The Far Shore has been dealing with a lot of space-time pulsating through the past week or so and everything is culminating on the night of the 15th, even though the Heavens are preparing for an all-out Obon bash. They had planned to have the celebration on the 15th itself, but Amaterasu asked to postpone a day due to the horrible feeling that is permeating the Far Shore.

And it turns out she was right to postpone everything. In fact, it will have to be postponed another whole month at this rate...



Before

Late in the day on July 15th, the new batch of shinki will arrive to a Far Shore with a thick, tense atmosphere. All night on the 15th it feels like something is about to happen - and it's difficult to tell whether that something will be good or bad. Any attempts to contact the management of the Far Shore have fallen on deaf, slightly harried ears and so everyone is left to their own devices to try and figure out why things are so tense.

July 16

Just after midnight, an explosive shock wave rips through the Far Shore, bringing on the age changes with it. Even the spirits of the Far Shore seem to be affected - for example, the library goblins are either toddling around on wobbly legs or are dragging themselves from place to place and looking decrepit. There are a few gods and shinki that seem to have been exceptions from the change, though it is not clear why.

July 17

Another wave of energy comes in the early morning of the 17th. Fewer people are affected this time and it seems to alter those people's ages a second time. There is no rhyme or reason to who is being affected further. Several of the library goblins have just dropped dead from severe old age. Oops.

Aftermath

Late on the 17th brings about one final burst from the energy that has been plaguing the Far Shore. For a short moment, every new temple glows with a soft light, seeming to beckon to their owners. But the light is gone quickly and everyone will find themselves back to normal with complete memories of everything that happened during their age adventures. The goblins that died, though, are still very dead. Looks like the library will need to get some new help soon.

[Souske blinks at the greeting and looks… down. For a moment, he’s thrown for a silent loop. Kairi? This is Kairi? He knows he’s aged down a fair bit, but he didn’t know people were getting aged down that much. She looks… he’s gonna guess four or five. Wow.

And apparently she… uh, doesn’t have her memories? Or does she just not recognize him? Color him confused but glad he hadn’t responded immediately. But how to respond? … Oh just wing something.]

Hi. Nice to meet you. I’m Sousuke. [He does get a little proud smile on his face though.] Aa. I’m a great swimmer.

Maybe we should try to find that house? Maybe there's someone who knows me there?

[With Shun by his side he feels everything will be okay if he goes back there.]

[Hajime's eyes sparkle behind her own cone as she sees that smile. It may be small but it's a huge achievement! He's HES SO CUTE. She's going to have to treat older Lavi to ice cream to it.]

[Well, this strange guy with a paper crown on his head catches this little boy's attention.]

There were people who knew me in mine, so I think there should be someone who knows you in yours. [Shun nods knowingly, like this is totally a thing he's seen many times before and not just as new to him as it is to Yuto.]

Do you remember which way you came from to get to here?

[Hak turns around at the sound of another boy's voice, and he tilts his head, not quite understanding what it is he's asking.]

Hakuwha village? [That sounds like his name! How cool is that!? A pause.] I'm new here! I don't really know my way around.

[Nnrrnngh. He's kind of lost, too.]

16th

[It's okay Yuto you already have her full attention. Hajime stares down at him, face lighting up as she makes incoherent squealing noise at the sight of her shinki being so ity bitty! She will help you and love you]

Y-Yuto...-chan!

[Yuto takes a step back, somewhat startled by the girl's reaction.]

Y-you know me?

Mm. It works pretty well, too.

[Lavi doesn't seem to mind the questions, patiently answering to Yuto as he looks through the rule book.

If they're playing while Lavi explains it to him, he'll show Yuto, too. Looking closely, there's a tiny smile on his face.]

[He doesn't seem to be focused on Hajime for once as he focuses on eating the ice cream.

Of course, being a kid, it's bound to get a little messy so he has some ice cream over his face.]

[As they play, Yuto gets a pretty good hang on the game really quickly and the moment he notices that small smile on Lavi's face, he smiles as well.]

It's a lot of fun, right?

Evening

[ He's wandering around, because his world has suddenly become smaller with the loss of his god. Itachi walked through a park, lost in his own mind... when he spotted a familiar shade of red hair. Well, Lavi was the only redhead he knew, but still. ]

[ As he approached, he noticed that... this boy was a lot smaller than the man he knew. He slowed down... but... even so... same green eye. Same eyepatch. But... this was a child. ]

[ A child who looked lost. ]

[ Itachi tilted his head, approaching slowly. When he was a decent distance away,
he crouched a bit in front of the bench, so he would be at Lavi's level... jus a little lower, to not be intimidating. Sort of how he approached a cat. ]

...Are you all right?

[He blinks once in surprise when Yuto asks him that.

Somehow, it almost makes him feel embarrassed, but he nods.]

It is fun.

[The cup gets set down a little harsher than planned, spilling some coffee onto the counter as Roxas gets up and rushes after Kairi. He wraps his arm around her waist and lifts her up.]

H-Hey! Where do you think you're going?

Huh -- yipe! [Celestia turns just too late to avoid getting her tail grabbed, which startles her into a little clatter of hooves on the street.] What are you doing?

You don't need calluses to prove that you're a real woman - to me, or to anyone else.

[He smiles down at her other foot, briefly reaching over to tickle at her toes.]

That's true... but you wouldn't have me any other way either, right?

[Draug disappears at that. To where, who knows.]

[A date? He laughs a bit before nodding.]

[He holds out his hand for her.] Where do you wanna go first?

[He's so tired of people asking him if he's okay. He's so tired of being here.

Why is he here?

He reluctantly lifts his head when he hears that voice, though. Someone's voice telling him that it's only right to at least respond to the people who talks to him.

[They definitely make adorable sounds as she runs. The punch is the real thing, though - energy gathering into her plush fist and exploding outward as it impacts the frog.]

[Its horrible cry echoes through the air as it's blown back. Weakened, but not beaten.]

C'mon, time to finish it off! Y'know how to rend, right?

Gonou hadn't heard the tiny, careful footsteps, being much too absorbed in dicing onions, but not even the most unobservant person could miss the massive crash and thousand little tinkling crashlets as silverware spiralled off from the initial impact and came to rest under counters, tables and all around the little girl sitting in the center of the explosion.

He whirls, knife in hand, and exhales with annoyance as he sees the cause of the crash.]
