Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods (although there's none this time) and shinki



The product of many meetings and recommendations, at last it has taken shape. On this day, in anticipation of the new arrivals who appear in a recognized pattern, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.

The shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. And in that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo.
Here the newly arrived gods are gathered, so finding their partner is more simple. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the aspects of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki, or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.




God Training

Bishamon herself, as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods, will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves get oriented with when they arrive.

Shinki Training

Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Bishamon's lead shinki Kazuma offers a lecture to new arrivals that will thoroughly cover some essential points about teamwork with both shinki and other gods.

Physical Training

The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) Essential for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
Also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.

Rest and Refreshments

There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

It's only been hectic a few more times since March. But it seems like that keeps escalating...

[He shakes his head, back to the matter at hand.]

I think this is going to help too. Having some kind of constant training is good for the new shinki and gods.

Todoroki's doing as well as ever. I think I'm finally starting to get the hang of using his vessel form. Demyx is new, but he seems to be settling into the temple well.

I'd be lying if I said this wasn't concerning...

[ Good thing her kids know about this now. At least she isn't too worried about talking about it in front of them. But there's a brief look of surprise. ]

Oh? So you're the god who named Demyx. I'm glad to hear he'll be in good hands. His relationship with his last god wasn't favorable, as I heard.

Between the escalation and everything else... yeah. I wish we could track down the culprit.

[He sighs. There are too many questions and nowhere near enough answers.]

It sounded... really lonely. I think it'll probably result in a good match? He doesn't have to go on an ayakashi related prayers since I usually bring Todoroki along for those. But he seems more social, so talking to the people on the Near Shore might go easier.

[dominatriarch]

I was hoping having had gods sent to their countries of origin would yield some sort of clue but so far... there hasn't been any news.

[ Way too many questions. A pause to take a drink herself. ]

Even if you have no intentions of taking him into battle, it probably wouldn't hurt to encourage him a little, I believe. His previous god didn't seem to have any interest in trying to cooperate with him and it left him... discouraged. Perhaps with the right motivation...

[ And a tiny smile here. You know what she means, Deku. A light nudge in the right direction maybe? ]

The only thing we managed to find were more of those flyers... [He sighs.] Have you heard anything about the two bodies found during the festival?

I don't think they've... talked very much. That's what it sounded like. We'll be going on a few prayers together. Maybe he'll be more open to different kinds of prayers after trying some of the smaller ones?

[dominatriarch]

No... I'm afraid not. I'd give Amaterasu and her shinki time to repair before returning to ask, however...

[ There's a nod though and the smallest furrow to her brow. ]

It isn't supposed to be that way... His situation only confirmed what I'd feared would happen between gods and shinki being paired together this way...

[A soft sigh, yeah he figured. It only makes sense to wait but the longer they do the fewer leads they'll have to follow.]

Is this not how gods and shinki are usually paired up?

[dominatriarch]

[ Another shake of her head. ]

No. It isn't. I don't believe I've ever explained this to you yet... but it would show you how vast a difference things are now to how it used to be for us.

[ There's a pause as she glances briefly at her shinki nearby. ]

I found them and named them - every last one of them. They were souls wandering the Near Shore. As such, I feel a sense of responsibility toward them... and in turn, most feel gratitude. I'd earned their trust, That's a difficult thing to foster when many of you are paired together the way you are...

[He's very, very quiet as he considers that. No matter what, even if Shouto wasn't assigned to him, he would have felt responsible. But that's part of being a hero, isn't it? Feeling responsible.]

... Shouldn't all gods feel a sense of responsibility towards their shinki? They rely on us and we rely on them. Just because the trust isn't immediate, doesn't mean it can't be built up.
