Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods and shinki



The product of many meetings and recommendations, at last it has taken shape. On this day, in anticipation of the new arrivals who appear in a recognized pattern, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.

The shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. And in that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo.

Here the newly arrived gods are gathered, so finding their partner is more simple. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the aspects of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki, or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.




Divine Bureaucracy

Wasn't it the newly revamped Shinki Agency's job to assign shinki this time... They thought it was the original team of Amaterasu's shinki's job this one last time before Shinki Agency took over the responsibility. Needless to say, when the shinki wake up at the Meeting Hall, there's a lot of shouting. Eventually, one of the Shinki Agency representatives herds the new shinki together and instructs them to please all go to Bishamonten's temple for the time being and they will send a runner with the god-shinki assignments as soon as they can.

New gods and old gods alike will not be notified that there is a mix-up unless they come to Bishamon's temple for Training, until the Shinki Agency can figure out what happened.

Important addendum: For this round, gods still have a vision of how their shinki died, however they can't make out any details, particularly about who they saw die.
Once a shinki of the Agency gives the god the name of their shinki, the god is then able to find them by name. Once they give their shinki a vessel name the god will have the full vision of how their shinki died.

This addition comes in response to some questions and need for clarification. Apologies and thank you for your input.

God Training

Bishamon herself, as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods, will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves get oriented with when they arrive.

Shinki Training

Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Bishamon's lead shinki Kazuma offers a lecture to new arrivals that will thoroughly cover some essential points about teamwork with both shinki and other gods.

Physical Training

The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) Essential for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
Also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.

Rest and Refreshments

There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

[Shion looks ahead and pretends to check just in case. But yes, looks like nothing happened.]

Seems like it. But, you did say loud and often enough. Perhaps that wasn't quite loud enough.

[He smiles and then crumples the pamphlet and returns it to his pocket. The he steps up to give it a go. He inhales and copies her movement and shouts.]

Borderline!!

[Surprisingly enough the movement of his hand makes a loud spark and a line forms in front of Shion. It fizzles out quickly but it's enough for him to take a startled step backwards.]

[Celty shrank back a bit at the shout, looking about as surprised as Merrill had been. She hadn't really meant anything by it, nor had she meant to be so intimidating. In fact the offered wooden sword had gotten a bit closer than intended because all of this was a pretense to get a closer look at the elf's ears.

The helmeted woman waves, trying to clear the air and the misunderstanding until hey both calm down some. At the comment of having her own weapon, Celty's helmet cants to the side a bit, a little bob of curiosity of what she means.]

[Celty takes a bit of notice of Bishamon, but she doesn't make any moves to approach her. Instead she remains focused on the training dummy before her.

Her hand waves a few times, a few false starts before she finally gets a borderline to appear, but it sputters a bit and her shadow seems to writhe at the same time. She tries again and it goes more smoothly this time but she has the look of someone who is clenching or putting more effort than needed to perform a task.

Finally she gets frustrated and then lashes out, raising a hand and a reflective sphere of shadow wraps around the dummy. She turns away from it then, crossing her arms in a huff as she stews in her tantrum.]

[Shion laughs softly.]

That sounds nice.

[So they can just be normal around here too, that's a nice thought.]

Is there any place I can get books around here?

[asterflower]

[He is a little startled when she touches his forehead but she's so sweet he just lets out a small awkward laugh and stays put like a good patient.]

Honestly, I don't feel sick at all. I was so worried I was when I saw my hair and eyes. I don't look very normal, I think.

She's the... You'll probably see her eventually, but she's the queen of the heavens.

The same way you'd kill a person. So far it seems to be stabbing and blunt force trauma.

[Knitting? He has no idea how to knit, he'd probably end up frustrated.]

Rest and Refreshments

[Celty doesn't have much need of the water, but she's still taking a nice rest for the sake of it. Practice is tiring, no matter how your recovery may vary. The shadows seem a bit darker where she's sitting, though it's hard to tell what's casting them. Still, seems like a nice cool place to sit.

