Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods and shinki



The product of many meetings and recommendations, at last it has taken shape. On this day, in anticipation of the new arrivals who appear in a recognized pattern, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.

The shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. And in that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo.

Here the newly arrived gods are gathered, so finding their partner is more simple. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the aspects of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki, or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.




Divine Bureaucracy

Wasn't it the newly revamped Shinki Agency's job to assign shinki this time... They thought it was the original team of Amaterasu's shinki's job this one last time before Shinki Agency took over the responsibility. Needless to say, when the shinki wake up at the Meeting Hall, there's a lot of shouting. Eventually, one of the Shinki Agency representatives herds the new shinki together and instructs them to please all go to Bishamonten's temple for the time being and they will send a runner with the god-shinki assignments as soon as they can.

New gods and old gods alike will not be notified that there is a mix-up unless they come to Bishamon's temple for Training, until the Shinki Agency can figure out what happened.

Important addendum: For this round, gods still have a vision of how their shinki died, however they can't make out any details, particularly about who they saw die.
Once a shinki of the Agency gives the god the name of their shinki, the god is then able to find them by name. Once they give their shinki a vessel name the god will have the full vision of how their shinki died.

This addition comes in response to some questions and need for clarification. Apologies and thank you for your input.

God Training

Bishamon herself, as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods, will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves get oriented with when they arrive.

Shinki Training

Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Bishamon's lead shinki Kazuma offers a lecture to new arrivals that will thoroughly cover some essential points about teamwork with both shinki and other gods.

Physical Training

The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) Essential for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
Also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.

Rest and Refreshments

There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

• New characters are welcome to ask old characters if this mix-up is common (spoilers: it's not)
• New Shinki: Get all the information you can handle from the pamphlets provided (links above and see FAQ)
• New Gods: take what information you can from Amaterasu's shinki (see FAQ) while waiting to find out if you've been assigned a shinki
• Veteran gods and shinki are welcome to volunteer showing the ropes

• Don't get dehydrated

[Oh, wow, this person really seems to be ecstatic over meeting her from the way the other one was literally glowing. It'll take some time for Nike to really....think about it. Their response. Why was something about it giving her mixed signals? Hm.

Please, give her a few seconds to think about it.

This may be taking a lot of her newly dead brain power to administer.]

Oh! Of course! You're a god, aren't you!? You could be able to kinda determine that, right?

[Yes, she is taking the literal path in this whole thing. Clapping her hands together, feeling amaze by the other girl's (or boy's) performance, completely impress by it.]

Amazing! What you'd expect from a god. I hope my own deity will be as amazing as you are!

And I trust they'll understand what a treasure they've been bestowed.

[ A smooth, proud smile. Nike was indeed correct: this noble personage is a god. ] You're a new shinki?

[drizzle]

...treasure?

[Was it possible they can predict the vessel form she'll take before it happened? It'd be interesting to note if she'll really transform into one. Although, what would she be able to do if she did? The thought will leave her silent until she overhears the next question.]

Oh, yes, I am! It's my first day.

[And speaking of positions, Nike will turn her attention to the other's tea cup.]

Um, can I ask you something? About your tea cup? Is it special? Magic-wise?

[priforprince]

....Not especially.

[ Hibiki pauses with said teacup hefted in the air, ready to sip. She does not follow where this conversation is going. ]

[drizzle]

Then your tea cup is in danger!

[All said rather urgently as she reaches for the cup in an attempt to keep it away from the god's face while blocking the view from any potential threats, not really thinking of the idea to create a borderline beforehand.]

[priforprince]

Wha--?!

[ You're not making any sense. In fact, Hibiki is so startled, both by this statement and Nike's hands heading towards hers,

that she drops said teacup. ]

[drizzle]

[Watching the teacup falling will leave Nike stunned, she didn't expect the deity to get startled in the least bit. The whole ordeal felt like an eternity, almost like everything was moving in slow motion, giving her some hope in reaching for it. Nike will try, but will miss as the cup lands onto the ground.

It was more than enough to leave her beyond flabbergasted as she looked like she wanted to die right then and there, if she weren't already.

Sorry to whoever her god was, they'll be feeling their first sting from her. Nike almost looked like she wanted to cry in that instant.]

I-I'm so sorry!! I didn't...I only wanted to...I...I...I....

[She couldn't even warn someone without getting into trouble.]

