Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods (although there's none this time) and shinki



The product of many meetings and recommendations, at last it has taken shape. On this day, in anticipation of the new arrivals who appear in a recognized pattern, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.

The shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. And in that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo.
Here the newly arrived gods are gathered, so finding their partner is more simple. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the aspects of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki, or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.




God Training

Bishamon herself, as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods, will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves get oriented with when they arrive.

Shinki Training

Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Bishamon's lead shinki Kazuma offers a lecture to new arrivals that will thoroughly cover some essential points about teamwork with both shinki and other gods.

Physical Training

The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) Essential for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
Also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.

Rest and Refreshments

There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

[ Strange, but a little amusing. Especially since it's definitely a surprise. ]

Good. It really will be a surprise. And I have something else to give you, but that's later.

Wasn't the cake your present?

No. [ beat ] Well, it was part of it.

But Hajime helped me a little, on deciding the other thing.

I guess if you're really set on keeping a secret... We should share the cake.

I'm excited for it.

I figured you'd probably say that. [ He says it fondly, though. ]

Hopefully it doesn't disappoint.

[fullcowl]

I trust your judgement.

[He'll take a second to pick out some plastic forks for them and pulls up two chairs.]

Thankfully. At least the cake shouldn't be disappointing.

[ Because they've had cakes there before, and he damn well made sure it was the most perfect cake when he picked it out. Now it's time to eat it, though. ]

[He cheerfully gives Shouto a fork before opening up the box and taking a small forkful of it...

And then bringing it up to Shouto's lips. Izuku's blush is almost luminescent, but it's his birthday, right? He can indulge a little.]

[ At first, he was perfectly content to having his fork. That's normal and fine, they've shared food before, but -

Shouto blinks a little at first, before he realizes what Izuku is doing. His left side heats up as the right side of his face flushes a little, no comparison to Izuku's red face. It doesn't stop him from opening his mouth, though, to let him feed him the cake. ]

[Embarrassing. Embarrassing! He can't get over how embarrassing this is to do at all! Let alone in public. But there's a little bit of a thrill to it. And it's satisfying to see Shouto blushing too.

Cute.]

It's good?

[icyhot]

[ Maybe there's nowhere near as many things that embarrass him, the way so much embarrasses Izuku, but that... is weirdly so. Even with the PDA that he doesn't register as PDA, this actually is so sappy that it registers to him, for once.

But he doesn't mind. Even if he does rub his fingers briefly against his shinki name at the back of his neck. ]

I picked the right cake for today, I think. [ It's good. Which means he's going to return the favor, taking a forkful of his own and holding it out. Only fair, right? ]

[Part of him wanted this, but the greatest part of him is blushing so red he's pretty sure he could be seen from space or something. He fights very hard to keep his arms down and not wrapped around his whole face.

He does take the bite from Shouto's fork, heart hammering in his chest. That's... probably the most singularly satisfying bite of cake he's ever had in his life.]

It's delicious.

[ There's always, always, something incredibly endearing when Izuku blushes so hard he practically glows. Shouto enjoys it, finds it particularly cute, and now knows why he does.

But he's also probably getting a little too hot on his left side for a normal person's comfort. He has to make sure that he isn't singing his clothes, or possibly smoking, and is thankful that, with a glance, it seems that he isn't. So he can at least enjoy Izuku eating the cake. ]

I'm glad. [ He means it. ] Happy birthday, Midoriya.

[At least he can see that they're both embarrassed by this, instead of Shouto being completely calm about PDA like usual. Even Shouto has his embarrassment limits, it seems.

Izuku's smile is as wide as it is genuine.]

It's been really happy. It's probably one of the best ones I've had.

[icyhot]

[ This is just a lot for even him. It's sappy, it's incredibly public, it's not something he's used to... but still, Shouto enjoys it anyways. Emotions are really strange, he thinks.

But worth it. Especially when Izuku smiles at him like that. It's as if the sun came out during a cloudy day. ]

Then I'm not just glad. I'm happy, too. [ And will make sure next year is good, too. ]

[It's so embarrassing but he started it. And it's... it's really nice. Even if he's this red.

His heart's hammering in his chest between that smile and feeding his boyfriend in public.]

Good! Birthdays are supposed to be happy.

[ The corners of his mouth twitch a little more upwards in response to that, softly amused in a way he doesn't quite get. But between Izuku's blush, and his own, and the fact they're doing this... he can just be happy, he supposes.

He doesn't think he's ever been as happy as he is with Izuku. ]

That's why they say that, right?

[He laughs softly and cuts off another bite of the cake, and holds it up to Shouto's lips.]

Yeah, I think that's why.

Let's go home and watch some hero movies after this.

[ Even if it's still embarrassing, he opens his mouth for the bite of cake. Funny how he's fine with pretty much everything else... ]

I think that'd be a nice way to finish the day. Especially if that's what you want.

[It's embarrassing, and he's not sure it's ever going to stop being embarrassing. But it's still oddly satisfying to fuss over Shouto like this.]

[ Satisfying and embarrassing can go hand-in-hand, and if this is what Izuku wants to do on his birthday... or ever...

Shouto is very bad at telling Izuku no, unless he's pushing himself too hard. ]

Of course. And it's something I like, too. Especially since I get to spend time with you.

[He's... he's not feeding Shouto cake again in public. Maybe at home where nobody else can see them...]

Yeah? You'd make an amazing hero, you know.
