[Closed] He started on the Broadway stage, the product of another age.
Who: Owain and Ksitigarbha
What: Sparring with Swords
When: July 12th at Dusk!
Where: The Park at The Far Shore
Warnings: Verbal Purple Prose and Sword Fighting
[Owain is waiting, wearing his equipment as the sun begins to set on the horizon. He's been out there posing for a good hour or more, wanting to get this right. He's wearing flexible, light armor, has a sword sheathed in his hand and an empty sheath on his belt. The empty sheath is a mystery to him and something he is not yet willing to discard.
Standing there, waiting for his sparring partner to arrive, he peers out through splayed fingers. The only reason he's been out here this long is because he's excited. He really does want to learn what his abilities are and why he's decked out like a swordsman. He doesn't want to dwell on his past, he just wants to see where he can take his future. All the bragging aside, he hasn't actually tested to see if he is any good. He just knows a sword feels comfortable and he's gone too deep on this character to back out now.
If he sucks at this, he's going to have to do some hardcore training because that's easier than just dropping this persona.]

Alright, so we going all out...
[He holds up Meji.]
Or should I be more cautious?
[He holds up the regular one.]

[He draws a steel sword. It is a quality sword even if it is not special in any other manner.
At least Owain's stance is solid.]

Time to see how good the guy's reflexes are.]

...then Owain's opponent vanishes.
It's only at the moment that the hilt catches his back that Owain manages to respond, lunging forward and spinning around with his sword drawn. He's fast but he's not fast or alert enough for that. Owain didn't even consider that a possibility.
Surprised turns to a grin.]
Are my eyes so untrained that you moved with pure speed or is there foul magics afoot?

[He pulls the hilt away from Owain's back.]
But it is something that gods can do that shinki can't. So in a real fight, that wouldn't be fair... and I doubt that any god will hold back because of it.
That's why I wanted you to experience it.

[As best as anyone could be ready for it he supposes. Teleporting or beyond comprehension speed is something he's just going to have to accept as a possiblity.]
Now, let's continue!

[And he comes at Owain again, a more direct approach this time - preparing for a block and hoping he can overbear the other man anyway.]
