Who: Sora & Riku Replica
What: After the banquet, Sora takes his new mini Riku shinki back to his home to show him the place. They then participate in their first prayer as a dou!
When: March 26-March 27
Where: Baldr's home & Japanese neighbourhood
Warnings: Teenagers?

[The banquet left Sora a little tired both emotionally and physically but he was excited to get back to the house and show Riku around. He had seen the place a little bit before heading out to the banquet, so the home was still pretty new to him as well but it was cozy and reminded him of Destiny Islands.

There was perks to being a god for sure. With followers came this little home where Sora and Riku would find themselves for Sora’s duration as a god of light.

He opens the front door and bounds in, pointing at various things. He hadn’t locked the front door, probably something he’d never do.]

This is the living room, and this is the kitchen. And there’s even a room for you upstairs!

[Locking the door will probably become Riku's job, won't it? That's how stuff gets stolen and trashed easily.

He follows Sora at a much slower pace, checking out the place a little more thoroughly. It's a nice house, that's for sure.]

...There is? [That shouldn't be surprising, but it is nonetheless, and he's a little confused about that.] I dunno why I wasn't expecting that, but thanks.

[Sora turned to Riku and smiled.] It's nice, right?

[As a god Sora wasn't exactly sure how he was supposed to treat his shinki. He had been told that shinki are servants and tools for the gods to use and they must obey unless they blight their god. He didn't like that. The master and servant thing was not Sora's taste at all.

So when he had been gifted with this temple, Sora made sure Riku would be happy here too. None of this...servant stuff. It was too weird.]

It's great we're right on the shore, we have a beach patio and a dock too! It's really awesome! Do you like it?

[Riku appreciated that line of thinking. He himself wasn't quite used to the relationship as it was anyway, him being a 'weapon' and Sora being the wielder. Sora was a god, did he even really need weapons? Guess he did, if he also needed a house to live in as well.]

It's nice. I--do I really have a choice whether I like it or not? I mean, it's your house. But yeah, it's nice.

[Sora crosses his arms.] What do you mean? Of course you get a choice. This is your place too! If you want to change anything you can, I don't mind.

[He gives Riku a reassured look.] I'm new to this god thing so I don't know really what to expect but this place is gonna be our home for a while!

Okay, I'll keep it in mind.

[This may well mean covering the entire floor of the house in sand, just to see if he can get away with it.]

Yeah, you still gotta practice the whole 'not dropping your weapons' part, at the very least.

[Sora would probably find an entire house layered with sand ridiculously hilarious. And then make sand angels.]

H-hey! We only tried the one time, okay? When we come up with a real ayakashi, I'll be ready.

[With that Sora pulls out his phone and clicks through it with a confused look for a second before showing it to Riku. There, listed was their assignment for prayer #3.]

See? Look, we got a job already and I'll kick butt with your cards. I'll prove it!

We'll see.

[Skeptical Riku is skeptical. And wonders if he might be able to choose he cards while Sora draws them. He was so surprised by the whole thing the first time that he didn't even try to do anything, even scold Sora.

He's so not admitting he needs practice being a weapon.]

A job? We have jobs? [He leans over to check the phone's screen. Sure enough, there's...well, it's more of a request than a job.]

That's for us? What are we supposed to do?

[Oh yeah, it was supposed to be Sora’s job to teach Riku about this stuff. He had a very base knowledge himself though, so Sora wasn’t sure how to explain everything. He was more of a do now think later kind of person…]

Yeah! Uhhh, well I’m a god because I was born here through someone’s wishes. And I need prayers so I can stick around. If we don’t work, I think I disappear or something.

[He was really going to have to ask Data-Roxas a bunch of stuff about this later.]

So this prayer, we have to go quiet down whatever is making noise in this neighborhood. It’s probably an ayakashi. And since I’m a god of peace, this is a great job for us!

[Blind leading the blind here. Fun times!]

What? Really? ...Does that mean I'll disappear as well, if you do...?

[That would be bad. He doesn't want EITHER of them to disappear.]

Okay...so if it's one of these ayakashi...do you even know what we're looking for? What it looks like? Does your phone say that?

[Sorry Sora, he's gonna try to grab your phone to see if there's any more details.]

[Sora gives Riku a quizzical look.] I don't...really know what will happen to you if I disappear...

[This is something he should probably know. Another thing to ask Data-Roxas later.]

But that's besides the point! We're gonna work hard and get prayers!

[He's gonna let Riku take his phone.]

I don't know what ayakashi look like either. I think it depends on the bad energy at the time or something? I think we should just go for it and figure it out when we get there. You wanna go now?

Let's...let's not find out...

