[The defensiveness of the answer is enough for Shun to consider that he's probably more than a little younger than he is right now normally, but he doesn't press on it, especially since Yukine's question gives him more to think about.]

It's harder to say that when I have nothing to compare it to, yeah. I guess I could say I like that I probably take better care of myself than the version of me in that picture does.

[And he really doesn't want to ask too much about why that is.]

[Compared to Yukine’s own “I like being taller” answer, Kurosaki’s answer feels a bit deeper- enough to make him laugh under his breath.]

Anyway, what are you going to do today? I think it’d be best if everyone waited this out at their own temples… but not a lot of people are doing that.

[There's a shrug from Shun, and he smiles a little.] I'm mostly looking for information - I don't really like not knowing what's going on. But if I keep getting people who remember everything and still don't really know what's happening, I'll probably just go home and see if it lasts more than the day.

[It'd be weird if it didn't, but at the same time, it had seemed to be sometime this morning this had happened, if he can only remember that far back. It doesn't feel too outlandish to assume that might be when it wears off.]

[Says the past-version of the guy who stood under a suspicious ayakashi just to test what would happen. Man.] Of course you like knowing what's going on...

Well, I hope that you turn up something. Someone has to, right? But mostly you should just worry about getting through this safely first.

[That unsurprised note from Yukine is hard to miss, and Shun raises a brow.] You sound like I've made a point about it before.

Is there anything that dangerous around here? I've seen a lot of kids around, and I've been worrying about what might happen to them if there is.

[Yukine nods back.] ‘Cause you have. But wouldn’t just about everyone like to know what’s going on?

Well, this is heaven, so it’s hard for bad stuff to make its way in here. It’s not impossible though. Just… worst-case scenario, you know?

Even if they would, it doesn't sound like anyone's had much luck yet. [Most of the answers he's gotten so far have run to the tune of being curious, but not actually knowing anything yet.]

I guess. I'll have to hope that just whatever this is will be as bad as it gets, because I'm not sure I've seen enough adults to keep an eye on that many kids.

Heh... that's a good point. My hands are full enough as it is.
We can worry about that if it keeps on like this though.

[With a frown Yukine looks down worriedly for a moment.] Will they really be okay?

[For all that he thinks everyone will be okay in the end - the new guys are pretty good about looking out for each other if nothing else - he can't help but think, it's just a bunch of kids out there who might not remember anything...]

That's what I was thinking. If I really have been here a long time and this only happened just recently, maybe it won't last that long. [He definitely hopes that's going to be the case, because otherwise he's going to have a lot of trouble on his hands.

Yukine's worry gets him a bit more serious, though, and he nods confidently.]

I think it'll turn out fine. Kids can be really good at taking care of each other when it comes to that, and there are still a good amount of adults and teenagers even if it might not be enough for all of them.

[For a moment Yukine is startled to hear such kind encouragement, given who he’s talking too, but – well, obviously he’s not quite the same as the older Kurosaki.]

You’re right. We’ll get through it either way, but again, hopefully everything is back to normal soon.

Yeah, I don't think anyone wants this to last a long time, but if it's just a few days it'll be way easier on everyone. [While Shun doesn't know enough about this place to judge their ability to handle it, everyone he's met so far has been kind and willing to at least try helping. With so many people like that around, he feels like they won't let things go too sour.

Shun gives a light, slightly awkward laugh at the other comment.] I'd hope so, but if everyone knows my older self, it'd feel weird to stand in for him too long.

You aren’t exactly a ‘stand-in’. You are him. But I kinda get what you mean. … Annnnd kinda don’t. It’s hard for me to imagine being in your shoes right now.

I know, but...it doesn't really feel like I am. It doesn't even look like my older self is that much older than me, but I've been getting the impression we're really different. [And he sounds somewhat concerned about that, but he's not pressing for details unless they end up in front of him for whatever reason.]
