The Far Shore has been dealing with a lot of space-time pulsating through the past week or so and everything is culminating on the night of the 15th, even though the Heavens are preparing for an all-out Obon bash. They had planned to have the celebration on the 15th itself, but Amaterasu asked to postpone a day due to the horrible feeling that is permeating the Far Shore.

And it turns out she was right to postpone everything. In fact, it will have to be postponed another whole month at this rate...



Before

Late in the day on July 15th, the new batch of shinki will arrive to a Far Shore with a thick, tense atmosphere. All night on the 15th it feels like something is about to happen - and it's difficult to tell whether that something will be good or bad. Any attempts to contact the management of the Far Shore have fallen on deaf, slightly harried ears and so everyone is left to their own devices to try and figure out why things are so tense.

July 16

Just after midnight, an explosive shock wave rips through the Far Shore, bringing on the age changes with it. Even the spirits of the Far Shore seem to be affected - for example, the library goblins are either toddling around on wobbly legs or are dragging themselves from place to place and looking decrepit. There are a few gods and shinki that seem to have been exceptions from the change, though it is not clear why.

July 17

Another wave of energy comes in the early morning of the 17th. Fewer people are affected this time and it seems to alter those people's ages a second time. There is no rhyme or reason to who is being affected further. Several of the library goblins have just dropped dead from severe old age. Oops.

Aftermath

Late on the 17th brings about one final burst from the energy that has been plaguing the Far Shore. For a short moment, every new temple glows with a soft light, seeming to beckon to their owners. But the light is gone quickly and everyone will find themselves back to normal with complete memories of everything that happened during their age adventures. The goblins that died, though, are still very dead. Looks like the library will need to get some new help soon.

[He really didn't mean to. It's been like this since he woke up older. That look he's getting doesn't help either.]

I-I'll clean it up and get you a new table Izumo!

[He shifts in the chair, putting a hand on the back rest as he pushes up to get to start cleaning--

-only the chair snaps and does the same as the table making him go tumbling onto the ground with it]

[He's just....going to sit there on the floor with the remains of the table and chair. NOT TOUCHING ANYTHING]

[A heavy sigh.

Izumo really wishes he can just sleep through this entire thing until everyone's back to normal.]

[songoten]

...Sorry.

[Goten swallows slowly]

I'll...fix it when, uh..... When I can?

[Either when he's a kid again or his control is better. Otherwise he'll probably just make things worse. So Goten is going to stay put.]

Uh, thanks for the food though. It was really good...

[He doesn't know what to say honestly]

[He gets up from the chair to walk over to Goten.

Placing a hand on his head, he gives a light hair ruffle.]

How about we wait until you turn back into a kid again before we do any repairs? Or find some way to control your new strength.

[songoten]

[Goten blinks owlishly up at him, it feels like he's a kid again. Looking up at Izumo as the older shinki ruffles his hair]

...You're not mad?

...I don't think you want to see me mad.

[It'll be worse than the time he hit Mikoto.

But really, he might just be feeling weary and it takes too much energy to be mad at Goten right now. Besides, it wouldn't do to aggravate his injuries.]

[songoten]

[Goten shakes his head quickly]

I don't wanna see it or ever make you mad. Really! I like it better when you're smiling.

[He genuinely means that. Happy Izumo is best Izumo!]

[He chuckles.]

Then you won't see me get mad unless you really deserve it.

[songoten]

[Goten slowly smiles at that. Izumo is too good to him but he nods his head]

That's fair!

[And slowly that smile turns into a teasing grin]

See, I think you have a pretty smile too!

[There are two totally different 'pretty's used for Izumo and Nanako, but his point still stands]

[A surprised blink before he chuckles.

He grins back.]

Not as pretty as yours, Goten.

[songoten]

[Goten blinks slowly before shaking his head and making a dismissive noise, don't turn this on him Izumo!]

Yeah right.

[toremainbehind]

[He holds back a snicker.]

But it's true. [Smilesmile.] I'm sure Nanako thinks so, too.

[songoten]

[ And he's red again. Just from that. Why Izumo, why!?]

You don't know that! This doesn't have to do with Nanako....

[But man, oh man...what a smile she has. Now he's thinking about that again.]

She is an angel though...

[Izumo grins a bit.]

Oh, is she now?

[An angel, huh?]

Yeahhh....

[There may be a bit of a dreamy sigh as he says that along with a daze look as he thinks about Nanako again]

She's amazing...

[Give him a few seconds before he snaps out of it. Oh uh]

S-She is! She really is! I mean, you've seen her flying around right? Halo, wings and all...

[Totally what he meant, honest.]

I didn't know how she got them before but I ran into her and she was glowing as her wings suddenly came out...

[And you've lost him again.]

[Izumo's just watching this all in amusement.

It's an endearing sight, definitely watching Goten like this. He knows that this is the sort of thing that he should probably keep Goten's mind off, but it's definitely fun seeing him crush over Nanako like this.

But he should bring Goten back to reality before he gets lost in fantasy.]

[songoten]

[It takes a second but Goten blinks owlishly at him. 'OH hey Izumo when did you get here?' - kind of look before he shakes his head.]

Yeah? What?

Had to bring you back to reality before I lose you there.

[He should tell Aymeric about this when the god is back to himself.]

But I'm....right here?

[He doesn't get it but something about the look on Izumo's face makes him suspicious. He raises a brow]
