Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods and shinki



The product of many meetings and recommendations, at last it has taken shape. On this day, in anticipation of the new arrivals who appear in a recognized pattern, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.

The shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. And in that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo.

Here the newly arrived gods are gathered, so finding their partner is more simple. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the aspects of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki, or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.




Divine Bureaucracy

Wasn't it the newly revamped Shinki Agency's job to assign shinki this time... They thought it was the original team of Amaterasu's shinki's job this one last time before Shinki Agency took over the responsibility. Needless to say, when the shinki wake up at the Meeting Hall, there's a lot of shouting. Eventually, one of the Shinki Agency representatives herds the new shinki together and instructs them to please all go to Bishamonten's temple for the time being and they will send a runner with the god-shinki assignments as soon as they can.

New gods and old gods alike will not be notified that there is a mix-up unless they come to Bishamon's temple for Training, until the Shinki Agency can figure out what happened.

Important addendum: For this round, gods still have a vision of how their shinki died, however they can't make out any details, particularly about who they saw die.
Once a shinki of the Agency gives the god the name of their shinki, the god is then able to find them by name. Once they give their shinki a vessel name the god will have the full vision of how their shinki died.

This addition comes in response to some questions and need for clarification. Apologies and thank you for your input.

God Training

Bishamon herself, as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods, will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves get oriented with when they arrive.

Shinki Training

Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Bishamon's lead shinki Kazuma offers a lecture to new arrivals that will thoroughly cover some essential points about teamwork with both shinki and other gods.

Physical Training

The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) Essential for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
Also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.

Rest and Refreshments

There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

• New Gods: take what information you can from Amaterasu's shinki (see FAQ) while waiting to find out if you've been assigned a shinki

[ Hibiki had been on her way back to her lounge chair from obtaining tea in the refreshment area (she has run out of the supply she brought, for some reason) when, all of a sudden, a rubber bullet shatters the teacup she'd been carrying in front of herself.

Now thoroughly baffled, she looks around with a discombobulated look on her handsome face. What...? ]

[ This isn't someone that he's met before, but that's certainly not going to stop Souji from approaching - when has it ever? So he assesses as he works, head tilted just slightly and his uchigatana held absently in his grip, relaxed and sheathed just in case someone's not paying attention. There are, after all, a lot of busy people milling around, wandering to and from, so he's being safe.

But in this particular case, he thinks maybe he should say something. Even at the risk of startling him out of his focus.

He doesn't make the mistake of standing behind him, at least. ] You know, your grip's a little low for a sword of that size.

That's not necessarily true. A lot of things exist that aren't necessary.

[Like jerks and awful curry made by people that can't cook or weaklings.]

So what are you going to do about being stuck here? I'm all for playing along but I really am not planning on just doing what the 'Heavens' want. My world is more important to me then that.

[Helping is fine. Staying long term...not so much. It's hard for her to know how to present her name. There are so many different people from different worlds and she knows it can be arranged differently depending on culture. Typically it's family name first though so..]

Konami Kirie. I may not be a death god like you but I am one of the top agents in Boarder. Number three Attacker. [Proud as she may sound, she knows the meaning in lost on everyone here. So she's quick to add:]

Boarder Agents defend the world from Neighbors, or invaders in other terms, that want to cause harm.

[That's really all she's willing to give out about it. Basic public knowledge. After all, there's no telling if Hitsugaya comes from a hostile world that may invade hers one day. But for now, they're more or less on the same page.]

[ While Bishamon oversees some of the training, Souji decides to approach her, giving a polite tilt of his head in greeting. At first, it's just to join her. Observing, arms folded behind his back, just - assessing, in a way. Taking in everyone that's come to the training, new and old faces alike. ]

Thank you for opening your temple up to this, Bishamon. I think it's really helped with bridging the gap between all of us. [ It isn't the only thing he wants to talk to her about, but he thinks this, above all else, should be said. She's gone and opened her home, after all. ]

[Diana's been doing a lot of nothing today while waiting for word on where she's going and who she'll be living with. And now she's doing even greater amounts of nothing in the refreshment area. With no thoughts or feelings toward others whatsoever, she's nonchalantly stealing an entire plate of cookies to much on.

it's during her getaway that Diana notices the blue haired girl sitting on a floating oar. Her eyes widen a bit as she picks up a sugar cookie off her plate and bites into it delicately. She doesn't say anything, just silently looks her up and down as if sizing her up.]

Same as you, I suppose. Unless there's a way to leave, there's no point in starting anything that would warrant unnecessary [or unwanted] attention. For now, I can only hope that my comrades back home are able to continue without me.

He absorbs the knowledge. It's nothing like anything he's heard of before, but at least he can easily adapt and accept things for what it is to a particular extent. But he does study her, quiet for a moment.]

Good enough that you won't need to worry about making an enemy out of me. [For now, but she doesn't seem too bad aside from calling him 'kid' or 'shrimp'.] But these "Neighbors" - they come from other worlds?

[Oh sh--- Kirie's face instantly turns red. She leans back in her seat and has to turn away from Hibiki. It's too bright! Her words are too flattering! SHE DOESNT EVEN KNOW YOU, HIBIKI!! Does that make them more true? Kirie doesn't know! Her head is spinning from that alone.]