Now's as good a time as any, it's not like we have anything else to do.

[Besides tour the house, but honestly potentially fighting sounds more interesting than that. The house'll likely be there when they're done.]

[It was still dark outside by the time that they arrived (thank you divine teleportation). It was probably well past midnight now but Sora wasn't too tired yet.

The neighborhood was dark and the air felt cold. Some houses still had lights on in some windows. Sora stood weightlessly on top of a fence post with this hands in his pockets to keep them warm.

Somewhere close by he could hear the insistent chatter of people arguing and noise making a ruckus. He could already feel the negative energy.]

So all we have to do is make those people settle down, I think.

[Teleportation was cool. Unfortunately, Riku doesn't land as well as Sora, miss-stepping and stumbling into the fence just after arriving. He's still wearing his party kimono--no one prevented him from leaving with it, so he figured it was okay, plus it's already coming in handy since the only shirt he currently has is sleeveless.]

Just that? Isn't that what the police are for?

[Not that he's not going to just jump in and try to shut them up, marching over to where the voices are coming from.]

Hey, go find somewhere else to argue. People are trying to sleep!

[It does quiet down...for about two seconds, so it's unclear whether or not they actually paid any attention to Riku or just had a lull in the argument. Not that it matters, it still annoys him.]

What the--don't ignore me!

I don’t know if the police can really do anything when- Riku! Wait up!

[Riku’s hasty and Sora follows after him with a worried expression. The people did seem to ignore Riku’s shout (of course they would, they were human and Riku was a soul) and continued to scream and argue with each other, clacking around what sounded to be glasses or bottles. Great, where they angry and drunk?

That poor baby trying to sleep… Being a god of peace, this was making Sora a little irritated himself. The prayer was pretty close to his heart right now.

As if on cue with his concern, there’s a loud clicking noise from somewhere behind them. The negative energy that was starting to brew up from the noisy humans was starting to breed an ayakashi... Sora turned towards the noise just in time to be face to face with a giant spider, fangs glistening and eyeballs wild.]

Oh...crap...

[Of course they were angry and drunk, because that's their luck. There's even a small pile of empty bottles near the group, and Riku picks one up, raising it like he's about to hit one of them to see if that gets their attention. He quickly changes his mind, tossing the bottle at someone's shoulder instead and turning back to Sora.

This starts a minor fight, but he fails to notice that in favor of the thing behind Sora.]

Wh-where did that thing come from?! Is that what we're supposed to get rid of?

[Sora reacts quickly and summons his keyblade in a flash and beat back the spider with a three hit combo. The spider seemed totally unaffected by the damage and was only pushed back. Sora's keyblades would have no effect on these creatures. It was only shinki that could kill ayakashi.]

That's what the arguing made! These things are attracted to the crap energy!

[The spider reared and squealed and Sora pushes it back again with another few smashes of his keyblade.]

Uhh, I think this is where I do the thing?

[WHAT THING SORA?]

What are you talking about?

[He summons a sword himself (don't ask him how he knew he could, he just did), and goes after the spider, aiming for the legs first, and then the underside. His hits had slightly more of an effect on the thing, creating sizeable gashes where they connected...gashes that healed over almost immediately.]

Rrgh!

[Sora is actually quite impressed that Riku had his weapon and did what he did. Appreciative for the stun that it gave the spider, Sora jumps up ontop of it and holds on.]

Your cards, Riku!

[If they didn't take care of this spider quickly it might make mince meat out of the both of them. And he wasn't about to let anyone get hurt. Holding onto the spider as it rears, Sora looks down at his keyblade for a moment with a sad glint in his eye.

It was useless here.

He dissipated it.

He then looked at Riku.]

Stun it one more time!

...Got it!

[Easier said than done, at least right away, as he has to dodge an attempt by the spider to impale him. He aims for the face this time, jumping up to embed the blade in the middle of its many eyes. It squeals again and he finds it surprising that the humans nearby don't even notice it.]

[Sora let out a happy whoop when Riku kicks some serious butt and is almost thrown off the spider but he just barely manages to hang on tight.

Now it would be easier for him to handle.

With the correct incantation, Sora calls Riku's vessel.]

Okaki!

[Riku would vanish and the cards would appear in his hands. Okay Sora don't screw this up.]

[Both the blade and Riku disappear at the same time. Riku's more prepared for it this time.]

Don't--egh nevermind...numbers are attacks, the higher the stronger.

[This time Sora didn't drop the cards and was actually pretty pleased with himself. He grins and was about to whoop but the spider was still trying to buck him off.]

Okay, higher numbers, got it!

