The product of many meetings and recommendations, at last it has taken shape. On this day, in anticipation of the new arrivals who appear in a recognized pattern, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.

The shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. And in that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo.

Here the newly arrived gods are gathered, so finding their partner is more simple. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the aspects of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki, or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.




Divine Bureaucracy

Wasn't it the newly revamped Shinki Agency's job to assign shinki this time... They thought it was the original team of Amaterasu's shinki's job this one last time before Shinki Agency took over the responsibility. Needless to say, when the shinki wake up at the Meeting Hall, there's a lot of shouting. Eventually, one of the Shinki Agency representatives herds the new shinki together and instructs them to please all go to Bishamonten's temple for the time being and they will send a runner with the god-shinki assignments as soon as they can.

New gods and old gods alike will not be notified that there is a mix-up unless they come to Bishamon's temple for Training, until the Shinki Agency can figure out what happened.

Important addendum: For this round, gods still have a vision of how their shinki died, however they can't make out any details, particularly about who they saw die.
Once a shinki of the Agency gives the god the name of their shinki, the god is then able to find them by name. Once they give their shinki a vessel name the god will have the full vision of how their shinki died.

This addition comes in response to some questions and need for clarification. Apologies and thank you for your input.

God Training

Bishamon herself, as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods, will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves get oriented with when they arrive.

Shinki Training

Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Bishamon's lead shinki Kazuma offers a lecture to new arrivals that will thoroughly cover some essential points about teamwork with both shinki and other gods.

Physical Training

The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) Essential for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
Also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.

Rest and Refreshments

There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

• New characters are welcome to ask old characters if this mix-up is common (spoilers: it's not)

• New Gods: take what information you can from Amaterasu's shinki (see FAQ) while waiting to find out if you've been assigned a shinki
• Veteran gods and shinki are welcome to volunteer showing the ropes
• Get in some training
• Don't get dehydrated
• Spectate if you want

Ah well. Hibiki recovers from her momentary despair. She'll also try to lead Futaba off to the side, so no one will get in their way for this discussion. ] I never thought someone here would share my tastes. Perhaps our meeting was fated.

[ It's highly unlikely, if you're saying "French" instead of "Prance", that you've heard of the Very Best Phantom Thief, but that cannot be helped. ]

I'm not really sure anything is fated. Even if we are hanging out with gods suddenly. I'm more of a make-my-own-path kind of girl.

[Or she hoped she was. And was trying to be.]

But hey it's nice to meet you? What do you know about Phantom Thieves huh?

They are the pinnacle of noble roguery, playing the villain for an esteemed aim.

[Futaba's eyes narrowed a bit at that.]

Well that's the definition, yes. But it doesn't really say anything about them. I mean you basically just described Robin Hood.

Were you hoping for something more specific?

[ She aims to satisfy the audience, you see. Pleasing a hard sell now and then isn't so bad. ]

Well yeah. I know the basics already!

i hope you don't mind this going into huge mixup territory - hibiki MEANS to brag about being hot...

[ Hibiki considers. ]

Phantom Thieves are doomed to be misunderstood. Their skills are great enough that even with the handicap of sending a calling card, the foolish forces claiming to uphold the law can only rush around like hamsters spinning backwards on a wheel.

[ Sometimes, the police are hamsters spinning backwards on a wheel, but that might be a special case. ]

And they're especially good [ she savors this moment ] at stealing hearts.

Oh dear. haha.

[Futaba was terrible at hiding her emotions, so there was, at various times, concern, confusion, perhaps a hint of light fear, and then something like accusatory curiosity across her face as she listened to Hibiki talk.]

...How do you know all that?

[Because that seemed really, really specific to her own life and it was all really not public information at all...]

"we have to stop all the girls in town from finding the thief so damn hot" is an. episode plot.

[ Hibiki smirks. Didn't she say she knew everything? That parade of emotions was...interesting, to be sure, what was fear doing in there...but she also doesn't want to blow her own cover, so she'd better take a different tack. ]

Do you have a favorite Phantom Thief?

[ You can't possibly, say, have heard of Phantom Thief Genius.... ]

That seems like a terrible plan.

Well, I don't know. None of the phantom thieves back home are public. We don't know their names or anything!

[Yes, she had a favorite, but she couldn't exactly say that!]

I just love the idea, I suppose.

There's a certain liberated feeling to it, isn't there?

[ Hibiki nods, satisfied. Phantom Thief Genius will raise the curtains on Masquerade Night here, as well, sooner or later. And she knows exactly whose (figurative, romantic) heart is already as good as hers.

Collaterally, of course. Her true objectives are always pure. ] A sense of revolution.

It sure sounds like it would be!

[Yes that's the ticket, Futaba. Lies that aren't lies. She did grin though.]

And making evil people change their ways is probably a really great feeling.

[ Aaand you lost her. Hibiki blinks. ]

...I wouldn't call their audiences evil.

[ Even when she was pursuing her own thievery for the sake of remaking the world, she was doing it for the sake of everyone who didn't realize how tepid their world had grown. ]

Audiences? What are-

[Futaba cut off, eyes narrowed, peering at the girl over the rims of her glasses for a count of maybe three. And then her hand came up, pushing the frames back up her nose.]

You mean their fans, right? Fan clubs and stuff?

Among others.

[ Hibiki, on the other hand, is the picture of unflappability. ]

Not all who witness genius at work appreciate it immediately.

[ ...she's just indulging herself now. ]

No I...guess not.

[Futaba is definitely uncertain how phantom thieves work where this girl comes from but it is clearly different from back home. Which...was a complicated problem to parse, really.]

So what do they do? Where you're from.

But. How to succinctly summarize Masquerade Time? The glory of the curtain opening, the mirror ball full of casablanca flowers and calling cards... ]

Obtain the items righteousness requires that more limited minds would consider off-limits, I suppose.

[ Nailed it. ]

Well that sounds really fancy but doesn't actually tell me anything.

[She's got a sour look now.]

To rephrase would detract from their glory.
