Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods (although there's none this time) and shinki



The product of many meetings and recommendations, at last it has taken shape. On this day, in anticipation of the new arrivals who appear in a recognized pattern, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.

The shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. And in that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo.
Here the newly arrived gods are gathered, so finding their partner is more simple. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the aspects of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki, or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.




God Training

Bishamon herself, as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods, will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves get oriented with when they arrive.

Shinki Training

Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Bishamon's lead shinki Kazuma offers a lecture to new arrivals that will thoroughly cover some essential points about teamwork with both shinki and other gods.

Physical Training

The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) Essential for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
Also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.

Rest and Refreshments

There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

Y-Yeah, it was. Just practicing my other non-shinki powers for a bit.

[She couldn't help scratch her cheek a bit before returning to the garden.]

It felt like the flowers needed some more watering. This season's summer has been kinda brutal, even in these parts. You'd think the heavens would have a better handle of this than in the living world.

[Oh, she was a shinki then? She was supposed to have someone like this to work with? But if she was a shinki, that means... Alex looked at her a little sadly.]

You mean..you had this power before you got here then?

[drizzle]

[The question will leave Nike silent for a moment, having a difficult time finding a proper response, until she admits.]

That's what I've heard...

[Her surroundings are always whispering or hinting at secret abilities to her, but she always thought it was normal for all shinkis to know them until someone admitted to her to not be the case in the slightest. Nike can't remember anything before arriving, and yet she felt uncomfortable at the thought in wanting to investigate it.]

I don't really know otherwise. I can only trust on other's hints about it. They've been good help in keeping me safe for the most part.

[sing_for_me]

That's..a beautiful ability. I've never seen something like that before.

[She had only ever seen an ability that was strength related. This was something gentle. Alex touched one of the flowers covered in droplets of water, smiling a little.]

[drizzle]

[Her reaction was unexpected, considering she found it to be an odd ability, and yet one she isn't too bothered by neither. She just...doesn't like to be different from all the other shinki. Standing out just doesn't seem like something she wants to do, but the other woman's compliments will get her to beam happily.]

Thank you! I'm glad to hear it. Do you like the rain, miss?

[That wasn't something she's been asked before.]

..Not really.

[She answered honestly. Things always felt worse when it rained, and she didn't have fond memories of it.]

But..the rain in the city was never this pretty.

[Alex smiled back at her.]

I guess you changed my opinion on it.

[drizzle]

[In the city? Nike couldn't help notice that detail about her, wondering if she was talking about the one at the Near Shore or the one in her own world. If it was the latter, then she may be...]

Does the city have a name? The one where the rain didn't look as pretty.

[But she'll smile happily at the idea of having changed someone's mind about it.]

Man, you really do know how to raise someone's pride a bit. I'm really happy to have helped in changing your mind about it. [After all...] I don't really know if I like the rain or not. [For example.] I know it's important for it to exist, you know. No world can survive without it. But...it makes me feel a little uneasy too. So, you're not really alone over not having much of a favorable opinion over it...

[sing_for_me]

Ergastulum. It's just a lot of buildings packed together..so seeing the rain in this kind of place just looks a lot better.

[Her smile is a little infectious, and Alex feels her own spirits being lifted.]

If you don't mind me asking, do you have a god?

[drizzle]

Er-gas-tu-lum...? [Repeated very carefully.] It sounds like somewhere with a lot of buildings. Do you think it's bigger or smaller than Sh-in-ju-ku?

I don't mind. His name is Ted, but he represents the goddess Isis. He's a good, honest person. You should befriend him whenever you get the chance. Just don't expect much out of him in way of help... [All said in a low whisper before she starts to chuckle a bit.] What about you? Do you have a name? I'm Nike!

[sing_for_me]

Shin..juku? I'm not sure.

[Alex had never heard that name before.]

Oh, so the representatives for the gods aren't affected by gender then?

[Well, that kind of thing probably didn't matter here.]

Maybe one day I'll meet him.

[She raises an eyebrow at the whispering, but just chuckles.]

I'm Alex. It's nice to meet you, Nike.

[drizzle]

It's the name of the city you'll encounter out of this area. Does Japan ring any bells? That's the name of the country we're in.

[Shaking her head at her next question.]

Precisely. I don't know why. I guess the Heavens doesn't really care about that stuff.

[Gender may be a human thing, she figures is the reason behind it, but since she wasn't absolutely certain, then she won't mention it. Nike will definitely hide her smile in having made that remark over her god, but it was the best way to warn her beforehand than having her find out the hard way. Either way, she was just happy at the chance in making a new friend.]

It's nice to meet you too, Alex-sama. [She figures it may be a good idea to be polite since she was speaking to a goddess.] Did you just arrive here today?

Japan--!

[She definitely heard of it, but she didn't imagine she would be sent there. So that's why the building looked so strange to her.]

Oh, Alex is just fine..!

[The -sama sounded...strange to her. ]

Yes, I did just arrive. What about you?

[drizzle]

[It seems like she heard of it, after all, if her reaction was anything to go by.]

Mmm, Japan. We're there.

[There may be a mental sight of relieve at the thought of referring to her in a more casual way.]

Oh, I've been here for...more than a week now. [If she looks back, she can't help realize it may have been more than eight or so days ago when she arrived to this realm as a shinki.] Welcome to your new home away from home though!