But the helmeted woman seems friendly enough. At Makoto's question she nods and then pulls up a map app on her phone, showing her the general area, as well as typing out some directions where the maps fail to show the more spiritual nature of the local area.

Still, while she does this, she doesn't say a word.]

Shinki Training

[Celty's own training with borderlines has been a bit bumpy but it's moving along. Still, she can only go so long before she winds up getting frustrated. Her progress is there but she feels like it's been more...slippery than others.

She wanders off, taking another break, and in walking away she spots the orb floating by. Curious, she follows after it to see what it's doing. She doesn't expect it's an Ayakashi, not with all these Gods and Shinki about, but best not to take chances.

Deduction doesn't quite come yet though. For now she's simply tailing the thing.]

[Lady you use a lot of odd words, but that's okay.]

Tot knows that! Different chemicals make the colors and flavors. The color usually tells what each one is going to taste like, so the purple one is grape and the dark red is cherry.

But Who Was Phone?

[After punching in a bunch of numbers at random there's a pause. And then a jazzy ringtone begins to sound out from the training fields nearby. The helmeted woman jumps as her phone starts to do a little dance inside her jacket, the black scythe she's wielding going high and cutting the head off of the training dummy.]

[Shion stares right back for a long few seconds.

...

Oh- Is Ryuji expecting him to know??]

Ermm- [Excuse him while he pulls out like four crumpled pamphlets he grabbed from earlier and starts pouring over them.]

Ahh. ... Here. The passage.

[Then he hands it to Ryuji. It details the ritual and the words Ryuji is suppose to say to invoke his name.]

Wh- oh! Hold on... [Carefully, he starts to press along where the oar hit, paying any mind to anywhere that might still be sore.] I think I should be fine now, thank you.

[He feels the need to bow is head in return. What a long name... says the character with no last name]

It's very nice to meet you, Maria-san. Or... Should I call you Nuada Airgetlám?

[Did he pronounce that right?]

[No comment on the bird eyes thing.]

[Instead, he just holds them close to her eyes- not putting them on her, exactly, but close enough for her to see through them. Enjoy that bit of strangeness, Merill.]

Training

[Celty was working hard at her training, but it was tiring work, especially when making a borderline was being stubborn for one reason or another. She slumped against a post, bent over slightly as if she were catching her breath. The yellow of her helmet stood out nicely compared to the black of her outfit.

And then the bullet came, smacking nice and hard into the side of the plastic. She jerked back in surprise but the shock made her loose her focus, leaving a headless woman standing there as the helmet landed on the ground with a hollow thunk.]

[No. Breathe. He's not going to get angry at a kid. Instead, he puts on his best patient tone.]

Have you ever seen those Greek statues? The ones all white marble?

[Celty's helmet just sort of...cocks to the side at the request. She's familiar enough with people wanting to train like it's real, but given the situation they're in she's not entirely confident this girl didn't mean things exactly as she said.

The helmet then glances to the side, the visor almost side-eyeing her, as if to ask "Are you sure?"]

[And just like that, Wendy suddenly gives a spinning little backflip away, and doesn't stop as she twists on her heel to do the same but forward straight towards Diana like a spring toy out of hell. It's harder to hit something that's constantly moving, up and down, after all!]

Bureaucracy

[Celty's helmet just sort of lilts over at Riza at her comment, followed by a bit of an over the shoulder shrug. She then glances down, types something into her phone, and then offers it over to be read from.]

If it isn't typical then it's been going on for a while at least. Though when I showed up a few weeks ago it was messy in a different way.

[He's stopped, but not in an intended way really. Celty was stopping in to check if Sharak needed anything before she got back to her own training. Failing to find her she was looking around for her, but she was looking a little higher than Teddie's stature. She sees him when it's too late to stop and the young man is given a facefull of biker lady Shinki.]

[She then gave her hand out to her]
