Who: Bandou, Celestia, Shouhei, Niles & Totsuka
When: Throughout July 26th
Where: Various temples + private texts
What: It's always nice when you get memories of your family back.
"Saburouta, let me see your test."
"Ah," Bandou hears himself say as a sense of unease runs through him. He reaches out, handing a sheet of paper to his mother, who then passes it on to his father. "...I studied really hard for this one. It's the best I've done all year. The teacher said she was very impressed with my improv--"
He's cut off by his father, who's expression very clearly states that he's not in agreement with his son's teacher. "Why did you get this one wrong?"
"I..uh..."
"And this one, as well. This one, especially, should have been simple for you." The man looks towards another seated at the dinner table - Bandou's older brother, Niouta. The question is read off and Niouta only has to think a moment before he gives the correct answer. "See, your brother had no problem answering it, and it's been two years since he's had this class."
Bandou briefly lifts his eyes from where he's been staring down at his bowl to shoot a glare at his brother. That's when another speaks up. The eldest of the three sons, Ichiro, who's been home from studying abroad. He apparently feels it necessary to elaborate on the subject of the question, pointing out various ways the answer was obvious and could have been reached with little effort. Bandou looks back down to his bowl, muttering something under his breath.
"Stop it." There's a frustrated scolding from his mother, who's seated next to him. She's taking the opportunity provided by the other three conversing to speak quietly to her youngest son. "I'm tired of our dinners being ruined because you keep disappointing your father."
Bandou's face falls at his mother's words. It's obvious he's trying to hold back some tears as his eyes begin to turn red and glassy. "I'm sorry..." But she doesn't seem interested in his apology and shakes her head with a slight huff of irritation.
The remainder of the meal is spent discussing his brother's own exemplary grades, and Bandou remains quiet, absently swirling the broth around his bowl with his spoon. It doesn't seem appealing to eat anymore now that some tears have fallen into it.

[ He hardly even registers the knock, so it's more of a response out of habit than anything else. ]

[Despite her worry -- and despite not being a parent herself -- she has been Princess to a nation for a very, very long time. All she shows on the outside is gentle, warm concern.]
Are you all right?

[ He sniffs loudly, looking away from his goddess as more tears unwillingly cascade down his face. ]
I don't think so...

I am here, Bandou. Please, tell me everything.

[ It's odd really, how these dreams are so much more vivid than normal ones are. How, when he wakes up, he just knows it was a part of his past, and not just something his mind created while he slept. ]
About my parents...and two brothers.

Private Text
[ A moment later. ]
Is everything okay?
Re: Private Text
[ Just that simple text before he's traveling over via shrine. ]
Private Text / action?
Well, my door is always open!
[ That's all he gets out before Bandou arrives, clearly not needing a word more of invitation. ]
action /o/
Hey...

San-chan...?
[ He definitely did. Tatara's brow knits, but only for a second before he's waving his friend inside. ]
Come in, come in!

He'd done it then, so it only felt right to do so now. That's why Shouhei will here a knock at his bedroom door. A slow and maybe hesitant one. ]
Shouhei?

Yawning when he opens it.]
San-chan?

Hey. Do you care if I stay here tonight?
no subject
[He's way too trusting, way too easy going. But for San-chan? He doesn't mind. He moves aside so he can come in.]
It's been a while, huh?

[ He sounds a lot more monotone than usual. Oh and he's also quietly removing some of his layers until he's down to just a red t-shirt and the pj pants that he'd just ended up coming over here in. ]
no subject
So why did you wanna come over?
[Not that he minded at all.]
