Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods (although there's none this time) and shinki



The product of many meetings and recommendations, at last it has taken shape. On this day, in anticipation of the new arrivals who appear in a recognized pattern, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.

The shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. And in that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo.
Here the newly arrived gods are gathered, so finding their partner is more simple. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the aspects of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki, or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.




God Training

Bishamon herself, as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods, will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves get oriented with when they arrive.

Shinki Training

Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Bishamon's lead shinki Kazuma offers a lecture to new arrivals that will thoroughly cover some essential points about teamwork with both shinki and other gods.

Physical Training

The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) Essential for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
Also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.

Rest and Refreshments

There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

...How do you know that? [It'd be one thing if someone could tell from his vessel name, but unless he forgot to put on pants today, his vessel name should be covered by his clothes.] Have we met...?

You and I serve the same god, Tenjoin-kun. He sought me out earlier and eventually informed me of his other shinki.

I haven't seen your face around. [Which doesn't really mean anything, considering it's not like he knows everyone, but...] Did you just arrive?

[No, it means he hasn't seen Reisi's face around. Even when one cannot put a name to each individual face, it's important to be observant enough to recognize when there are new people among you.

Yes. Just today, in fact. [A pause as he glances around as if gesturing to the whole of this place.] Do new shinki always arrive in batches like this?

[The question gives him pause—he hasn't thought about the issue of possible danger to shinki in a while, but, what with the tension in the air, something's going on.]

Ah—yeah, they do.

[A pause as he dithers over how to say it.] ...Could you tell me if you feel weird? ...Weirder than usual?

[Closing his eyes, Reisi focuses on the general atmosphere and thinks about it. He opens his eyes again when he speaks.]

I don't know that I feel weirder than usual, so to speak. But as I'd said, there seems to be something about. An unseen weight or tension in the air... Has anyone else mentioned it, or have you addressed it with anyone else?

Not as such... [Not about this, at least.]

There was something a while back... Shun seems to think it was just a prank, but it doesn't hurt to be careful.

[He looks away while he considers. He'd spilled his guts about this to Johan, but...he'd been trying to avoid something back then and had just been babbling about whatever was on his mind. And Johan wasn't a shinki. On the other hand, Reisi seems to want to know.]

...It had something to do with the ayakashi. Something that's used to control them was dropped off at certain temples, and broadcasted. [That the message had something to do with shinki was his own assumption, so he omits that part.]

It may not be connected... I'm just a little worried.

[Like Suzugamori Ren, it appears that Tenjoin is also on a first name basis with Kurosaki. Noted.

Reisi mulls over what the young man had just confided to him, moving a hand to rub his chin as he thinks. But the information is vague at best, much like the currently unseen source of tension in the atmosphere.]

Without enough information, it's difficult to ascertain anything about the current situation.

However, I'd appreciate if you'd shed more light on the so-called prank. How long ago was the incident, who was being controlled, and what was the nature of the broadcasted message?

[Hm? Straight to the information?] You're pretty thorough!

[He takes a second to think back.]

...It was about...a month ago. There are these masks that can control ayakashi apparently, and someone made some fake ones... Shun thinks it was done by a god, since the vultures at the temple didn't have time to react, and gods can teleport.

Since he knows more than I do about this kind of thing, he's probably right, but I just can't help it. [There's a rueful note to the last part; he knows just worrying doesn't help anybody.]

I hope you'll be careful anyway, though. I'll keep an eye out, too.

[Speaking of masks, though.] ...By the way, I'm a mask, too, but that's unrelated. [please don't suspect him he has so much to (un)live for]

[Reisi sees no reason to be anything less than direct with this much disjointed information. If he could cut to the heart of it, then he could see what needs to be done both in general and for Tenjoin himself.

While vigilance is the advised course of action, try not to overthink it. We cannot risk mentally exhausting ourselves before anything happens.

[For a moment or so, he quietly thinks about his training earlier. At the time, he was mostly going with the flow rather than actively puzzling out his own capabilities.]

So far, basic hand-to-hand combat and sword fighting.

[Recalling that Kurosaki had mentioned Tenjoin's difficulty with shinki basics...]

And since learning about them, I've been practicing drawing borderlines as well.

That's a useful thing to practice!

[Close combat and sword... He doesn't know much about either, but he feels safe enough in assuming that that's fairly short range. On the other hand, Fubuki's range while in vessel form has always felt iffy to him, so maybe that's...not an issue? Blight is always a problem of course—]

Yes, exactly.

[Though to Reisi, it seems like everything comes easily. Gathering as much information as possible, meeting his god, fighting... Nothing seems particularly challenging or even remotely difficult. Have things always come this effortlessly to him? He can't help but wonder.]

[But he doesn't know what to call the other power he has. The blue aura is the power of the Fourth and Blue King, one that he's barely tapped into since his arrival.]