[priforprince]

[ Hibiki seems more startled by this reaction than her teacup breaking. Then, after a moment of Nike's feelings sinking in, she reaches to try and brush Nike's lower eyelids with her thumb, ever so gently, just in case. Just because she doesn't understand doesn't mean she can't try to act her way out of this console a damsel in distress. ]

Tears don't become you, mademoiselle. Look.

[ And she produces....another teacup. ]

No harm done.

[And the damsel in distress will be watching the princely figure deity be kind and generous to her. She didn't expect them to react so calmly. Actually, she was expecting to be scolded, but will feel relieved all the same by that simple act of kindness.

When she is about to offer her gratitude for their kindness, they produce another tea cup.

Cue in the silence.]

[Give her a moment to think about it. Processing the appearance of another tea cup.]

[drizzle]

[Now the processing has to reach her brain to...]

Hah!? Where did this one come from!?

[Looking right up at the deity in question.]

Is this your power? Do you have the power to create more tea cups?

honestly, if i'd thought of the gag BEFORE i'd apped, she might well have ended up with InfiCups

[ Hibiki laughs. (And would dearly love that god power, but alas.) ] I just believe in convenience.

[ Especially when her staff is off doing something else. And she isn't about to disturb Wendy's shinki training. Hibiki is enjoying fostering the girl's talents. ]

My powers operate on a grander scale.

[ She waves a hand, and suddenly, Nike will look like she's wearing a fancy ballgown, complete with precious jewelry. If she tries to touch the fabric, her hands will whiff right through - it's just an illusion - but one wouldn't be able to tell by just looking. ]

it'd be hilarious if she did, but her having fairy godmother powers is pretty cool!

[drizzle]

Convenience?

[Did that mean she had more than one set of tea cups? It made her wonder and she would ask more about it until the other deity begins to showcase their powers. Her change of clothes was easy to notice considering it seem like it was glowing so brightly.]

W-Whoa!

[It was amazing! The clothes were definitely too good for her to wear, but she couldn't help admire it all the same. A bright smile will be seen.]

You have the power to change people's appearance to something amazing! You only changed my clothes, right?

[She'll begin to touch her hair to check there wasn't any change while twirling around to try and get a feel for the gown as she doubts she has warn anything like it before.]

[ Hibiki adjusts the illusion so the gown will swirl with Nike, though she may notice an absence of excess fabric swishing against her legs.

Nike's hair does remain unchanged, both in appearance and feel. Besides: ] I could hardly alter an existing masterpiece.

[ yeah, there appear to be no hard feelings ]

haha! hibiki is such a dear. that's a good reason to use it

[There will be a sigh of relief upon learning the other deity wasn't mad at her. It definitely help her feel a lot better.]

...t-thank you for showing me something so beautiful.

[It was strange the way she felt so comfortable being dressed up like this. It was a good comforting feeling to be a little spoiled. Even if she knew, rather felt, the item in question wasn't really there. But upon remembering the tea cup, Nike will turn to her quickly.]

I'll show you my gratitude for your kindness this time! Without causing another incident since I was trying to warn you before! [A pause as she turns her attention to the tea cup.] The reason I asked about your tea cup having special powers before is because there's a rumor going around the shinki training hall over destroying a specific god's tea cup will prove their abilities in creating borderlines. I just wanted to make sure you didn't get hurt by someone wanting to do that.

[ Hibiki has to repeat it, just to be sure she heard that correctly. Or perhaps to express her dumbfoundedness that such an inane suggestion is spreading. Take a guess.

She snorts, downplaying not the messenger (who is lovely) but the message (which is stupid). ] What a singularly juvenile rumor. Your concern speaks to your purity of heart, but, pay it no mind.

[ SHE CERTAINLY ISN'T. And what is Hibiki if not a stunning role model at all times? ]

[drizzle]

[There will be a nod of her head as she repeats the message. It was clear she was concerned for the other prince's safety when she has a large target on her tea cups. But when she shows not a whole lot of concern about it, Nike can't help grow worry.]

Are you sure? Knowing that your tea cups are targets?

[She can't help frown a little at the way the prince felt so calm about it. What should she do? It won't be long until a decision is formed.]

Fine. I'm going to stay here.

[She'll be taking a seat on the floor by the other deity's lounge chair as she faces the direction of the training hall for shinkis. It was clear she has no intention of leaving, acting a watch of sorts with her fingers already prepared for anything.]

[ Curious. Hibiki blinks. She's that earnest?

Over a stranger's property, and foolish gossip? ] It's hardly deserving of being taken that seriously....
