Who: Sora & Roxas
What: Sora goes to check out Roxas’ temple, finds out that he can’t exactly visit.
When: March 28
Where: Artemis’ temple
Warnings: None at the moment!

[After finding out this his nobody was real in this existence (and as a goddess no less) Sora was really curious about Roxas. Their first meeting had been a strange one, but Sora was actually incredibly happy that Roxas was here. For Roxas to be his own person without needing to be a part of Sora and for Sora not to be face first snoozing on the floor, was amazing.

He wanted to jump at the chance to be friends with his nobody because that wasn’t a possibility before. Maybe staying here in this place where they could live separately wasn’t going to be so bad after all.

Unannounced, Sora teleports to Roxas’ temple. He wants to see the place for himself and was curious about the property that Roxas has been given. As soon as he gets there he smiles at all the the beauty of the surrounding forest. Excited, he comes up to the door and knocks.]

[Roxas meanwhile had been exploring the rather nice abode he'd been given. It was a pretty good size for someone like him, and certainly bigger than the room he shared with five other people back in Koriko. And it wasn't co-ed! Though he already missed having someone around with him at all times already. This would take some getting used to.

He perks up when there's a knock at the door, rushing over and opening it up to see-]

Sora?

[He just got here and already Sora's visiting. Was this guy going to be everywhere?]

Hi! What's up?

[Sora waves, smiling.] I'd figure I'd stop by and see your place! Look at this giant forest, that's pretty lucky! Wanna show me around?

[Hopefully that wasn't too forward for Roxas, but Sora doesn't really know the definition of too forward sometimes.]

[Lucky. Right... For the kid who'd still wary of forests, not so much. It did have a big lack of monsters which put Roxas at ease to a degree.]

I haven't really checked it out, so we can do that together. [A safer option in his opinion.] I know there's deer feeder's. Wanna see if there's any here?

[He's not even really waiting for a reply. Just follow him, Sora.]

[Sora is at Roxas' side in an instant, hanging his arms behind his head as they walk. Sora has never seen a real deer ever in his entire life so this was going to be quite the experience for him.]

Yeah! So they just come and eat here all the time? That's so cool.

[Roxas should probably prepare himself for a million more questions as the tour continues.]

Deer are Artemis' favorite animals. I like them too. Deer being here means the forest is healthy.

[Roxas stops by one of the feeders and looks around it.] There's hoof prints. Deer like coming out in the morning and evening if I remember right. They get scared easily so you gotta be careful around them.

[No getting gored by a stag please.]

[Sora looks around and tries to keep his breathing low. There's hoof prints and that means some might be near, right? Sora's getting a bit excited now. Gently, he says,] I hope I don't scare them off...

[One time when he was little he had chased a whole herd of ducks away because he had tried to grab one of them to hug...]

You won't if you're slow and let them come to you. I did that back in Koriko and got to pet deer and foxes that way. [Foxes were rather tame there.]

Cows and sheep are harder to scare- Oh! [Roxas points over towards the pond.] There's one over there.

[Sora perks up and stares, feeling his heart pick up a little. He reaches out to tug on Roxas' sleeve as if he's telling him look it's righhttt therrreeee oh my godddd even though Roxas was the first one to see it.

Roxas was so lucky he got to have stuff like deers and pretty forests.

But he wasn't sure what he should do next except stare at the creature. He was too worried if he said something it would run off so he whispers,] What do we do??

[The excitement is cute. Roxas used to be just like that.

He thinks for a moment before nodding.] Deer liked Artemis, and she never hunted them. Maybe it'll come over to me?

[Only one way to find out. He steps away from Sora and approaches the animal. The deer doesn't shy away and starts eating the grass as if nothing was wrong. Roxas winds up right next to it and begins petting it.]

Wow... It worked...

[If you could see sparkles in someone's eyes there is sparkles in Sora's eyes. Roxas was actually petting the deer! The creature is beautiful and majestic, just as Sora had imagined. He wants to pet it too!]

Roxas that's amazing...!

[Oh right, gotta whisper. He clamps his hand over his mouth.]

[The deer looks up at Sora but doesn't run. Roxas sighs, motioning for Sora to come over.]

Don't come over too fast, okay? And don't pet his head. Stags don't like that. Oh, and be careful of the antlers! They're really, really sharp.

Uhh...hahah...

[Sora looks at Roxas, a little nervous now. He wasn't a god of the forest it would probably bite him or run away. He's curious but now that he's actually faced with the chance to touch it, he hesitates. He's looking at Roxas like he needs confirmation that he's not gonna screw this up.]

[...... Oh boy.

Roxas walks over to Sora and takes his hand.] Come on.

[He's just going to slowly lead the other boy over. The deer just watches them curiously before going back to grazing. With his free hand, Roxas starts petting it again.]

See? Not that scary. Just pet him.

Okay okay. [Sora whines lightly under his breath. It was just a little scary okay?

Sora carefully reaches out and touches the deer on the neck. The fur was soft and bristly under his fingers. His heart starts pounding in excitement.

Okay, it's not that scary! Sora gets more confident and smiles brightly, petting the deer more. This was so cool!

He coos gently at it, obviously enjoying this.] Hey there buddy...!

[Roxas lets out a soft laugh. He can't help but find this adorable. Sora was acting like a kid, like the other one when he found out he could hug the farm animals. The comparison does make him sad, but he's gotten better at hiding most of his emotions. Yes, it wasn't a good thing, but it kept a lot of the questions at bay back in Koriko.]

I think he likes it. Maybe next time you won't need me around.

[It takes a moment longer to realize that he was still holding the others hand. He lets go and puts it on the deer to pet it with both hands. Why was this so awkward? It's Sora...

