[It's how Shun likes to pretend it works, but then again, he also likes to pretend him being allowed to worry about his friends but his friends not being allowed to worry about him is how it works in general.

He's halfway through washing out his own cup when Fubuki starts speaking, and as soon as he mentions the new temples, Shun's eyes narrow a little. It's not surprise - if anything, it seems like resignation. It had only been a matter of time until this came up, though at least Shun knows now what the cause was, so he's not in the dark himself even if Fubuki has to be.

The last question still kind of throws him, because that wasn't what he'd been expecting the concern to be, and though he looks surprised for a second, in the next he just sighs in mild annoyance and places his cup to one side.]

I only felt you sting me while the visits were still going on. I wondered what the cause was, but it didn't make anything any worse. Think about your own safety before you start worrying about mine.

Shun...maybe I should start quoting that to you? ["Worry about yourself," indeed.]

[Though...he wonders if he should bring up the rest. But "the rest" is a shinki problem...]

...I'm not sure what caused it, either. [Which is only technically the truth, but if he tries to be more detailed, he'll think about it again. And asking Shun to help experiment with how far he can recall it just doesn't strike him as a good idea. If nothing else, shinki are forbidden from remembering for a reason.]

[He rests his elbows on the counter.] Did it come out with holy water?

I'm not the one who was in risky territory. [It had hurt a little, sure, but Shun considers potentially remembering too much as a shinki much more dangerous than a tiny bit of pain. And it had just been pain, now that he thinks about it, which is about when Fubuki makes the remark on holy water.]

It wasn't bad enough for that. It just hurt, as far as I know. [He's pretty sure he would've noticed that kind of blight, especially given he'd checked himself over for it afterwards. Since he knows Fubuki left fairly quickly from what Johan said, maybe that's what saved it from becoming something worse.

As for what caused it...] It's in the past now, anyway. Might as well forget it.

Ha...I guess that's true. [It's not like he's forgotten what it really means for a shinki to remember, but maybe he just didn't want to think about it. It's easier to turn away from if he convinces himself he's doing it for his own reasons, and not passing it to his god is a reason.]

[It's good to know that it didn't last, though.]

I think you know how hard it is to forget some things. [Not an admonition, but...an explanation.] But don't worry, I wasn't obsessing over it or anything.

[The "explanation" gets a somewhat tight grimace out of Shun, and while he doesn't think the situations can really be compared, he at least takes it calmly.] Put it to the back of your mind, then. But you probably already know that much.

[Being a shinki feels like it'd require a lot of doing that. In any case, at this point Shun figures there's not a great deal else to be said, so he leaves the side of the sink and walks out of the kitchen, headed for the hallway.]

Go get some sleep, anyway, if all this was so "hectic" for you.

[He gets up.] Shun.

[Since Shun's already out of the kitchen, he has to be quick, but he wasn't really sure what he was going to say. "Get some sleep yourself" wouldn't work...]

[Since Shun's back is turned, it's hard to tell what his actual reaction is to that, though there is a faint and very non-committal sound in answer as he heads off in the general direction of the shower.

Considering the feeling he'd been getting earlier and the raw memories from the age changing, he doubts he's even going to have an acceptable night, but Fubuki doesn't need to know that.]