S-Stop with the flattery. I mean, thank you but it's so nice of you to say. Do you really mean all that? I don't even know your name.

[Kirie is flailing all the while. This princely aura is too much! She can't fight this like she can everything else]

I am new, yes. I've been here less than a day.

[Nanako, huh. And Inaba. Inaba sounds...weirdly familiar. Like something she'd heard about on television, but then it's not really important exactly.]

Nanako-chan then. And I've read about Nanshe in books. She was really important to the people in Sumeria. And all over Mesopotamia, too.

[Well that's a big word, but maybe Nanako will get it?]

I'm Futaba Sakura. I guess it's nice to meet you? I mean, aside from all the insane things happening today.

[Quickly, he reaches out to catch Hibiki before she completely falls over.

Lavi smiles innocently.]

[She shrugs.]

Nah, go crazy. Sojiro smokes all the time, I'm used to it.

Robin Hood...[Futaba makes a less than thrilled sound under her breath at that name, but then shakes it off. No sense worrying a little kid.]

Is it, though? Let's say you could steal the part of someone that makes them do evil things. So they'd be good. Would that be bad?

That icon makes her look like a supervillain.

[She hasn't exactly tried to be super duper subtle. She doesn't want to set you on the defensive yet.]

And...if someone was interested in finding a place in this new heaven?

[ Kirie getting flustered only encourages Hibiki. It's reassuring to remember that no matter how tumultuous the world may grow, her own charm is eternal.

She puts a hand over her heart. ] Shikyoin Hibiki.

[ May she reach out and try to turn your face her way with a finger beneath your chin? ] Now we're intimately acquainted.

[ That adjective was probably unnecessary, Your Majesty. ]

Magical Girl Development planning?

[She turns that sentence over in her head a couple times.]

Like, making shows, you mean? You aren't actually raising magical girls or something right?

[She was a god now anything was possible.]

[He was simply minding his own business, really.

There have been some people he's been training with, so it's only natural that even he would get something to drink. He's familiar with pushing himself, but going all out here to train might be dangerous. However, the moment he feels something prodding at him, his eyes narrows sharply and he immediately turns to where he felt that prodding from.

It didn't feel physical, mental maybe, and that's enough to raise his shackles. It doesn't take him long to notice a suspicious shadow that seemed oar-shaped, prompting him to look up at her.]

there was a string of episodes where every. damn. episode. ended. on a shot of hibiki looking evil.

That can likely be arranged.

[ Drawn to her charisma already? This would be a new record, were Hibiki not accustomed to winning hearts with a mere glance. But to win a fan with a single word of revolution--!

This is a new experience, and one she relishes. ]

[ Botan also doesn't come with a family name, so they're going to have to refer to each other in a familiar manner no matter what. It'd be weird if only one person was doing it. ]

You certainly have a thorough and productive plan of getting that done, then.

[ Hey, she's not going to knock it. Being the best instead of being a menace? That sounds like a positive enough thing to encourage.

I'll certainly keep you in mind if that happens, then. In fact I believe they have all of the gods' numbers available for people. Which god are you assigned to being?

True. I don't think the higher ups here would care too much for that. We had to be brought here for a reason, I have a hard time believing it's random...

[But she can't say how. She doesn't know enough, this world is too new. For now, its better to just play by the rules...at least for the most part. She doesn't say anything when he mentions comrades, though her gaze does narrow. The feeling is mutual but she waves it off. No getting sentimental.]

I'm not worried about having you as an enemy. If we work together I don't want you slowing me down with dead weight.

[Protecting someone is one thing. Dragging around someone that was weak into battle or trying to relay on them was pointless and way more trouble then it was worth. She doesn't have time to babysit---that's not a jab at his height either]

Yeah...we call them Neighbors. They attack mostly looking for resources and Trion. It doesn't matter whats in the way. Boarder was made to protect against them.

[She gives a small shrug not really wanting to go into too much detail. Not after that last large scale invasion.]

[Bullseye! Only now the boy is looking around and Diana still has the gun in her hand. Time to get rid of the evidence. She hurriedly shoves the bullets in the pocket of her skirt and drops the gun to dojo floor, giving it a quick kick toward whatever poor sap happens to be standing by the weapons now. Then she starts shouting in a British accent.]

How could you do such an awful thing? You could have hit his hand!

[Alas, poor sap, your noble sacrifice won't be forgotten.]

[ For a moment a horrible thought crosses Hibiki's mind. What if.

But no, he doesn't have the cunning for that. (Does he?) ]

...Someone has a. Rather poor sense of humor.

I always liked the size of the phones- though these are sleeker than I'd have expected.

[ She couldn't remember exactly, but her general knowledge put them at being... Bulkier? Heavier, certainly. ]

It'd make sense that they didn't keep getting smaller though, right? If you can read all this information on them, it'd be quite a strain on a tiny screen!

It's a work in progress. I'll fine tune it as I learn more about this place.

[Yep. That's the plan but really, she can't do much else. This is only day one. At least it's better then sitting around and doing nothing. Shinki wise she could understand that but all the gods here have no excuse. Unless they're lazy and weak.]

Oh...hm, I believe it was Sif. A Norse god.
