The Far Shore has been dealing with a lot of space-time pulsating through the past week or so and everything is culminating on the night of the 15th, even though the Heavens are preparing for an all-out Obon bash. They had planned to have the celebration on the 15th itself, but Amaterasu asked to postpone a day due to the horrible feeling that is permeating the Far Shore.

And it turns out she was right to postpone everything. In fact, it will have to be postponed another whole month at this rate...



Before

Late in the day on July 15th, the new batch of shinki will arrive to a Far Shore with a thick, tense atmosphere. All night on the 15th it feels like something is about to happen - and it's difficult to tell whether that something will be good or bad. Any attempts to contact the management of the Far Shore have fallen on deaf, slightly harried ears and so everyone is left to their own devices to try and figure out why things are so tense.

July 16

Just after midnight, an explosive shock wave rips through the Far Shore, bringing on the age changes with it. Even the spirits of the Far Shore seem to be affected - for example, the library goblins are either toddling around on wobbly legs or are dragging themselves from place to place and looking decrepit. There are a few gods and shinki that seem to have been exceptions from the change, though it is not clear why.

July 17

Another wave of energy comes in the early morning of the 17th. Fewer people are affected this time and it seems to alter those people's ages a second time. There is no rhyme or reason to who is being affected further. Several of the library goblins have just dropped dead from severe old age. Oops.

Aftermath

Late on the 17th brings about one final burst from the energy that has been plaguing the Far Shore. For a short moment, every new temple glows with a soft light, seeming to beckon to their owners. But the light is gone quickly and everyone will find themselves back to normal with complete memories of everything that happened during their age adventures. The goblins that died, though, are still very dead. Looks like the library will need to get some new help soon.

[And frankly, so's Lavi, but for some reason, he has a lot of endurance and right now, he's more preoccupied with this tiny god.]

Yeah. There was something strange about the day before. Something didn't feel right that's why Amaterasu postponed the party stuff. It happened sometime at night or in the early hours of the morning. I wasn't awake but Kaede said it was around then.

I doubt whatever changed everyone will last for too long. With such a mass effect, it should weaken at least the duration.

[Maybe...he'd have to look into the actual cause first. But it's a gut feeling.]

Lavi frowns a bit.]

Party stuff? [He's still not sure what day it is, so sorry for the confusion there. But he does look thoughtful at least since apparently this Amaterasu was able to sense it, having enough sense to postpone whatever party was going to happen.]

Would someone with powers strong enough be able to do it? With so many people here, I'm surprised it's already lasting this long.

[For...a young child, he's very inquisitive and uses big words, okay. His mentor's been sure to teach him a lot.]

[That's all he's going to say. Fuujin isn't one for dumb parties but so long as Amaterasu likes them...]

Your guess is as good as mine at this point. I only just left my shrine.

[Congrats, you're a little less annoying. But he isn't going to forget that punch, he's just tired...]

But...Obon makes sense. Even if Lavi can't remember celebrating it.

Lavi tilts his head.]

....Need a place to rest for a little bit? [Look, this is him making amends. Sort of. For once, please accept.]

[He doesn't need help from some bratty, one-eyed, eyepatch wearing red head that doesn't know his place and is very stupid for punching a powerful god like him and then coming back for a round to. Seriously what the hell do you take him for, brat? As if he needs you or wants to hang around someone so uninteresting and disrespectful as you. Shinki or not. What do you take him for?]

[--But he is tired and this stinging isn't getting any better. Maybe a short break then he can ditch him and head to Amaterasu's or Suijin's]

I don't need anything.

[Gotta clear that up. He averts his eyes, rubbing his neck again]

I'm going to take a short break however. Where are you suggesting?

[It's not a need, but Lavi knows that he might just need the rest.

He eyes Fuujin a bit before he points in a direction.]

There's a place just over there where it's quiet and peaceful enough to rest in. It'll be secluded enough for you to take a break without anymore people bothering you.

[Fuujin looks at Lavi before glancing over in the direction he's pointing.]

....

[He's just going to head that way, no thank you or anything. But at least he's not insulting anyone]

[It's enough of an accomplishment that he's not insulting anyone.

Lavi goes, though, to make sure he doesn't get lost. The location he pointed to was a clearing, easy to miss upon first glance due to the trees, but it's definitely quiet and peaceful and there are leaves that can be used as a makeshift bed.

[Congrats, you managed to find something Fuujin acutally somewhat enjoys. It's not too different then laying around outside his own shrine under the warm sun.

He shuffles over to the clearing, not bothering with the leaves as he takes a seat. He lets out a sigh, trying to relax despite the burning on his neck. His eyes shift to Lavi, eyebrows raising in curiosity to what the red head was going to do. He doesn't know this kid and if he does, he doesn't recolonize him smaller.]

.....Who are you anyway?

[Lavi doesn't attempt to get closer to Fuujin, but he's been tired himself so he goes to sit underneath a tree. Almost immediately, he pulls his knees up to his chest, tiny arms wrapped around it.

He rests his chin on top of his knees as he looks at Fuujin.]

My name is Shaye.

[Yeah he's going to stick with Eye-patch or Cyclops. Shaye sounds like a dumb name and it's one he's likely to remember. He's actually a bit curious if Lavi has a eye under that black patch but he knows better then to ask. Shinki pasts and all that.

It's there for a reason or he really is an idiot]

[Lavi sighs softly, allowing his exhaustion to catch up to him.

It's been a long day and this is the first time he's actually gotten to relax. He figures he can find Cardia later before she really worries about him.]

[With the quiet and a soft breezy blowing by, the tension in Fuujin's shoulders eases a little. He's still in pain but it's not blaring which means what ever Kaede is doing for damage control is working.

Good.

He settles down a bit, eyes half lidded. This damn body gets worn out so easily.]
