[Closed] Any way the wind blows...
Who: Nanako, Homura and Fuujin
When: August 1st
Where: Fuujin's Temple
What: Nanako has an appointment with the Wind God
[ To say Nanako's a little nervous about this meeting would be an understatement. Everyone she's talked to so far has seemed a little wary about the Wind God and his temper, his dislike of the newer gods. She wasn't sure what she was going to do if he decided he didn't like her before she had a chance to make a good impression.
But she's determined to try her best all the same. So she shows up a little before noon on the appointed day, hand clutching Homura's beside her as she stares up at Fuujin's temple with an uncertain expression. She flicks a sideways glance over at her shinki, chewing on her lower lip with a sudden case of shy nerves. ]
I think this is it.

I'm right here.
[Is that enough?]
no subject
Nanako takes a deep breath, still clutching the other girl's hand as she glances up at her again, mustering a smile that looks at least a little more genuine. ]
I know. I'm glad. Are you ready?
no subject
Ready whenever you are.
no subject
Yeah! Let's go.
[ And with that, she steps forward, moving to the entrance to seek out the wind god. ]
no subject
If it's his temple then it shouldn't be too hard to find him, right?]
no subject
It's when they enter the main room just passed the entrance of the temple that Fuujin is standing there running a hand through his short pale hair. Usually he'd have one of his shinki guide them in but considering Nanako is in Suijin's good graces and sooooo great, he figured she can find it herself.
He glances over to the pair---the very small pair of girls. Don't mind the staring, he just expected someone over four foot tall.]
. . . . .
[Suijin he's not a babysitter]
no subject
The look of surprise is quickly hidden behind a shy smile, hoping her nervousness doesn't show too obviously. Nanako dips into a polite bow to greet him. ]
Ahh, hello? Are you Fuujin?
no subject
no subject
[He gives a dismissive wave but points for the bows ladies. It's a better start then most of the ones that have come before you. Kudos.]
And you're the child-god that Suijin is doting on? Honestly, I didn't expect her to be weak to children.
[Fuujin pauses and squints at Nanako. Is it cause she reminds Suijin of Amaterasu? Surely there's more to this meeting then that?]
I got word of you coming but give me names to place with the faces. I didn't expect two visitors.
[His eyes shift to Homura briefly. Not surprised, just a little unexpected. But it was common for gods to tow along a shinki or two. Unless you were a certain blond messy haired idiot of a hunting god.
Not naming names]no subject
Oh! I'm Nanako. Ah. Also Nanshe, that's the god I'm supposed to be here, but I'm okay with just being called Nanako. This is Homura! She's my shinki.
[ 'Doting' might be stretching things a little, Fuujin. But she's flattered all the same. ]
no subject
He's not even here anymore.]I'm Homura Akemi. Call me by either name.
[Nanako gave her first name, but maybe he wants the full thing? It doesn't bother her either way.]
no subject
Here or not, there is still some bitterness]Sounds like you prefer Nanako to Nanshe...Most of you godlings are like that. I'm not surprise you are too.
[Fuujin rolls his eyes, shaking his head a bit. He can't understand why its so hard to adjust to a different life. One probably better then what they had in their own worlds.]
Suijin and Kaede gave me some idea why you're here but I don't really care for secondhand information. I'd rather hear it from you.
[He smiles, but its far from kind. More condescending then anything. He doesn't even have to hold his head up when he's already forced to look down on the two girls. His focus is more on Nanako because of her title.]
So, Nanako, why have you come to my temple? I really hope it wasn't just to say hello and waste my time. I don't enjoy having my time wasted.
no subject
[ She confesses this with a sheepish smile, ducking her head for a moment. It's not so much a matter of adjustment as it is who she's always been.
At his question, she glances up and searches his face, head cocked slightly to the side as she considers him and his tone. ]
When I talked to Suijin, she was looking for ways to help the old gods and the new gods get along better, since we're supposed to be working together. She said you didn't like the new gods very much, so she thought I could help. I don't want to waste your time, but maybe I can help you, too.
no subject
Though all things considered, Homura doesn't feel that out of place as a shinki in the Heavens.
She watches Fuujin, waiting for an answer.]
What do you want from the new arrivals?
