Open ♔ My pri may be pri, but it’s the pri in “prince”, pri!
Who: Hibiki and you, pri
When: July 27, pri
Where: Harajuku, pri
What: An unusual ayakashi is preying upon Japan’s cutest citizens, pri.
Warnings: Pri-ating the dead horse that is Hibiki's phobia, pri. (Live horse also included. Pri.)
[ In an area of town as style-conscious as Harajuku, various fads come and go. The latest craze, however, seems to be completely involuntary: anyone visiting these two particular blocks of the area will find themselves compelled to add a cutesy suffix or “sentence ender” to the ends of whatever they say. What’s worse, the effect doesn’t seem to wear off for quite some time after leaving, and the longer people use their sentence enders, the fonder they grow of them.
This is causing no end of additional discord to erupt as friends and loved ones slowly cannot stand being around their affected acquaintances anymore.
Particularly adept or powerful gods and shinki may notice an ayakashi-like smoke issuing from people’s mouths as they use their sentence enders. The source is somewhere in town, hiding out. Lurking. Enjoying inflicting itself upon its unsuspecting victims, and growing stronger from ingesting said smoke. Why, it's even affecting any gods and shinki who wander into its territory...
Into this mess, preoccupied by dreams of revolution, rides one Shikyoin Hibiki on a literal white horse. (Don’t ask.) If she’s going to attract PriPara to the Near Shore, she imagines it’ll be touching down where Parajuku should be, as it’s the closest PriPara location to her shrine. Best scope out the area to be sure there’s nothing of use there right now….
But what is this chill in the midsummer air, and this deep-rooted sense of terror-stricken foreboding? ]

But what is this chill in the midsummer air, and this deep-rooted sense of terror-stricken foreboding? ]

[ Thankfully Mikleo has some self control to not repeat it completely at the end of the sentence-- yet. ]
Because of sentence enders???!
no subject
[ Hibiki has to clap her hands over her ears. This makes controlling a horse awkward. It begins to fuss. ]
no subject
[ Okay Hibiki stop yelling at him for repeating it. He doesn't get why it's traumatizing. ]
...Right....Can you maybe get off that horse before you hurt yourself or it......?
no subject
OUT OF MY WAY, PRI!!
[ Don't make her gallop past you in a huff. ]
no subject
[ Now he really is just weirded out by her but clearly he wanted to help her out and figure out why she keeps saying really odd words. ]
...
[ She can try. ]
Not until you tell me what's wrong.

[ She tries to steer the horse around Mikleo, but it's too late. A group of businessmen, businessmen!, walk past, happily "pon" and "byu" and "kya"-ing away, and Hibiki's eyes roll up in her sockets. She can feel all the blood rushing to her head....
And she faints.
Off the horse. ]
no subject
...
And she fell off the horse, and look at who had to catch her from falling with panic on his face!
This water seraph here! ]
H-Hibiki?!!!!
no subject
Her head lolls to one side, and she groans. A passing child informs his mother he wants "some candy, sho!" and Hibiki shivers, then goes limp in Mikleo's hold.
Bit by bit, her breathing becomes more labored... ]
no subject
Luckily for her he was stronger than he looked. ]
Hibiki! Hey you can't pass out here!
[ He called to her with his rows knit together. Of course, there's nothing he really could do in the moment other then to get her off the ground by lifting her up. He looked around for a clinic to take her to. ]

[ There's nothing in this area. And, her skin grows clammier every time another person in their vicinity ends their sentences strangely.
Her...her head.....her heart.... ]

It seemed like whatever these 'enders' are, they affected her significantly, so he decided to carry her bridal style to a safer location that might probably have less people who would shout those enders that he was starting to catch up on. ]

Once they've gone a few blocks from the worst of it, her breathing quiets down and her expression relaxes. It seems he was on the right track. ]
no subject
Thankfully he was able to take a breath as well when she looked a lot better than she did earlier. He sets her down on the bench for a moment. ]
no subject
Once Hibiki's breathing has slowed to a regular rate, her eyelashes flutter. She looks like she's debating rejoining the universe. ]
no subject
Hibiki?
[ He tapped her gently for a moment before putting a hand to her forehead to make sure she wasn't burning up. ]
no subject
[ Hibiki wakes up with a gasp and a start. Her eyes aren't focusing on anything right now, but they'll find Mikleo's face soon enough, and start trying to take everything in.
A mirror...? ]
no subject
[ Mikleo almost falls back at her scream. What the heck is wrong with her!? He didn't do anything. ]
Hey--- calm down!
[ He grasped her shoulders firmly. ]
no subject
The sentence enders are...
[ She listens. ]
Gone...
[ The sentence enders are gone. The sentence enders are gone. The sentence enders are gone.
This reassurance echoes in her head, and her shoulders relax. She's safe.... ]
no subject
Do you dislike the sentence enders? It seemed like it caused you quite a stir.
[ He replied giving the other a small worried look. She looked fine now and less pale. He would check her vitals but he's going to give her the space she needs first. ]
no subject
[ This is a fact. A fact stated as grimly as others might predict the end of the world.
Still, somehow the worst has been avoided. She sighs. ] I'm all right now. This place appears unpolluted.
[ But how did she get here...? Surely, he couldn't have - even if he'd assisted that night in the rain, they barely know each other... ]
no subject
It-- unpolluted?
[ Seriously Hibiki? He just gives the other a blank look as she said that but he supposed it's better than having her pass out again. Whatever she was thinking-- she's right. He did carry her to this location all by his lonesome self. He may look frail but he's a lot stronger than he looks. ]
In any case, do you need water or something? You were really pale there for a moment.
no subject
[ Her palate is very sensitive. If you came back with, say, tap water, she'd probably collapse all over again.
Hibiki pushes herself fully up. Her inclination towards exploring this area has been utterly ruined... ] You may return to your day.
[ She's not going to even think about the fact that a whole corner of this town is infested with -
no, she's not going to think about it, she has to distract herself, pure amore love, an eternally-unchanging flower... ]
no subject
So you say, but I can't help but be more concerned. I'm also unsure if it's best for me to return to my day when you might collapse again.
[ Hibiki definitely was an interesting acquaintance. ]
no subject
Oh, he's talking. Hibiki sniffs. ] My temple is unsoiled. Have no fear.
no subject
Do you perhaps need me to walk you back to your temple?
