The Far Shore has been dealing with a lot of space-time pulsating through the past week or so and everything is culminating on the night of the 15th, even though the Heavens are preparing for an all-out Obon bash. They had planned to have the celebration on the 15th itself, but Amaterasu asked to postpone a day due to the horrible feeling that is permeating the Far Shore.

And it turns out she was right to postpone everything. In fact, it will have to be postponed another whole month at this rate...



Before

Late in the day on July 15th, the new batch of shinki will arrive to a Far Shore with a thick, tense atmosphere. All night on the 15th it feels like something is about to happen - and it's difficult to tell whether that something will be good or bad. Any attempts to contact the management of the Far Shore have fallen on deaf, slightly harried ears and so everyone is left to their own devices to try and figure out why things are so tense.

July 16

Just after midnight, an explosive shock wave rips through the Far Shore, bringing on the age changes with it. Even the spirits of the Far Shore seem to be affected - for example, the library goblins are either toddling around on wobbly legs or are dragging themselves from place to place and looking decrepit. There are a few gods and shinki that seem to have been exceptions from the change, though it is not clear why.

July 17

Another wave of energy comes in the early morning of the 17th. Fewer people are affected this time and it seems to alter those people's ages a second time. There is no rhyme or reason to who is being affected further. Several of the library goblins have just dropped dead from severe old age. Oops.

Aftermath

Late on the 17th brings about one final burst from the energy that has been plaguing the Far Shore. For a short moment, every new temple glows with a soft light, seeming to beckon to their owners. But the light is gone quickly and everyone will find themselves back to normal with complete memories of everything that happened during their age adventures. The goblins that died, though, are still very dead. Looks like the library will need to get some new help soon.

[There may be a bit of a dreamy sigh as he says that along with a daze look as he thinks about Nanako again]

S-She is! She really is! I mean, you've seen her flying around right? Halo, wings and all...

[Totally what he meant, honest.]

I didn't know how she got them before but I ran into her and she was glowing as her wings suddenly came out...

[And you've lost him again.]

[Izumo's just watching this all in amusement.

It's an endearing sight, definitely watching Goten like this. He knows that this is the sort of thing that he should probably keep Goten's mind off, but it's definitely fun seeing him crush over Nanako like this.

But he should bring Goten back to reality before he gets lost in fantasy.]

[songoten]

[It takes a second but Goten blinks owlishly at him. 'OH hey Izumo when did you get here?' - kind of look before he shakes his head.]

Yeah? What?

[toremainbehind]

Had to bring you back to reality before I lose you there.

[He should tell Aymeric about this when the god is back to himself.]

[songoten]

But I'm....right here?

[He doesn't get it but something about the look on Izumo's face makes him suspicious. He raises a brow]

You were thinking about Nanako.

[Ughhh Goten just covers his red face with both hands. It's not his fault she is amazing, okay?!]

[He laughs.]

Alright, alright. I'll stop.

[songoten]

[Goten gvies him a sour look before shaking his head. Since they're on the subject though, now is as good a time as any:]

I do...wanna ask your help with something about that though. Nanako tried to help me find Aymeric and all earlier. I sorta wanna do something to return the favor....any ideas?

Knowing Nanako, she might like anything you do or get for her.

[But he pauses, thinking it over.

Nanako is a sweet girl and she's definitely gone out of her way to help people a lot. So:]

Did you want to get her a gift or actually do something, like helping her out when she needs it? Otherwise, the latter might be a good option, but if you go with getting her a gift, I'd suggest try to make something for her.

[songoten]

I'll always help her out when she needs it. That's what friends do.

[He'd do that for just about anyone that isn't Loki--- maybe Mikoto considering future fight hes going to get into]

I don't want it to be just anything. I want it to be something.

[He crosses his arms, thinking]

The only thing I can do is lift stuff and punch holes into walls. I don't think she'd like any of that.

[Can't take her flying on a magic Nimbus ride when she can already fly either. Well, he could but there's no real point. It took the magic out of it.]

Hmm.

[While Goten's right about that, Izumo thinks over what he can do.

Getting her something is a little cliche, but--

He looks over at him.]

Try flowers.

[songoten]

Flowers? You think that'd be good?

[Goten doesn't even know the word cliche]

[toremainbehind]

I do.

[He smiles.]

Knowing Nanako, she'll love it even.

[songoten]

You think she'll love it? Really?

[That perks Goten right back up, he's standing just as quick to.]

I'll do that then!

[And this Goten eager over something that isn't food or fighting related.]

[toremainbehind]

[...How endearing.

Izumo smiles wider. To see Goten excited over something that isn't food or training?

This is new.]

Then go and get her those flowers, Goten. [A glance out the window.] I'm sure you'll have plenty of time to give it to her, too.

[songoten]

Okay! That's perfect!

[And just like that, he's out of there, gotta go go go-- though he does call back as he bolts out of the temple:]
