The Far Shore has been dealing with a lot of space-time pulsating through the past week or so and everything is culminating on the night of the 15th, even though the Heavens are preparing for an all-out Obon bash. They had planned to have the celebration on the 15th itself, but Amaterasu asked to postpone a day due to the horrible feeling that is permeating the Far Shore.

And it turns out she was right to postpone everything. In fact, it will have to be postponed another whole month at this rate...



Before

Late in the day on July 15th, the new batch of shinki will arrive to a Far Shore with a thick, tense atmosphere. All night on the 15th it feels like something is about to happen - and it's difficult to tell whether that something will be good or bad. Any attempts to contact the management of the Far Shore have fallen on deaf, slightly harried ears and so everyone is left to their own devices to try and figure out why things are so tense.

July 16

Just after midnight, an explosive shock wave rips through the Far Shore, bringing on the age changes with it. Even the spirits of the Far Shore seem to be affected - for example, the library goblins are either toddling around on wobbly legs or are dragging themselves from place to place and looking decrepit. There are a few gods and shinki that seem to have been exceptions from the change, though it is not clear why.

July 17

Another wave of energy comes in the early morning of the 17th. Fewer people are affected this time and it seems to alter those people's ages a second time. There is no rhyme or reason to who is being affected further. Several of the library goblins have just dropped dead from severe old age. Oops.

Aftermath

Late on the 17th brings about one final burst from the energy that has been plaguing the Far Shore. For a short moment, every new temple glows with a soft light, seeming to beckon to their owners. But the light is gone quickly and everyone will find themselves back to normal with complete memories of everything that happened during their age adventures. The goblins that died, though, are still very dead. Looks like the library will need to get some new help soon.

[ She puts her hands out while she's running. Whoooosh! She's a jet plane! Like Mother and Father use sometimes! ]

[ Oh no that's adorable. ]

Who else is going to be at this tea party?

[kurukuruchan]

[ The jet plane turns around and flies backwards. It is a really, really talented jet plane. The star. The...what was the word?

Jeans n' us. ] Everybody. And they'll aaaaall be friends.

[alchemists]

Everyone will be friends, it sounds like a very lively party.

[ That word doesn't even make sense. ]

[kurukuruchan]

That's the best kind.

[ The jet is about to hit a bench. ]

[alchemists]

Watch out!

[ See this is why you watch where you're going. ]

Huh?

[ The jet makes impact, falls backwards... ]

[kurukuruchan]

[ -claps both hands onto the bench seat and uses the momentum to do a standing somersault flip up onto said bench, where she lands with a little burst of light and an actual trumpet fanfare. Out of nowhere.

She looks around, more confused by the trumpets than anything else. ] Did you hear that?

[alchemists]

[ What just happened, where did the trumpets come from ? Is there a geah user nearby playing the music ?? ]

How is that playing?

[kurukuruchan]

[ It's gone now. Hibiki blinks, standing on the bench, a little kid again instead of a jet. Oh well. ] That was weird.

[ It had almost sounded like it came from her, though. ]

[alchemists]

[ This is concerning. ]

Has this happened before?

[kurukuruchan]

There are sparkles sometimes.

[ Isn't that normal? Should she be worried?

Nah. Nothing is ever worth a worry, because it always turns out for the best. No matter what you say about that weird Carol story. ]

[alchemists]

Isn't that messy?

[ How in the ... ]

[kurukuruchan]

[ Hibiki shrugs. Considering she's on the grubby side for such a fancy little lady, she might not be the best judge of messiness. ] They go away fast.

[ Down she hops off the bench. Perfect ten for the landing too! ]

[alchemists]

Would you mind telling me the next time this happens?

[ Now she wants to research how that happens. ]

[kurukuruchan]

Sure!

[ She grins. It's not quite enough to get a sparkle this time, but it's sunny, all the same.

In any case, off to the temple! ]

[alchemists]

[ This temple seems familiar, it's the one Elfnein has visited twice before. But it's god is the girl that's very over the top and leads a music group, this little girl can't be the same person. ]

Your god has a very interesting temple.

[kurukuruchan]

[ Hibiki blinks, blankly. Blinks big, bright green eyes. Blankly. ]

There isn't a god here.
