July Training

Who: Everyone
What: Information and Training
When: August 5
Where: Bishamon's temple, the Far Shore
Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods (although there's none this time) and shinki

The product of many meetings and recommendations, at last it has taken shape. On this day, in anticipation of the new arrivals who appear in a recognized pattern, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.

The shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. And in that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo.
Here the newly arrived gods are gathered, so finding their partner is more simple. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the aspects of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki, or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.

God Training

Bishamon herself, as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods, will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves get oriented with when they arrive.

Shinki Training

Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Bishamon's lead shinki Kazuma offers a lecture to new arrivals that will thoroughly cover some essential points about teamwork with both shinki and other gods.

Physical Training

The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) Essential for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
Also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.

Rest and Refreshments

There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

In Summary:
  • Get all the information you can handle
  • Veteran new gods and shinki are welcome to volunteer showing the ropes
  • Get in some training
  • Don't get dehydrated
  • Spectate if you want
  • Have fun~

[Eeeep. Celestia takes a quick step back, though it's more out of reflex than any desire (or ability) to pretend she hadn't been eating the flower.]

I'm not much for badgering, outside of good cause.
kokuyoyo: (And the cops are back.)

[personal profile] kokuyoyo 2017-07-22 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
....Eating isn't a good cause?
letteropener: (raised hoof)

[personal profile] letteropener 2017-07-22 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Special treatment is. There are a number of things I can eat here just fine.
kokuyoyo: (And the cops are back.)

[personal profile] kokuyoyo 2017-07-24 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
....But you ate a plant.

[???]
letteropener: (oh jeez)

[personal profile] letteropener 2017-07-24 03:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, it looked very tasty. It was very tasty. [Celestia is a little sheepish, but she has to tell the truth.]
kokuyoyo: (And the cops are back.)

[personal profile] kokuyoyo 2017-07-25 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
[Another squint and some awkward silence.]

Then just ask them for more plants.

[He's having a lot of trouble seeing the problem here.]
letteropener: (that is how it is)

[personal profile] letteropener 2017-07-27 03:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I am going to guess, just as a hunch, that they see their flowering bushes as food about as much as I see meat as food.
kokuyoyo: (Please don't place wagers on my)

[personal profile] kokuyoyo 2017-07-27 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
....Depends on the plant. Some people will eat anything... so long as it doesn't kill them.

...Humans are omnivores, after all.
letteropener: (that is how it is)

[personal profile] letteropener 2017-07-28 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
That's true, but I've noticed that just because you can eat, for example, hay -- doesn't mean you do!
kokuyoyo: (Tell him next time I'm going to be)

[personal profile] kokuyoyo 2017-07-29 09:07 pm (UTC)(link)
...What other kinds of plants do you eat then?
letteropener: (contented smile)

[personal profile] letteropener 2017-07-31 02:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Grains are common, in all forms -- of course, we ponies do love to bake as a rule.
kokuyoyo: (And the cops are back.)

[personal profile] kokuyoyo 2017-08-01 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
So.... pastries would be fine, then.

[.....How do ponies bake-]
letteropener: (delight)

[personal profile] letteropener 2017-08-01 03:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, absolutely, or a cake or donuts... [Her eyes are practically shining at the thought.]

[How do ponies bake? Very well, actually!]
kokuyoyo: (Please don't place wagers on my)

[personal profile] kokuyoyo 2017-08-04 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Then ask for those. Even humans could eat those, so.... It's not like it would be just for you...
letteropener: (satisfied look into the distance)

[personal profile] letteropener 2017-08-05 08:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I was just using that as an example. Because the truth is, well, I had a craving. [Celestia turns slightly away, sheepishly and entirely willing to poke fun at herself.]
kokuyoyo: (And the cops are back.)

[personal profile] kokuyoyo 2017-08-06 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
[Chikusa's quiet for a second before just.... shrugging.]

Then eat up the whole garden...
letteropener: (delight)

[personal profile] letteropener 2017-08-08 03:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I -- don't think I'll go quite that far. [Celestia laughs into a hoof softly, unable to hide her mirth.]
kokuyoyo: (Please don't place wagers on my)

[personal profile] kokuyoyo 2017-08-10 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
Well... It's a suggestion.

But I don't think it's as big a deal as you think....

[But this is Chikusa speaking.]
letteropener: (fond smile)

[personal profile] letteropener 2017-08-10 02:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe not, but I think this garden was cultivated with obvious care, and I would hate to ruin it. We have our own back in Canterlot, so I can see firsthand just how much time and effort it takes.
kokuyoyo: (Tell him next time I'm going to be)

[personal profile] kokuyoyo 2017-08-11 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Are gardens that important...?

[Axel's temple is just surrounded by a bunch of grass liberally kept in check by a goat. He knows nothing about this kind of thing.]
letteropener: (that is how it is)

[personal profile] letteropener 2017-08-14 07:58 pm (UTC)(link)
They can be, and the work that goes into maintaining them shouldn't be spoiled by a Princess on a flower bender, I'm certain.
kokuyoyo: (And the cops are back.)

[personal profile] kokuyoyo 2017-08-15 09:29 pm (UTC)(link)
...I wonder if there's someone that can grow plants...

[An idle interest- after all, as a shinki his god uses, he can create chemicals. Plants are a lot simpler.]
letteropener: (huh)

[personal profile] letteropener 2017-08-16 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
You mean, as their divine power? That is a very interesting question. [Certainly one she hadn't considered up to now, to judge by her expression.]
kokuyoyo: (Please don't place wagers on my)

[personal profile] kokuyoyo 2017-08-19 07:04 pm (UTC)(link)
[A nod.]

It might be something to look into.... And then you could eat whatever so it wouldn't matter one way or the other... Right?
letteropener: (excited)

[personal profile] letteropener 2017-08-20 04:37 pm (UTC)(link)
It can't hurt to ask, certainly. I assume there's nopony you know off the top of your head?
