Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods (although there's none this time) and shinki



The product of many meetings and recommendations, at last it has taken shape. On this day, in anticipation of the new arrivals who appear in a recognized pattern, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.

The shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. And in that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo.
Here the newly arrived gods are gathered, so finding their partner is more simple. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the aspects of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki, or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.




God Training

Bishamon herself, as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods, will be the foremost source of information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves get oriented with when they arrive.

Shinki Training

Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline and some of the basics of what is expected of a shinki. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Bishamon's lead shinki Kazuma offers a lecture to new arrivals that will thoroughly cover some essential points about teamwork with both shinki and other gods.

Physical Training

The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) Essential for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
Also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.

Rest and Refreshments

There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

[Since he has had to deal with borderlines exploding on him, Chikusa at least takes a couple of steps back. With a breath, he raises his hand and sends out a line...]

[ Let's just say that Chikusa might've wanted to step a few more steps back. But hey, at least he was prepared for it.

As Botan should've done, as it's done well enough to knock her to the ground. The borderline's gone (because Chikusa is far more experienced, and hell, he's got the skill for ablutions, so this was well within his capabilities) and while that was always a possibility, she didn't account for the reaction. ]

Well. You've broken it.

[kokuyoyo]

[WELL. THAT SURE IS AN EXPLOSION.]

[While he was prepared for something, it's still enough to make him stumble backwards, working to keep himself upright where he nearly falls on his ass. He blinks his vision back into focus.]

...It didn't look like it would do that.

[Reaching up, he adjusts his hat.]

[ While that's his response, Botan was already trying to figure out the why. Still, as the problem seems to often be, it's all a theory. That was the best she could work with, all things considered. ]

It's probably because energy hit it instead of an actual body or anything. Though I couldn't say for certain that similar wouldn't happen if that were the case.

[ Save for the part where her borderline would've been up still. ]

[He slowly turns his head to look at her.]

....I'm not running into your borderline.

I didn't ask you to. You're the one that wanted to play around with it.

[ All she did was provide theory. She also clearly feels no guilt or sympathy for the fact that this energy backlash happened. After all, why would she? ]

Just wanted to make sure...

[People get weird ideas around here, after all.]

And it wasn't playing, anyway.

You wanted to break it, out of curiosity and not out of necessity or anything like that. I'm pretty sure that counts as playing.

[ Is it because someone around your age is suggesting this? Because it's not her acting like he's a little kid. Play is play. That's all. ]

....It's good to know what other people can do.

[ She couldn't tell if he was trying to defend himself or argue against how that could still be considered play. ]

If that's the case, then what's your conclusion? I think I have a talent for it, given that I only showed up in the last wave of arrivals.

[Listen, shut up]

...If you were able to come to that kind of conclusion on your own and implement it... Then it's not bad, I guess.

[ That's impossible. You'd have to make her. Ah, but with that 'I guess' part, after seeing how some of the other shinki (who were around and practicing the last time this gathering happened,) were doing, she has quite a pleased smile.

My name's Botan, by the way. How long've you been a shinki?

[ Y'know, for comparison to see how well she could catch up and keep him from breaking her borderlines again. ]

....Late May. So... A few months.

[Long enough to develop a new poison and learn a couple of spells. Which reminds him... He looks over her carefully, trying to see if her shinki name is visible. When it isn't, he moves on.]

I'm Kakimoto Chikusa... Exemplar to Hestia.

[ She's more than observational to notice you're looking her over, Chikusa. You're lucky that she's doing her best to keep to a promise of not reading minds. Even if it could get her in trouble, the curious question of 'why' is very tempting. Well, she can make a few guesses, given the timing and subject, but that's all they'd be.

Ah, but just a few months. If she's already ahead of the game, then it shouldn't be too hard to catch up. What? She's not competitive- She just wants to be the best she can be, which means having borderlines that aren't so easily cut down. ]

Hestia... I don't think I've met them before. Though that isn't exactly surprising, given that I'm still relatively new.

[ Not to mention, Axel won't be around for much longer after that. ]

I'm not sure what importance or weight goes into being an exemplar, as you're the first person to introduce themselves as such. However, I'm Kali's only shinki right now.

[ Hopefully no one else would have to be bound to her. Not just for it being Grell, but all the corpses along the outer perimeter of the temple grounds... ]

It's a more important title when a god has more than one shinki.... Although I guess you could say that any who's been there the longest are the exemplar, whether their god has more or none.

[But it has more importance then, so Chikusa will cling to it for as long as he can. Which isn't going to be long now.]

[ ... Oh, the pity Botan would have if anyone else became Grell's shinki. ]

Ah, I see. It sounds like it could come with quite a bit of responsibility, depending on the kind of god you have.

The more shinki that are involved... The more important it becomes as a responsibility, no matter the god.

[If only because seniority rules. So, yeah, be thankful, Botan.]

[ Actually, that would depend more on the relationship and how things are set up among the shinki, wouldn't it? ]

[What do you mean not everyone does things the same way, that's silly, not that Chikusa is stubborn about this or anything.]

I mean, if you happen to also be the most capable in shinki skills and guiding them.

[ Some newer shinki might end up being way better at the entire thing. If that's the case, then shouldn't they be the one guiding the rest? ]

It hasn't been hard for me..... and Ken is really annoying, so...
