Stray animals and team building! - closed
Who: Elfnein, Ram, and Ken
When: July 24/25
Where: Park, and other areas the stray cats are gathering.
What: Prayer #43
[ Elfnein has heard the prayer for helping out the stray animals in the nearby area, she can’t really say no to animals that need help. Plus it’s only for a few days that someone needs to help feed and make sure nothing happens to them; so she’s enlisted the help of her shinki and has bags of food and bowls ready to go. ]
I brought bowls and food for us to use, we need to make sure things are spread out so they’re not blocking one area for people.
[ Using her free hand she starts drawing a map in the air with her power, the lines and arrows glow softly and stay lit while she starts to explain the game plan. ]
For now we can stay together and spilt up the work.

Wouldn't it be better to call the proper authorities? I heard the local government employs individuals for just this situation.
[ Let's call the pound! Or the Japanese equivalent of the ASPCA or something. Mostly because animals are messy and gross and she wants nothing to do with these animals because it's going to be a pain. ]
I should handle the map. With my ability can scout the surrounding areas quickly.
[ Also it would probably be less work. ]

[You don't pray to animal control, do you?
[Ken? Not at all bothered by any of this. Maybe he doesn't know much about anything right now, but he's getting the feeling he's not at all bothered about ending up with dirt under his nails. Or with carrying what must be the world's biggest bag of cat food, for that matter, and that only seems like the right thing to do teamed up with . It's not that heavy, or he doesn't think it is anyway: it's just kind of an awkward size. Stray cats? Bring it.]
I don't mind carrying this stuff.
[Did he actually need to say that? No, probably not. Not when he's already holding the bag.
[Still. Better than Elfnein figuring it was up to her.]

[ Unless you count cat cuddles as dangerous. ]
[ She gives a small nod and smile to Ken, at least one shinki wants to be helpful. ]
Asking the local authorities might end with a lot of these cats and other animals being taken to shelters or put in places that might result in them being put down compared to being taken care of.

Nor is she the friendliest, shooting at first at look to her compatriot, first almost accusatory, before she realizes something clearly important, and up turns her hands into a shrug. ]
I see. I suppose it's helpful to have a pack animal around.
[ Yeah, that's most definitely a put-down, seeing how she's quick to hurry up to Elfnein's side. ]
What do you need of me then, Elfnein-sama?
no subject
[Pack animal yourself.
[And don't think I didn't notice you sucking up to the resident deity, either. Right teacher's pet, this one. Ken doesn't think he likes people like that, and he's getting the distinct feeling that he wasn't all that good at school.]
And this'd go by a lot quicker if I wasn't the only one working round here. OR are you expecting her to carry it?
['Cause she's twelve.
[And a God.
[Aren't we supposed to be here to help?]
no subject
[ It's like oil and water with these two. ]
Ram can you help carry some of the items? It doesn't have to be all of it we can split it up equally.
no subject
It doesn't extend to her coworkers though. Not that she has literally any reason to dislike him at all, she just isn't... friendly. ]
Of course, Master. Anyone getting angry over such a trivial matter would be the epitome of a trivial person.
[ See how helpful she can be even? As Ram moves to take some of bags of food simply slinging them over her shoulder heavy as they are as if they weigh absolutely nothing. Oni strength is nothing to shake a stick at after all. ]
no subject
[Apart from Ken.
[Because really, what's with the attitude? All he wants is to get out and doing. There's cats to feed, come on, can we not just get the boring bit over with and go make friends with some homeless cats?]
If it's so damn trivial then what's the big deal? Why not just get on with it?
no subject
[ Elfnein gets that Ram doesn't like having competition but this trip is to help become better friends. ]
Ken if you ignore some of the comments Ram is making then it will go faster?
no subject
[ Ram's certainly not angry. Being out means a distraction from the norm, where she'd probably be cleaning or at least pretending to clean anyway. But she can't help the chance to try to put herself on top in this pecking order that she's decided all on her own.
Becoming better friends was never on her mind. ]
What happens if the cats follow us home?
no subject
[That doesn't sound too bad, actually. God knows he's finding it hard to feel entirely at home around a bunch of books. Nothing against books, and certainly not against Elfnein, but Ken is getting to know himself a little better and his experimental sallies into the libraryu have left him either bored, confused, or bored and confused. A few cats couldn't do any harm and would liven the place up considerably.
[He wonders how deep his pockets are, and how big the cats.]
Actually, that'd be pretty cool. They are strays, right? No homes?
no subject
[ She's never had a pet before and having something to take care of might help everyone get along more. ]
