Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods (although there's none this time) and shinki



The product of many meetings and recommendations, at last it has taken shape. On this day, in anticipation of the new arrivals who appear in a recognized pattern, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.

The shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. And in that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo.
Here the newly arrived gods are gathered, so finding their partner is more simple. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the aspects of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki, or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.




God Training

Bishamon herself, as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods, will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves get oriented with when they arrive.

Shinki Training

Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Bishamon's lead shinki Kazuma offers a lecture to new arrivals that will thoroughly cover some essential points about teamwork with both shinki and other gods.

Physical Training

The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) Essential for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
Also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.

Rest and Refreshments

There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

But there's a bit of a look directed at the glasses as if he can tell what the other shinki is thinking. Then his eyes flicker back to Yona and he nods.

Better to agree than argue in this case.]

My fire can be used for offensive and defensive purposes. I don't have to move when I use it. [And with that, Izumo summons his Aura, the dim red appearing around him.]

[ Yona chokes on a laugh and then instantly smooths her expression out in hopes that Izumo hadn't seen that.

Right. Business. Her shinki certainly wasn't saying things Izumo wouldn't want to hear. Even if there's still a hint of laughter in her voice as she answers him. ]

We're still trying to figure out what Shizuo's powers allow us to do. I thought at first they were to allow me to see, but they seem no different on than off in that case, so I've been speculating it might be something defensive instead. [ Although she has no idea what. It's just a strange feeling she has. Shizuo makes her feel fairly safe in general, but there was definitely a shift in it when he was in his vessel form, even if she couldn't put her finger on why. ]

[ Shizuo could still see and understand what Izumo's expression could mean- however that look made it seem like he could hear what was said to Yona. They can't communicate like that when he doesn't have a face, so stop that shit it's incredibly one-sided. ]

Well, it's the best theory we've got. Ah, and he might start using the fire at you with no warning. That stuff around him is a sign that he's ready to use his power.

Unless you count his explanation as a heads up.

[Izumo listens to Yona's explanation and he gives a nod.]

Well, I'm happy to assist you in that case.

[With that, little fireballs form around him.] Just tell me when you're ready.

[ Yona's eyes widen slightly before she fumbles and quickly slides the glasses on, even though they feel strange to her.

Knowing they're going to be testing this theory is one thing but actually seeing the fireballs she's about to have thrown at her? Is something else entirely.

Which is why she doens't sound at all certain when she answers, ] A-alright, Izumo. I'm ready?

[ Was that meant to come out as a question? ]

Don't worry. I'm here, and Izumo has full control over what he's doing.

[ Which still might not help, because it's fire, but hey. He tried to be comforting. ]

Don't worry, Yona.

[Be very grateful he's been training his control with his fire since the moment he's discovered it.

But all the same, those fireballs are aiming for Yona now.]

[ She's trying not to worry, she really is. But those are still fireballs coming for her and she's not supposed to move out of the way - not if they're trying to figure out what Shizuo can do.

She has one dreaded thought that maybe they were all wrong about this and then the fireballs are flung in her direction and all she can do is give a startled squeak and clench her eyes shut as her fingers clutch at the sides of the glasses. ]

Shizuo!

[bartenderizing]

[ And as Yona's eyes are closed tight and she squeezed at the glasses, the most that Yona would feel was the lightest of warmth.

On Izumo's side, it seemed like nothing was about to happen until about a foot before the fireballs were going to hit the young redhead. Then they ended up smacking into a purple wall, though the coloration was only in the places where the fireballs crashed into. ]

Yona, you can open your eyes. I said you don't have to worry, didn't I? Looks like we've got an idea of what I can do now.

[He was about to redirect the fireballs before they hit the young goddess until they collided into a purple wall.

It surprises Izumo briefly, but then he relaxes a bit, a smile on his face.]

Yona, everything's fine now.

[So Shizuo's vessel power is more of protection-based one. That's good. At least that way, Yona won't get hurt.]

[ She squints open one eye, and then the other, catching sight of the purple shimmers from the barrier a moment before the fade, the fireballs having dissipated on impact. ]

That... this is what you can do, Shizuo? [ Her expression turns wondering at that, feeling a little silly for being so frightened. Of course, now she's eager to see it again, curious and intrigued. ] Izumo, can you try again?

[ He had made that promise before Yona went through the process of naming him, so perhaps it's not so much of a surprise that his vessel power was defensive. Of course now, it looks like there's nothing around Yona, with the danger having been neutralized. ]

I don't know how it'll help you rend ayakashi, but at least it looks like you won't be getting hurt. Have him try as much as you'd like.

[Izumo gives a nod, more fireballs appearing around him.]

Just tell me when you want to stop, okay?

[And that will be all the warning he'll give before those fireballs streak towards her again.]

[ This time she keeps her eyes open, watching in fascination as the fireballs whiz towards her before sputtering and fizzling out each time they collect with the wall that he seems to have surrounded her with. ]

Shizuo, can you feel any of that? It doesn't hurt any, does it? [ She's not picking up on anything of the sort from him, but she wants to be certain. ] It might not rend in itself, but I can do that with your help anyway, I think it's a spell we need to learn to do together. But this will give us the time to get into a position to do so.

[ And every time they fizzle out, the coloration of the wall fades away as well. The color continues to remain as vibrant as the last hit as well. ]

Why would I feel it? And yeah, this should buy more than enough time for us.
