Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods (although there's none this time) and shinki



The product of many meetings and recommendations, at last it has taken shape. On this day, in anticipation of the new arrivals who appear in a recognized pattern, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.

The shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. And in that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo.
Here the newly arrived gods are gathered, so finding their partner is more simple. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the aspects of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki, or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.




God Training

Bishamon herself, as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods, will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves get oriented with when they arrive.

Shinki Training

Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Bishamon's lead shinki Kazuma offers a lecture to new arrivals that will thoroughly cover some essential points about teamwork with both shinki and other gods.

Physical Training

The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) Essential for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
Also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.

Rest and Refreshments

There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

[ He says that almost immediately, without dancing around it. Glancing around, he turns his back towards Hak to find and point towards a slightly distant mountain with walls around the top. With the way the Far Shore was, there really was a huge mishmash of terrains in this land. ]

While the place I stay is on that mountain, you could stay in some small building that's got an ocean next to it for a temple. Either that or a property that's mostly forest.

[He doesn't even look up to the mountain, but instead stares around the temple they stand within, stepping off to the side a little to offer some space should someone else wish to take it. He's feeling tired anyway and could use a nap soon, but if Shizuo wants to continue, he'll gladly take him up on it.

For now, he gazes up to the blue sky, losing himself in thought.]

As long as I've got a place to sleep and eat... and not with some god I don't like, I don't really care where I end up.

[Despite his earlier remark, he's already not fond of the setup as it is, so he can at least hope his god is a decent person.]

[ Ah, well if they were done, then he was more than fine with that. Even if it was sparring, Shizuo felt that he didn't really do well at the whole fighting thing. Not just because he hated violence, but it didn't seem... Fair?

Honestly, if he didn't want to make sure he was capable of keeping Yona safe, Shizuo would be happy just laying off in the sun. ]

Well... You got more than enough time for both those things. Though I couldn't say what kind of god you get. Some can be pretty tough and strict, and there's more that I never even met. If you don't like 'em and they won't release you, just follow the stuff in the handout about unwanted naming.

You mean this thing?

[He pulls out a crumpled and carelessly folded pamphlet from beneath his robes and turns it over in his hands, looking at it like it's offended him.]

Seems like a hassle. Let's hope the gods can get it right the first time. I won't be silent about it if it comes to that.

[Who even decides these things anyway? Does it say in the pamphlet? He hasn't read it.]

[ It's... Kind of annoying, seeing something he suggested- that someone listened and worked on- just crumpled up in the guy's hand. Despite the hassle it took him to find the right person in getting that out to people. There's a rare desire to crumple up this person's spear...

Even if Shizuo is also the type to not do things because it seemed like a hassle. ]

That or it'll depend on your luck. Have you got that figured out yet?

My luck? [He looks Shizuo dead in the eyes.] I'm dead.

[Like that answers the question. Whether he misunderstood or not isn't what's important.]

I'd say that's as unlucky as it gets.

Yeah, well all us shinki are dead. Some are still luckier than others.

[ Maybe it was lucky for some of them to have died. Who knows? It's not like they'll ever know. Then again, it's not like Shizuo's been able to help out with... Whatever answers this guy was hoping for. ]

Ah, but if you wanted answers and a good person to train against, I guess your luck really does suck.

Not that bad.

[He means that. Hak's lucky he got someone who could do anything at all. Some of the people he watched before stepping in could barely lift a sword, and he hoped that having someone more experienced to spar against might inspire them to work harder.]

You can at least throw a punch better than half the people I've seen.

[ That's a surprise. Shizuo figured that someone like him, who couldn't follow the flow of combat, would be some of the worst luck for someone to have. ]

I guess it seems like that, huh? Oh yeah, how's your hand?

[ As someone who can easily punch through a tree, while he tries his best to keep control of his strength, that was still him punching another person's punch. It'd be nice if he didn't break their hand (which was a reasonable concern.) ]

I'm more resilient than I look.

[He does shake his hand though, noticing the dull ache now that he's brought Hak's attention to it.]

They teach you how to do that up here?

[Because he wouldn't mind learning...]

That's handy.

[ Ah... Though maybe he should recommend ice to the guy, if he's shaking it out now. ]

Teach what, punching? I just did what seemed right, to go against what you were doing. None of the physical stuff I can do was really taught. I'm just like that.

Anyone can throw a half-decent punch, but not everyone's got that kind of strength.

[Hak looks him up and down then, indicating at him with a shrug.]

You don't exactly look it.

It's usually for the best that most people don't.

[ There are now silicone cups at the temple you'll soon live at, Hak. Because there are inconveniences to how Shizuo is. Though most of it could be attributed to his lack of sensation. He can't even get annoyed by the last part of that. ]

Yeah, I know. Like I said, it's just something I've got- Not exactly something I worked to get.

True enough. If everyone was as good as we are, there'd be nothing left for everyone else. Things get boring quick enough as it is.

[He's a... glass half-full kinda guy...???

It's only just occurred to him that he hasn't caught the man's name yet, and if he did mention it at any point, it's guaranteed that he wasn't listening. He points to himself with a proud smile.]

Hak, by the way. Names might help.

... You just got here and things are boring?

[ That was astonishingly quick. Though he'd have to question why Shizuo was being included with whatever was meant by 'as good.' If only because he didn't see anything special about what he did.

Huh. Hak almost sounds familiar... Did he hear it before? Nah. Probably just his imagination. ]

Not yet. I'll still hold my breath and see where things go from here and make my judgment when I meet my god.

[He begins to walk away, waving a hand over his shoulder at the other man. The gardens and a good nap – they beckon. Guess dying really does take a lot of someone.]
