Who: D2 & You
When: July 27th
Where: Tokyo, Lakshmi’s temple, Far Shore
What: Some shopping and post-shopping planting. Plus some wandering with maps.
(( Day | Tokyo 1 ))
[ Sometimes, you need to buy some new clothes and well, sometimes they don’t need to be serious. Things have been feeling sort of serious lately too, because D2 lost his second God not long ago. Then there was yesterday, too.
So he’s scouting out various clothing stores - often the kinds that tourists like - and there are t-shirts plenty with ridiculously misplaced words on them, like “GRAY” written with hot pink letters on a very green background, or “mouse” written under the picture of a cat, or random kaomojis, or silly images or dumb puns.
He’s at a mirror, holding up one ridiculous shirt after the other in front of him to see what they look like more closely. ]
Cute, right?
[ Probably more stupid. The shirt he’s looking at. ]
(( Day | Tokyo 2 ))
[ But he’s not only looking for some funny clothes. He’s also looking around in 100 yen shops, and other cheap places, like street vendors or souvenir shops, at things that are not as wearable.
Well. The cheesy sunglasses and beaded bracelets might be, but not the colorful flower pots or the phone straps or plushies or cheap “statues” or wagashi or other random items.
On the other hand, he does pay one visit that actually has a purpose, at a garden shop, where he’s looking at things to fill those pots with. Like small trees or plants that will go all over as they grow. And/or that are colorful. Now, he can’t tell flowers apart very well but the cinnamon trees are important.
Watch it or he’ll drag you in to be taste advice again. ]
(( Evening | Lakshmi’s Temple ))
[ Eventually he’s home (though at various points he’s been going back and forth because of transportation issues), sitting beside one of the ponds with plant dirt, the plants he has purchased, and the pots. Because he’s busy replanting them all nicely and carefully, as he hums many a random song or other. His voice is more on the average end, nothing remarkable or anything, but he’s at least having fun with the songs, and that’s the point anyway.
His two cats are lazily napping beside him, Kau wela curled up just beside him in the shadow of one of his knees where he sits cross-legged in the grass, and Kupuna a little further away, where she can bask in the sun.
Later, he’s going to decorate his room with all these flowers and the small trees. ]
(( Late Evening | Far Shore ))
[ But he’s got some updating of his maps to do as well, so once he’s finished with replanting, he cleans up a little and heads out with the hard-plastic folder he keeps the maps in, and pens to remove and add any temples that may need to be removed or added.
At a point he ends up drifting to the location where Anpao’s temple used to be, and at another point, where The Morrigan’s castle used to be. But he doesn’t stay at either place for very long. ]

Lakshmi's Temple
Settling in nicely, I see.

Yeah, I think so. You have been very kind to me, it helps.

Tokyo II
[Fuchsia.
[Dahlia. Ball Dahlia. That's Waterlily Dahia next to it.
[Now that? Agapanthus.
[Honestly, Ken thinks it would be kind of nice to run into a plant he doesn't know. That had been the whole point of the trip, after all - to see exactly how far he could push this totally useless superpower. Ox-eye daisy, marguerite, gerbera: he's dead, he's good at punching people, he wakes up and goes running for half an hour because it seems like the right thing to do, and he can name just about any flower you happen to throw at him. One of these things, or so Ken thinks, is absolutely not like the others.
[D2 is a welcome distraction, if only because he's carrying far too much.]
You need any help with that tree?
no subject
That's a lot of Dahlia. To be honest, D2 probably should have found himself a shopping cart right from the start. Not that he couldn't go get one now, but he also doesn't want to leave the plants and tools alone, since the staff would forget about him and might just go back with them.
Not that he's not strong, but that doesn't mean that it gets a bit difficult to carry things at a certain point. ]
Oh! Yeah, I think I might.
no subject
[He says that like he knows it for sure...
[Well, it's common sense, surely? It's a tree. Of course it's going to be annoying as Hell to haul something like that around the place. The leaves'd get in your face and the pot's gotta be heavy and what if you got dirt on you? Seriously, place like this should offer aprons or something. Aprons make sense.]
Um... do you wanna wait here while I go get a cart? Or something? I mean, are you still looking round?

Uh...sure? Depends what kind of cute you're going for?
no subject
What kind? Cute is cute, right?
[ Grotesque cute is totally the same as fluffy cute, right? Well, no, he knows it's not, but cute is cute, still. ]
no subject
[She's never had to answer this kind of question before.]
That blue one suits you more though.

D2! What a surprise to see you here! [She glances at the contents of the shopping cart.] Ooh, those are so pretty. Are you buying them?
I'm glad to see you because we have to catch up. If you're not too busy with your flower shopping; otherwise we can talk later.

They're all really stupid.
[ But in that kind of 'so bad it's good' type of humor. ]

He grins widely and laughs at the comment. ]
But that’s what makes them cute, you know.

When she notices a blond head on the other side of the display, though, she leans around it, waving a little when she recognises him.]
Fancy meeting you here. Looking for plants this time?
no subject
Hello, I didn’t expect to see you here. Or a lot of people from Far Shore. Yeah, I am.
no subject
[There's an almost apologetically amused note to her tone, as if she isn't quite sure how it happened herself. It disappears soon enough as she goes on, though.] Are you looking for anything in particular?

Hmm, I think that color goes well with your hair.
[He nods at the one under it, which has a series of what appear to be completely random English words superimposed in different fonts and sizes across a picture of a gas pump, and adds:] And the design is quite nice on that one, too....
no subject
But that a friend seems to agree with the choice, that makes him happy. ]
You think so? Does green and pink go with yellow?
[ He sort of knows the color wheel, but he’s still got some learning to do, there. ]
Ooh, yeah, that’s pretty cool. [ He picks up the shirt and holds it up against Hakkai. ] I think it’d suit you.
no subject
Right? He looks down at the shirt Carl's suggesting for him with bemusement.]
Would it? I'm not sure it's my style....
[And he can only read about a quarter of it even when it's not upside down.]
