"Quirkless?" How do you mean?

[As far as she was concerned, there seemed to be lots of people in the Far Shore who were plenty "quirky."]

You don't know what quirks are?

Kacchan can make explosions with his hands.

Ex- explosions?!

[Well, yes... that certainly falls within the realm of "quirky." Just not quite in the more mundane way Naoto had been expecting.]

I- I see, so quirks are something like super powers?

[herofan]

[He nods.]

Most people have a quirk that does something, but I'm quirkless.

[fortune_detective]

[Naoto can easily infer what that means.]

"Quirkless," without any such powers then...

[She can easily see from the emotions on Izuku's face how much this classification must bother him. She smiles down sympathetically.]

Well then, for what it's worth, I am also "quirkless."

[It wasn't really a lie either. Outside of creating a borderline and assuming a vessel form -- both of which any shinki can do, she really didn't possess any kind of supernatural abilities.]

Really? [He's never met another quirkless person at home!]

[Naoto nods her head in affirmation.]

What was it like? [She taps a finger against her chin.] Normal, I suppose?

To be honest, I can't say with any certainty what my life was like before I arrived here myself.

... You don't remember?

That's okay. You seem okay now.

[Naoto shakes her head.]

I lost my memories upon arriving here. It's not so uncommon a story as it turns out.

[She smiles though, a little somber but still trying to be reassuring.]

It's nothing you need to worry about though.

... Are you scared when you don't remember stuff?

[fortune_detective]

[The question literally stops her in her tracks. Her mouth open and closes for a moment, as she actually finds the young Izuku's question tricky to answer. After a moment, she smiles weakly and resumes her pace.]

Sometimes I am, yes. But I feel it's important not to let myself dwell on it. There are people here now who need me, so I try to stay focused on them and how I can help them in the present.

[Oh. He notices the weakness of her smile.]