His nerves are getting the better of him. Getting used to the Sora here would take a while longer. Roxas just hopes he'll be more comfortable with Sora soon since he does want the other in his life.]

[This is seriously amazing! Sora is in bliss as he brushes his fingers gently over the deer's neck again and again. If he was allowed he'd probably just stay here forever. He felt like he wanted to hug it and cuddle it against his cheek.

When Roxas pulls his hand away, Sora glances at him but smiles brightly. If Roxas was feeling awkward about that, Sora didn't notice at all.]

I bet it's you that makes him so calm and happy though. I don't think I could make him trust me this much on my own.

I like animals, so even if I wasn't Artemis, maybe it'd be like this, too. Animals can be pretty smart, you know. They can tell if someone wants to hurt them. They just don't know what to do with excitement.

[Meaning please be calm around animals.

Roxas starts looking very content as the petting continues. He decides to try resting his head on the deer's neck. It's been a while since he's done this with anything but a horse or a cow, and the deer doesn't seem too bothered by it. Success!]

He's really warm...

[Sora chuckles. Okay he gets it Roxas, he'll try to not get too excited. He couldn't make any promises about that though- he was just naturally excitable! It wasn't every day you got to cuddle deer!

Sora observes Roxas silently for a short moment, noticing how happy Roxas looks cuddling the deer. It made him happy. It made him so happy to see Roxas make that face. Roxas might have known another world with other friends and a life of his own before all this but this was the first time this Sora had seen Roxas with that sort of expression. The only memories he had of Roxas were the painful ones they shared. So this...

Was really special for him to see.]

I'm really glad you're here Roxas. [He's grinning.]

[Roxas is pulled from his reverie with that statement. He looks at Sora with curiosity, but doesn't see anything in the others face that would make him think this wasn't genuine. Sora was happy. Roxas can't keep himself from smiling brightly as he stands up straight.

.... thinking on it, this place was much kinder than Koriko. He had his own name, he didn't have to work to pay off a debt, and had a chance to make more of a difference. His only fear was forgetting everything about that last place. Forgetting that Sora. Forgetting those friends. It was hard enough to have met his third Axel, each one unique in some way, but what set this Sora apart from the other?

The smile becomes much softer as he nods. Don't be sad.]

Me too. I like it here.

[If it was anyone else Sora probably wouldn't notice the slight change in expression. But Sora did, and he picked not to ask.

They were both still new here, new to this life and Roxas was probably reeling more than Sora was. Sora was rather adaptable to change and jumping worlds and things being drastically different for him all the time. Roxas got to live in another world with another life that he had to leave behind. Sora was barely ever home on Destiny Islands since he became a keyblade wielder. So they were probably feeling different types of homesickness.]

Wanna show me the rest of your place?

[Changing direction would probably be best for now. He gets one last bit of cuddling in, rubbing his cheek against the deer's soft neck.]

[That was the nice thing he's noticed about this Sora: he doesn't pry as much as the other had. Roxas couldn't blame the other Sora for that. It was definitely different for both of them back then, but this one... this Sora seemed a lot more mature. If that was possible with this guy.

He nods once again before pulling away from the deer. It'd still be here later.]

There's a really pretty pond I saw from my window.

[Roxas leads him over to it, the silver water covered in white and pink lily pad blooms. He kneels down beside it and dips his hand in. The water is as cold as he thought it would be.]

I wonder if there's fish in here.

[Sora follows happily (before taking one last glance at the deer, he'd be back for cuddles later), taking in the smells and sights around them. The forest smells so fresh and he notices he really likes the smell of the woods and grass. It's nothing like the ocean smells at home.

Reaching the pond, Sora gets a happy grin on his face.] Whoa! It's so sparkly!

[It reminds him that he had stopped by Hajime's pool party earlier in the day before coming here and had tried to shove Data-Roxas into the pool. Completely unsuccessfully. Now he was standing near the other Roxas and could just as easily attempt to shove Roxas into this pond. The mirror image was kind of funny. He starts laughing but goes to kneel near Roxas, putting his own hand in the pond.]

By the way, I didn't see you at the pool party today, you didn't wanna go? There was volleyball and everything!

[Roxas was tempted to retort with 'Of course it is', but that would ruin the moment. He looks at Sora, a mix of annoyance and weariness on his face.]

I'm not a big fan of parties... there was way too many back in Koriko, and none of them ever ended well. So... I think I'm taking a break from them. [O-Oh!] I'll still come to yours!

[After all, it was a promise. And Roxas hated breaking promises. He's had that happen way too often in his short life that he doesn't want to do it to anyone else. Plus, keeping people from getting sick was another reason he had to go.]

[Gosh, that annoyed look could rival Riku. Sora has to physically resist the urge to reach out and press his thumbs against Roxas' blond eyebrows to smooth out the expression.

At the mention of his party though, Sora just smirks. He didn't want to fight with Roxas anymore about the topic. He would be lying if he wasn't freaking out at the time because everyone was spam texting him the silliest most obvious questions in the world and Sora had been really mad that Roxas was fussing with him at the time.]

I just want to get everyone together! You, me, Naminé, the Rikus, Axel and I guess Roxas-Replica too. It just feels like the right thing to do. We should all be sticking together! After that I won't be a pest. [Maybe.]

[Yep. Sora would be the type to want everyone together. Roxas just notices he's missing one person.]

What about Ventus?

[Has Sora even met him? It was hard to miss the guy who Roxas actually got his face from. It's one thing he's thankful for even if he was Sora's Nobody. They didn't have the same face, though there was some similarities. To outsiders they really would look like siblings...

No. Roxas tries not to be obvious about swallowing hard. He doesn't want to be siblings. It wasn't that it was unpleasant, but if Roxas wanted to make his own way in the world, it was better to just keep himself separate from Sora like that.]

I think he'd like to come to the party, too.
