Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods (although there's none this time) and shinki



The product of many meetings and recommendations, at last it has taken shape. On this day, in anticipation of the new arrivals who appear in a recognized pattern, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.

The shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. And in that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo.
Here the newly arrived gods are gathered, so finding their partner is more simple. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the aspects of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki, or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.




God Training

Bishamon herself, as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods, will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves get oriented with when they arrive.

Shinki Training

Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Bishamon's lead shinki Kazuma offers a lecture to new arrivals that will thoroughly cover some essential points about teamwork with both shinki and other gods.

Physical Training

The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) Essential for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
Also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.

Rest and Refreshments

There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

Well...there's a lot things different from here to there. Reapers there go to the human world to look for souls ready to go to the after life. There it's determined if it can reincarnate or not.

[ Tapping a finger to cheek, her brows raise. ]

Interesting. Sounds far less-- systematic?

...I suppose you could call it that. [The Netherworld and Hell aren't quite the same, but some humans call it that.]

It's where us demons live.

[ Grell blinks. Tilts her head. ]

D-demon-?! [ She outright scoffs the word between laughter. Hand to her chest, she has to ease a steadying sigh, before she can continue. ] Demons eat souls, not judge them.

[ Tapping a finger under her eye, she'll make certain that none of her mascara budged there. ]

Ah, alright, silly boy! So what it, really~?

[This again?] I don't eat souls!

[They don't really do anything with them, besides 'punish' the bad ones through hard labor.] ...Though we don't really do the actual judgement either. That's a whole other process, we just make sure that they get there. And there's only certain demons that can do that anyway.

Oh. You are being serious.

[ Huh. Shifting her weight over to one leg, she grants the boy her full attention once more. Well, somewhat. Part of her has realized that this could be what her illegitimate lovechild with Sebaby would be like. It may be amusing her far too much. ]

You're only to find and escort these souls, then? How positively boring... My sympathies!

Hmm... basically, yeah. [His hood flame flutters by the second comment though.] H-how is that boring?!

[ Eyeing that flame, her brows raise! Unusual little thing, that she'll idly wonder might represent his soul. Seemed to be the belief of some cultures, in her world. ]

It isn't particularly my style to play chauffeur! I'd thought my duties to be a bit drab, most times, but at the very least, would come across the soul of a naughty fellow, now and then!

[She might be surprised at how right she is. With maybe a slight dab of angler lure. Reaper training wheels so to speak for easier hunting.]

You mean-- you punish the bad souls right then and there?

In a manner of speaking!

[ From behind her, seemingly out of thin air, she pulls a shiny red chainsaw! ]

You see, with our deathscythe, we're able to retrieve a being's cinematic record~; a collection of their past memories! [ With a slash at the air to demonstrate, she glances over at the boy with a grin. ] So, it is my duty to determine whether their lives deserve a sequel - if not, a simple snip will draw the curtain!

[Nervous flickering is going to remain a common trend, it already seems.]

[He can see through the film metaphors to figure out exactly what Grell means.] --You destroy their souls so they can't reincarnate again? Doesn't that mess up your cycle big time?!

[...Never mind this was the same kid given the orders to mass exterminate Prinnies not too long ago. It's pretty much the same exact thing.]

[ Grell stand upright, allowing the chainsaw's blade to rest back against her shoulder. ]

It allows the soul to pass on, unharmed. Whatever happens to them from there is up to higher management.

...Oh. Good. You had me worried.

[That really should not be the appropriate response to someone wielding a chainsaw in front of him.]

[ Tilting her head, a musing hum escapes her. ]

If you'd like to speak about disturbing the cycle, however, that bloke had been reanimating our dead. Caused quite the uproar amongst Collections!

You mean...like zombies?

Something like that. I do believe that's the more popular term I've heard, since arriving here.

[That also makes things a little complicated considering zombies where another type of demon, as well as undead in general. Their existence is a bit of a mystery, since some say they are souls so pathetic to even become Prinnies, other stories not so much. Either way, they don't seem...to unbalance things too much?]

...Where did they get the souls from? Those things shouldn't be obtainable after they been sent off.

Well--. [ Raising a finger from the handle of her saw, in point, her gaze venture wayward in recollection. ] The souls themselves weren't present! After accessing their cinematic records - essentially, containing all of their life experiences - he was able to splice in additional content, to act as false memories, and fool them into believing that they had never passed!

[Attempting to make sense out of that. These whole record things are brand new to him.]

If it's just memories, then...I dunno how it could really mess with the cycle.

Still sounds like a hassle to deal with though.

Perhaps not the cycle, so much as general order.

[ Closing her eyes, Grell gives an exasperated shake of the head. ]

Of course, we had been responsible for investigating the revival of the copses - as well as the mass casualties resulting from their hunger.
