Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods (although there's none this time) and shinki



The product of many meetings and recommendations, at last it has taken shape. On this day, in anticipation of the new arrivals who appear in a recognized pattern, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.

The shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. And in that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo.
Here the newly arrived gods are gathered, so finding their partner is more simple. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the aspects of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki, or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.




God Training

Bishamon herself, as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods, will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves get oriented with when they arrive.

Shinki Training

Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Bishamon's lead shinki Kazuma offers a lecture to new arrivals that will thoroughly cover some essential points about teamwork with both shinki and other gods.

Physical Training

The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) Essential for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
Also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.

Rest and Refreshments

There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

I don't think anyone's doing it on purpose. I suspect we're just ... filling the empty places left by the gods' disappearance, and if a soul happens to fit, well.

Still, it's good to meet you. You're right, I suppose. Some people use 'demon' as just another word for youkai.

[Filling in spots. That's all he knew about the gods, and Emizel can't imagine it's easy finding beings suitable for the tasks. He considers himself very lucky even if it was so sudden. But the shinki themselves, aren't they just normal souls anyway?]

Is there a reason why they are disappearing anyway?

I'm sure there's a reason. Unfortunately, none of us know what it is yet.

[He smiles brightly.]

Although perhaps we'll find out.

This is still sort of a new occurrence anyway. Or has it been happening for awhile?

[More than just a few months.]

It is. It's been going on for about half a year, beginning in mid-February.

[Almost exactly six months now, in fact; he shakes his head after a moment.]

I'm just hoping that if I find a way to get back home, I won't have missed more than half a year there. If I have, I'll certainly have lost my job. Ha ha.

[... and if he's lucky, Gojyo and Goku being here and Sanzo having been at one time means that they'll all go free together. If he's not, and they're finding themselves in the mountains alone one by one, they're probably all going to be dead.]

We'll just have to hope that whatever brought us here involves time travel! Unfortunately, there's no way to go home on our own yet.

[He chuckles pleasantly, because getting angry about it won't help.]

...I figure a month or two can't do that much harm. I'll admit, I think I might miss being god though if I went back.

It sounds like you won't have a very different job when you return.

[God of death; demon of death... well, they might get a slightly different reception, he supposes.]

I won't miss it at all, myself.

Not really. ...But there's plenty things about being a god that I won't have anymore.

[And that's sad part about it. And that not including yanno, telling others that you were a freakin god.]

I suppose. What sorts of things would you miss?

[He blinks, all innocent curiosity. There are differences, obviously. The differences Emizel picks might be revealing -- of his situation at home, or, if nothing else, of his priorities....]

I won't have my own followers anymore! [Or are they really Thanatos' followers? He's not so sure.] And my very own domain. And all the other responsibilities and respect that comes with it. It's not every day that a demon becomes an official god!

[For an excitable child, it's a lot.]

No, I suppose you wouldn't. Do you like having all of those responsibilities?

[Perhaps he'll be good at this divinity thing. He certainly seems excited about it.]

Doesn't everybody? You can't get people to notice you unless you have responsibilities...

Being noticed is sometimes overrated.

[Although not for most children Emizel's age, Hakkai admits. Being noticed is much more important then.]

I like staying busy, but there's always something you can find to keep busy with, even if no one's relying on you.
