Who: Urashima and Nari, Urashima and Chinatsu

Where: Neptune's Temple and around the Far Shore
What: Urashima finds himself assigned to another god and checks up on his kohai

( When Urashima wakes up, he smells salt on the air and hears waves splashing on the shore. It's different from what he's become used to waking up to-- fresh water, bubbling ponds, the wind blowing through the garden. He sits up quickly in the sand, and finds himself staring out into the sea. Clouds form on the horizon and he can feel in the air that it won't be long before it starts to rain. This isn't Eris' temple and he understands exactly what's happened. So this is where the Heavens want him to be? He looks down the shore both ways and then turns to look back. He can see trees and homes. That must be the temple, he thinks.

He'll go to investigate later. Just give him a minute. He sits on the sand, knees pulled close to his chest, chin resting on his folded arms, looking out at the sea. Kamekichi sits next to him and he pets her shell. )

Mmm, I wonder where Chinatsu-chan is...

( He'll meet his new god first and then look for her. She's a strong person, he thinks.
She'll be fine for a little while. )

( After getting in touch with her, Urashima sets out to meet Chinatsu. She's been here for a little while but it isn't as long as him. This is her first time losing a god and he remembers how that feels. When he finally meets Chinatsu again, he arms himself with a smile and calls out to her as brightly as ever, )

( He's down to fight. He's ready to fight. It almost sounds like he's ready to play some sort of game. )

......... This vessel thing is easier than I thought it'd be. Alright, Urashima, let's go meet Argo.

( In the same light and flurry of cherry blossoms, he goes from sword to boy. He lands on his feet with a skip in his step as he scoops up Kamekichi and trots over to Nari's side. Look, he's settling into his role easily here. )

Fam...? ( He can figure that it means family but he looks around as he places Kamekichi on his shoulder. Is anyone else here besides the cats? Argo? So they'll go meet them next? Speaking of family, though... ) There's someone I want you to meet too....!

[Are cherry blossoms Urashima's theme or something? Could be worse.]

Family. The cats and Argo are part of it. [It's a bit of a walk that leads them across an open field with a fence. They end up at a small stable. Nari unlatches the top of the door and lets it swing open. There's shuffling around in there. Wanna take a peek in, Urashima?]

( They sure are a theme with him and his fellow sword spirits. But it's hard to figure that out when you're the only sword spirit left in the far shore for awhile now.

He can recognize that they're in a stable right now and he wonders if Nari has any horses he wants to show off. Is that what he meant? )

Yeah. Chinatsu-chan. ( He peeks into the stable a bit, ) She was Oona's shinki too but I haven't seen her since I got here...

( Now let's look inside properly--! )

Never heard of either... though I guess if she needs a place to crash, I've got the room. Just don't let Mark out of where I left him.

[Meaning he doesn't remember which closet he's stuck that shinki in. Sorry, Urashima.

Speaking of, the sword boy will suddenly have a horse appear out of nowhere. And it's not a small horse. Nope, this is a tan colored Clydesdale.]

Urashima, meet Argo. Named after the boat that carried Jason and the Argonauts across the sea to fetch the Golden Fleece.

I'll look for her--

( How can something that big come out of no where? Urashima gasps and jumps back but it's moer fro surprise than fear. How can be afraid? Look at this thing! )

He's so big!? ( He's coming over to get a closer look now. To compare his height to Argo. ) Why's he so big? I've never seen one like this before...!

( Can he pet it? He's gonna try. )

Is he still a horse? Or is he a god like you too too? Can you ride him? Ah... is he legendary? ( Jason and the Argo and the Golden Fleece? What's that? He doesn't get it but it sounds impressive. ) Is he famous?!

[Argo huffs softly, Nari coming over and patting him on the neck.]

He's a Clydesdale. A draft horse, though originally this big guy's ancestors were war horses. [Famous? That gets a laugh out of the god.] Naw. Not unless you count the time he decided that he wanted to eat the owner's of the last stable he lived at wig. That made him infamous. This guy will eat anything that looks like straw or smells like apples.

[With a soft noise of approval, Argo nods a few times, then proceeds to snuffle Urashima.]

Seeing as he hasn't bitten you, Argo might just like ya.

( If he'd had his memories, he'd be able to imagine Argo as a war horse. A horse this big would be the perfect size for Tonbokiri or Taroutachi or Iwatooshi... even his brother, Nagasone. But without a glimmer of any sort of recognition, he just laughs when Argo nudges him, reaching to pet his mane. He also turns his head a bit to nudge Kamekichi's shell, )

Hello, Argo. I'm Urashima and this is Himechan. It's nice to meet you.

( Still petting Argo, he looks back at Nari, )

Do you think he'd be okay with a friend?

[Kamekichi is going to get snuffled as well because what is fear to a horse this size. Please don't bite.

Looking between Urashima, Argo, and Kamekichi, Nari shrugs.]

You can try. You know he likes you if his way of saying good morning happens. And the reason I keep my hair short.

[Urashima, he's trying to say that if Argo likes you, he's going to grab you literally by the hair for attention.]

( He squints. The reason.... he keeps his hair short? Urashima reaches to touch his hair, processing what that means. Wait...? He isn't sure he really gets it right now? (But he will, later, surely). )

... Can Tsukuyomi stay here too? ( Another name. Urashima is just tossing out random names all over the place. He's a popular kid??? ) He belonged to my friend...but I'm watching him until he comes back.

He's a deer! He's really nice... really!

( He. So a stag. )

[If he doesn't get it, he will get an example real fast. To Argo, all hair is meant to be pulled on. That's how you get someone's attention!

Nari thinks for a moment. A deer... damn, one of his favorite things to hunt.]

What's Tsuk.... the deer look like? Any specific spots? Missing ear or something? I'm a hunter, so I gotta know what not to shoot at.

( A... hunter? )

He's about this big! ( Holding out his arms and trying his best to show what he means. ) And he's silver and has gold antlers! He's really easy to tell apart so don't hurt him, okay?! Roxas won't be happy if he comes back and he's hurt!

[Who the hell is Roxas and why does the deer sound like a shiny albino deer?]

Silver with gold... sounds like what the goddess Artemis used to travel around with, or close to the old legends of the white stag in King Arthur's legend... I won't hunt that one. But all the others are fair game. Venison makes for good eating.

[Nari wouldn't have hurt that deer anyways because of rarity.]

That's Roxas! ( Color Urashima surprised. ) He's Artemis!

... I don't know King Arthur, though...

Nari looks at Argo, who seems to be equally amused at this predicament.]

Would you say you're eating cow for dinner or beef? Pork or pig? It's just a term for animals that can be hunted and eaten, generally mammalian. Like deer.

( He's just a humble sword spirit? A peasant? )

Not really. It's a term used for the meat of the animal. I mean, look at the term veal. It refers to the meat of a baby cow.

[Gosh now he wants veal...]

... I thought it was beef.

Beef is adult cow. Veal is baby cow. There's a difference in taste and texture of the meat between the two of them. Once hormones really kick in, it changes a lot.