[Unless all he wants is to be annoyed at them. Nothing to be done for that.]
no subject
I don't think its something either of you can help with. I don't want anything to do with the new arrivals. The shinki are alright but the gods are insufferable. This is the world you're all in now. We don't know why or how but it's how it is. I don't see why that's so hard to accept.
no subject
I don't know what you mean. Who isn't accepting what? Why are we insufft... insufferable?
no subject
Which is why her gaze is completely leveled at Fuujin before taking a small step closer to Nanako. He's not hostile yet, but he's clearly annoyed at all gods and has decided to put them all in the same category.
...
She kind of gets it.]
no subject
Meaning this is your lives now. I don't know of the world you're from but You're a god now. Accept it and move forward. The gods that focus too much on their pasts cause more problems then they're worth and do more damage then good.
[His eyes flick to Homura briefly.]
no subject
I like being here. I like being a god and being able to help people. I love the friends I've made and they're really important to me. [ She reaches out, catching Homura's hand again and giving it a squeeze. ] But that doesn't mean I don't still miss my dad, and worry about how he's doing if I'm not there to look after him, or that he's all alone and sad. I know I have important work to do here and I'm trying my best, but that doesn't mean where I came from isn't important too. I think the other gods feel that way, too.
no subject
Her voice is level, and her words are measured. But she means them.]
It's foolish to think that their past lives don't matter when they haven't had them erased from their memories. What was important to them is still important to them, no matter what world they may be in.
Don't presume for a moment that Nanako has ever been damaging to me.
[Should she be hostile to a god of fortune like this?
Probably not.
Is she anyway?
Yes.
Authority never meant that much to her.]
no subject
I don't to put myself in your shoes because I'm not in then. Miss your world just don't let it infect your job or others around you. Here's a question for you, Nanako.
[He points to the right. to where a random door is. There's nothing special about it, it just goes to another room in the shrine but it makes a good visual point]
Let's pretend for a second. What if I told you that if you walk through that door you would be back home? You could be back with your dad and everyone else but you couldn't come back here and you couldn't take your shinki or anyone else with you....what would you do?
no subject
And then she shakes her head, fixing Fuujin with a determined look. Homura might notice her hand being squeezed just a little bit tighter, as if that's helping give her the strength to find the right answer here. ]
I wouldn't go. I'm not done here. I miss my dad, but I'm here for a reason and I wanna help. Besides, my daddy will understand. He knows how important a job is when someone needs your help. He has a job like that, too.
no subject
But she does look briefly uncomfortable at the question. She wouldn't blame Nanako if she wanted to leave. A normal life... that's what somebody like Nanako should be able to have. But that doesn't mean Homura wouldn't tear reality apart to get back to her.
Things she'll keep to herself.
She certainly relaxes a bit when she's reassured that Nanako will stay.]
no subject
Fuujin can't help but chuckle a bit.]
Alright, Alright. Don't get upset. I just wanted to know. There aren't many godlings I can see choosing to stay here over the chance to go back to their homes. You're different.
[Just stop looking at him like that. He reaches out slowly and gives her a firm pat on the head.]
I can see why Suijin would be fond of you...
[Still that doesn't excuse her for sending a child god to his door step. Not that it matters, Suijin does what she wants.]
no subject
Does this mean she'd succeeded in what Suijin had sent her here for? ]
Fond of me? Is she? [ This is news to her. The other god had been very difficult for her to read. ]
no subject
But honestly, who wouldn't be fond of Nanako. She's Nanako.]
no subject
That's not for to go into detail about but Suijin isn't always as scary as she looks.
[Don't tell her he said that either. Oh boy. Still, this little godling seems to mean well even if her shinki seems a little more standoffish. That's not too uncommon with shinki with younger looking gods. So he doesn't mind Homura too much.]
But I am curious to how you'll grow as a god, Nanako. You're still new and young. I want to see if you keep the same view or the others change it for you. Time will tell and time is nothing to a god like myself.
no subject
And don't worry, I'm gonna practice lots and lots to become a really good god! [ She glances over at Homura then, giving the other girl a warm smile full of affection as she squeezes her hand lightly. ] Homura helps me a lot.
no subject
Just let me know whenever you need my help.
[But now that Nanako's starting to warm up to Fuu, Homura will slowly be willing to as well.]
