the air, arms out to try and balance herself as she swoops towards him. ]

[Celty was getting used to her new life after death, but it still felt a bit wrong to her. Not the idea of being a tool for a god to use to fight monsters, or even the part about being dead. Those were things she had shuffled off into place fairly quickly. The problem was that she felt wrong just walking around. She had a motorcycle helmet. She was supposed to be a 'headless horseman', not a 'headless pedestrian.'

'How am I even going to be able to afford...AH!'

Her thoughts cut off as the winged girl came flying down to sidewalk level. She raises her arms instinctively, either to block or catch as needed. And hopefully keep her own helmet from being knocked off again. ]

[ So Nanako is still getting the hang of this control thing and sometimes she's better at it than others. Now is.... probably not one of those times as she wobbles in the air, listing from one side to the other in sharp contrast. She doesn't even realize she's heading for a person until said person is right there and then there are hands and flailing and a quiet squeak of surprise as she's caught.

Or, well. Mostly caught. She sort of ends up clinging to the large helmet a bit like a spider monkey and peering down at her own reflection in it to blink owlishly a moment in surprise. ]

Ahh? Oops... I didn't see you. Sorry?

[Barry's just walking along when suddenly, a tiny flies out of nowhere. Looks like Nanako's not that used to maneuvering with those cute little angel wings just yet. Thankfully, Barry's a big guy, so instead of getting bowled over he manages to reach out and catch her before they both go tumbling to the ground.]

Whoa, hey!

[ Nanako is giggling in exhilaration because that had probably been more fun on her end than Barry's but she beams up at him in delight, letting herself be caught because so far that was an easier way to stop than trying to land. ]

Hi, Barry! Sorry, are you okay?

[Kaya is feeling quite distracted that morning, her thoughts and feelings all over the place because of recent events. She's on the way to buy some groceries when a winged shadow that seems too large to be a bird looms above her. She looks up, squinting at the sunshine and struggling to see. Oh, please don't be an ayakashi!

Luckily, it's not. It's definitely not.]

...Nanako?!

[ The shinki's name is drawn out on the breeze as Nanako circles back around and then carefully (but still a little unsteadily) swoops down towards her to come to a floating stop a few feet away. Congratulations, you're the first person she's managed to stop in time for! ]

[It didn't take Naoto long at all to notice Nanako had started routinely disappearing from the Izanagi temple during the day. At first, she didn't think too much of it. Perhaps Nanako was simply running an errand or going to go see a friend. She would return home before it ever got too late out; yet, it didn't quite sit well with Naoto that the young girl seemed to be going out without a guardian or supervision. And so on day four, Naoto decided to tail Nanako to both make sure she was okay, and because Naoto was by now frankly curious about what it was Nanako kept venturing off to do with such regularity.]

[Arriving at the walled gate, Naoto takes a moment to marvel at it's size and beauty. Venturing inside, she's struck by how even more beautiful the landscape is within the wall perimeter. There were such vibrantly colored flowers and trees, and the water of the shrine's ponds was a beautiful, crystal blue.]

This must be Nanako-chan's shrine.

[That would certainly make sense if this has indeed been where the young girl had been disappearing off to all this time. Did Souji and Kanji know about this? Was that why they were okay with Nanako venturing out on her own during the day?]

[Before Naoto can contemplate on this further, a shadow passes overhead that catches her attention. Looking up, she immediately jumps at the sight. Was Nanako-chan flying?! Naoto opens her mouth for a moment about to call out to her, but she thinks better of it. Worrying that perhaps calling out to her would cause Nanako to lose focus which sounded disastrous in the context of flight. And so, Naoto will chase after Nanako on foot, only calling out to her once she's safely back on the ground and Naoto's able to catch up.]

Nanako-chan! Wha- what-- [Give Naoto a second to catch her breath and organize her thoughts. She seems to be deciding on how exactly to react to what she's just witnessed.] That was incredible! Have you always been able to do that?

Eeep!

[ Nanako gives a startled jolt when someone calls her name from behind her, jumping guiltily because she hadn't realized there was anyone else here.

When she spots Naoto, though, her smile comes back and she lifts a hand in an exuberant wave. ]

Naoto-oneechan, hi! I didn't know you were here!

[Being one of the only people that can fly, Goten isn't use to looking out for anyone else. As he's soaring through the sky, doing loops around the various temples and probably on his way to Izumo's it's then that he nearly slams right into Nanako. He manages to blink, eyes going wide as he slams on the brakes when she zooms by in front of him]

Whoa!

[His arms flail a bit when he stops, doing a double take]

W-what?

[That had to be the biggest bird he'd ever seen....wait a second-]

[ Well, at least Goten's better at stopping than Nanako is, because otherwise that could have been bad.

As it is, Nanako manages to circle around and has slowed by the time she realized who she'd almost collided with. She hovers there a few feet away, wings flapping as she bobs unsteadily and shoots him a bright smile. ]

Hi, Goten!

