May Training
Who: Everyone
What: Information and Training
When: July 15
Where: Bishamon's temple, the Far Shore
Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods (although there's none this time) and shinki

The product of many meetings and recommendations, at last it has taken shape. On this day, in anticipation of the new arrivals who appear in a recognized pattern, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.
The shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. And in that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo.
Here the newly arrived gods are gathered, so finding their partner is more simple. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the aspects of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki, or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.

God Training
- Bishamon herself, as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods, will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves get oriented with when they arrive.
Shinki Training
- Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Bishamon's lead shinki Kazuma offers a lecture to new arrivals that will thoroughly cover some essential points about teamwork with both shinki and other gods.
Physical Training
- The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) Essential for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
Also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.
Rest and Refreshments
- There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.
There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

In Summary:
- Get all the information you can handle
- Veteran new gods and shinki are welcome to volunteer showing the ropes
- Get in some training
- Don't get dehydrated
- Spectate if you want
- Have fun~

[He's still not comfortable with the answer, but he's going to have to get over that in a hurry. He is a god.
And he still has to be careful, but the new power and freedom is going to give him a way to do something about this place, he thinks, and smiles mildly at Goku.]
It's nice to meet you too, Goku. Do you know who your god is?
no subject
[ You'd think Goku would remember one name, considering the guy is one of the only people he knows at all. But his god has a long name and he only heard it once. He probably should have asked him again, just in case. ]
Are you friends with him?
no subject
[Shizusuzu Moriren, though, is not ringing any bells. Goku must have misremembered some of the name. He taps his chin thoughtfully.]
What does he look like?
no subject
He's like this tall? [ Goku indicates with his hand held about the right distance. ]
An' his hair is like ... strawberries. Or raspberries? [ In other words, don't ask Goku to describe what someone looks like. ]
no subject
Ah! Yes, I think I do know him. Suzugamori Ren. He keeps his hair long?
[Hakkai may think Ren's judgment is a little suspect, but there's no doubt that he's loyal to his shinki and cares for them well.
It's a much better partnership than Goku had had, once, with Susano'o. His smile turns genuine for a moment.]
If he's your god, he's a kind person.
no subject
[ He was close! Goku is determined he'll remember it this time, so he doesn't call his own team leader guy by the wrong name by accident. ]
Yeah, he's super nice! He says we're teammates, now. [ Goku really liked the sound of that. When he first woke up here, he felt completely alone, not remembering a single person ever. Now he's got a team and everything. He looks at not-a-shinki-anymore Hakkai and asks curiously: ]
Do you have a team?
no subject
Why, yes.
[-- and, to cover that flicker before it sparks any questions:]
I'm afraid I haven't had the chance to meet my shinki yet, though. I'm sure she's somewhere around here.
no subject
It's cool they give you partners and stuff right away. Did you wanna be a leader and that's why you're a god now?
no subject
[He can, but he's not going to. Yet. There's no doubt that he's been given more autonomy this way, and he has quite a few things he needs to do.]
Hopefully she and I will get along -- and I wish you the best of luck with Ren, too. Ask him if he still has his ducklings.
no subject
[ Goku thinks if they forced him to be a leader, then maybe he should complain. Or at least be mad about it. Maybe Hakkai is mad and just better at hiding it than Goku would be. ]
He's got ducklings? [ Does that mean he's got ducks?
Is it really bad that he thinks that duck is really tasty? But he wouldn't eat the ducklings, of course not!]...I mean. Cool! Um, who's your shinki?
no subject
[Or that's the name that the woman whose face he saw had used when she introduced herself to him, months ago, as a goddess. There's an odd sort of symmetry to it; the shinki is a god and the god is a shinki....]
Well, he had ducklings the last time I visited his temple. Quite a few of them, living in his pond.
no subject
A pond sounds nice. [ Goku hasn't seen the temple yet, but he's already liking the sound of it. ]
You should visit again. Hehe. Unless you've got a pond, too?
no subject
[He adopts a thoughtful expression, rubbing his chin.]
Ah, but I don't know if I have a pond or not. I haven't had the chance to see my new temple.
If I do, perhaps I have ducks too!
no subject
[ Where's he living now? Outside? Goku supposes sleeping under the stars might actually be kind of pretty. It would be sucky if it was rainy or chilly, though... ]
no subject
[Just let his temple not be too obnoxiously opulent, or in a tree, or a giant clock.
A giant chemistry lab? Whatever. He's hoping for someplace relatively low-key.]
no subject
[ ...whatever that means. It makes sense to Goku, at least. He looks at Hakkai's face curiously. ]
Do you feel any different?
no subject
[It's as anodyne a statement as he can manage. Talking about memories in general to a new shinki is dangerous, and Hakkai doesn't want to encourage Goku to wonder about his own. Reassuring him that, memories or not, he's still the same...
... well, maybe it'll help. He can hope.]
I'm a little bit new-old, in fact! I know my way around, but I have a lot to learn about being a god.
no subject
He wants to think about it, but doesn't want to at the same time. It's a little weird. ]
Maybe you can ask the person who used to be your god before?
no subject
[With how hard she'd tried not to let him go already....
He smiles cheerfully at Goku.]
How are you doing so far? I remember how much it was to learn when I first arrived.
no subject
[ The pamphlet thing said nothing about making stuff suddenly exist. But if he can do that now, he's kind of excited about what else he can have show up. ]
no subject
[Goku can summon his staff? Hakkai forces his surprise to stay mild on his face. If Gojyo had been able to summon his own weapon, Hakkai hadn't seen him do it here, but then he might have avoided it in front of someone who could have been reminded.]
Shinki each have different powers, though.
no subject
Cool! What could you do? When you were a shinki, I mean.
no subject
[Which is, he has to admit, pretty cool.
It's a shame that power didn't seem to stick around; he can think of all sorts of ways to integrate it into his usual tactics. Of course, things are also significantly less openly violent here than they are at home.]
no subject
[ Goku thinks that's pretty cool too. He's trying to picture how this works in his mind. Do the shadows turn into solid things? Or is the shadow like a black hole, that eats away at you? ]
You must be really strong.
no subject
You might have others, too. It's worth practicing with your god to see what you might be able to do.