[Sora was actually pretty glad he had Riku here to help him. Riku Replica had the same tough love attitude that normal Riku did and Sora actually found himself pretty appreciative of that.

He pulls the top card and is surprised with a seven. The dark energy starts to form immediately and Sora aims downwards at the spider. It blows a pretty nasty hole through the spider and Sora has to leap away, landing on the pavement.]

Whoa! Riku, you're so cool!

Uh, thanks? I didn't really do anything, but okay.

[Aside from existing and--well, he kinda inadvertently saved Sora some hassle by getting him off the spider. That's a good way to acquire some serious blight, hanging out on top of an ayakashi like that.]

So is it dead yet? I hope it doesn't heal from that too.

[Sora just laughs and shakes his head. Riku better get used to Sora complimenting him. Sora had to rely completely on Riku's cards to get him through these prayers! Without him he'd be a stick in the mud.

The spider was wailing loudly on the ground, half on fire with purple flames and the gaping hole making a big mess. Gross. He better finish this off.]

Just one more, I think!

[Sora pulls another card this time it was a four. Not nearly as strong as a seven but hopefully it would do? The dark energy collects and Sora aims as best he could. It was still so tricky getting used to this fighting style. Luckily Sora just barely manages to hit it and the spider wails and explodes in a swirl of colorful light.

The alley went quiet.]

Phew... at least we didn't get hurt. Revert!

[Oh, guess it's not actually dead, just in death throes. Damn thing. He should probably tell Sora there are more attacks than just the dark energy blast--like the sword, for example--but perhaps he'll let Sora figure that out. Or just master the basics and then go on.]

I'm surprised, since that thing got right up behind you.

[Movement is his friend. He's only been cards twice now, but he does like being able to move freely. And is going to leave Sora briefly to go check on the status of their drunk friends.

...Who have apparently decided to call a truce, now that the giant anger-hate spider has been defeated, and are more quietly talking and even laughing a little with each other.]

[Sora stretchs his arms over his head and yawns loudly. This god work was pretty exhausting.

But as the peace returned to the area Sora could feel the prayer being complete. It felt nice, like an energy had entered him. Maybe helping people and fulfilling prayers wouldn't be all that bad.

He bounces after Riku to look as well.]

I guess that's it then, huh? We did it. Time to go home.

[He regards Riku for a second. It was still so strange seeing Riku Replica. But they had worked together so naturally. He couldn't help himself and he gave Riku a big hug.]

I'm so glad you're my shinki!

Go home? Already? That can't have been the only thing causing all the trouble.

[Though he pauses after saying it, noting that yeah, the small party did seem to be the source of most of the noise and it was quieter.

And then Sora attacks.]

S-Sora! I--what--I'm...glad you're happy?

[Why hugs what is this? Sora is being pushed at, but only half-heartedly, since Rep's mostly just surprised.]

[Sora laughs and gives Riku another appreciative squeeze before he lets go and pokes him in the cheek.] I am! You should be too! Without you I'm pretty much a sitting duck against ayakashi. [No offence Donald wherever you are.]

[Sora gazes again at the small party. They were talking in soft hushed voices now. He wasn't exactly sure how getting rid of that ayakashi had them settle down but it seemed to work so he wasn't going to complain.]

Bad energy can make ayakashi, so I guess when we got rid of it, that went away. That baby will be able to sleep now!

[Okay, he gives. He will accept his extra hug...and cheek poke.]

Not entirely. You have that...key-thing. Even if it was pretty useless, I guess.

[Shrug. It bought him a minute. He hopes that he doesn't have to hang around Sora constantly just in case he gets attacked by another one.]

It's not...

[This comment wounds Sora a bit. His keyblade... useless? That... that hurt.

Deep inside, Sora's been kind of upset that his keyblade can't be used in the way it was intended to be used and although outwardly Sora had been keeping that to himself, actually hearing it makes Sora wilt like a kicked puppy.

He takes a quick breath and smiles, trying to wave off the thought.]

Yeah I guess it is, isn't it? Haha... That's okay though!

[If it makes Sora feel better at all, this may as well be the first time Riku's ever seen a keyblade in his life, and it was kind of useless in this situation so it just made a terrible first impression.]

Besides, my blade was just as useless, remember? The stupid thing healed all the damage I did to it.

[Sora's smiling again, pushing the negative feeling to the back of his brain. He knew it wasn't Riku's fault about the comment but it was still an adjustment for Sora. His keyblade was a part of his soul and he didn't want to think about how it was useless here.

He's gonna change the subject now!]

Let's go home, okay? I'm getting sleepy. I gotta show you the rest of the house too!

[He yawns and pats Riku on the back.]