[...Yukina's hands are folder in front of her, but she's trying not to be seen as she hovers below the hovering Nanako. She sort of expects Nanako to fall, and so plans to follow her in case she needs to be healed, but also. Also she is afraid that disrupting Nanako concentration will simply cause her to fall sooner.

So she is rather persistently trotting along below, occasionally giving a worried glance up, and getting closer and closer each time...]

[ It takes Nanako a while to notice that she has a follower, so immersed was she in keeping airborne. But when she catches sight of the other girl out of the corner of her eye, she turns towards her and then bobs down to greet her in person, especially when she looks worried. ]

Yukina! Hi!

[ Souji is, for once, minding his own business. After they managed to home a lot of the cats - though not enough, so he's going to have to make a trip over to the Near Shore with them, especially to the cat cafe - he's taking stock of everyone and everything that's still at his temple. But even with the fact he's been busy, it does not escape his notice that Nanako has been coming and going all day.

He finishes with his upkeep of his cat guests, and comes out to find what his sister is up to, eyebrow raised as he looks around to see if he can't find her downstairs. ]

[ Luckily for him, she was also looking for him at the same time and comes bouncing in the front door as he comes downstairs.

Her expression brightens when she spots him. ] Souji-oniichan! Are you busy?

[ This temple is definitely new.... and he'd have been solely concerned about that, a new landmark on his way to the School, when he sees... someone in the air and then she gets a little closer and he recognizes her. ]

NANAKO!?

[ Why is she... how is she... Okay she hasn't crashed YET but he's running towards her now, concerned she will at any moment. ]

[ Completely oblivious to his concern, Nanako swoops in a loop at the sound of his voice and then - with a rather alarming wobble - starts to dive down towards him. ]

Hi, Yoon! Look what I can do!

[ Tsuna is milling around, not really sure what to do with himself. Until, he sees a girl flying with a small pairs of wings and a halo hovering above her head. It's kind of cute. He wonders if angels exist here, and makes a note to ask around.

He watches her, noticing how she starts to lower towards the ground. At one point, it seems as if she's falling and fast, Tsuna panics. Running full speed to try and catch her. Of course, he trips over his own feet, his arms still outstretched to catch the little girl. Though instead his back breaks her fall as they both fall to the ground.

Tsuna groans out as his face hits the floor on top of everything.]

[ Okay so that.... really hadn't gone as planned at all. Landings were a lot harder than staying in the air, it turns out. But this one had landed with her all but falling on top of someone after colliding with them out of nowhere when she hadn't even realized anyone was there.

Oops?

Staring down at the back of a head of hair, she tries to figure out of that belongs to anyone she knows, but it's difficult to tell from this angle.

Which is why she reaches out and pokes tentatively at the back of the person's head. ]

Hello? Are you alive?

[ Dokugakuji's walking by minding his own business when he sees the flying little lady and actually laughs out loud, teleporting over near her. ]

Well! So much for those teleporting games, huh!

[ He chuckles down below her. ]</small Nice wings!

[ Hey! It's you! The guy with all the big names, none of which she can remember. Mostly. ]

Mister Kishty! Hi! [ She swoops down towards him in delight. ] We can still play teleporting games, though! I've been practicing!

[ Kairi's out jogging when she wanders by the new temple and takes a look up at it. What a gorgeous place! When she sees Nanako, it doesn't occur to her that this is Nanako's temple, just that Nanako might have made another friend she's hanging out with, the same way she stays at Souji's temple a lot already. ]

Nanako! Hey! How's it going? Whose temple is this?

[ Nanako had been exploring the grounds and she glances up when she spots Kairi, lifting a hand in an exuberant wave. ]

Hi, Kairi! It's mine! Isn't it pretty?

B! (if this is too late let me know)

[ It's become something of a habit for her to feed the various animals that have come to call their modest little church home. Every morning, after she's finished with her training, the dutiful shinki heads out of the courtyard, with various articles of food in hand—physical offerings to those spirits who hover around the edges of their domain, and for the animals still alive who look for a place to call home. This morning isn't at all unlike every other morning.

Except, of course, for the presence of a rather strange-looking shadow floating overhead. Bobbing about like some sort of bird just learning how to fly, Lux notices it and blinks. A new visitor? It was awfully big, wasn't it? ]

You don't have to be a stranger you kn—

[ She expected a bird or something like that. Not. Well. ]

...What?

[ A fluttered blink, her arms still full of food and offerings, Lux is just going to stare at you a bit, Nanako. Because what in the world is she seeing right now another flying child?! ]

[ Nanako had sorta just.... caught a breeze to see where it takes her. Which is how she ends up overhead, still zigzagging back and forth as she soars. But the sight of Lux down below her catches her eyes and a moment later, she's zooming lower with a bright smile and a wave, her halo slipping sideways at the sudden veer of direction. ]
