KINYOBI is open for business!
Who: Gojyo and anyone!
What: Drinking, fighting, insulting this disgusting bar...
When: Any time from August 9th through the end of August
Where: KINYOBI, in Musashino, Tokyo, Japan
Warnings: Please put warnings in the headers of your comments as they become relevant.
1. Friday nights at Friday's
Kinyobi is a small, dark bar, located on a street that was never nice, not even when the plant across town was open. This is an industrial area, and this used to be a blue-collar, industrial bar -- the floors are permanently sticky, there's dents and gouges and names carved in every wooden surface, the restroom is a horror movie, and the booze is either watered down or rotgut, depending on the day of the week and the mood of the bartender.
Still. It's home.
2. Shinki Sundays
Gojyo looks up when the bell on the door chimes, and smiles broadly at the newcomer. "Hey, come on in!" he calls. "You're shinki, right? Lemme see your mark."
3. Wildcard?
And some images to give an idea of what the inside of Kinyobi looks like:

Edit as of October 6th, in-game: there is now a bar dog.

He nods out at the rest of the bar, giving the glass a final twist with the rag. "This place has been keepin' me busy." And, with ill-concealed pride: "I pretty much run the place, you know."
It's not even a lie. He doesn't touch the real books, the ones that juggle sums of money he knows better than to even think about too hard, but he manages the physical inventory, keeps the place clean (with a little help, sure), runs the bar five nights a week, single-handedly brought in most of the new customers... in all other ways, it's his bar. He even rebuilt the wall behind him, last week. And a good chunk of the ceiling, too.
"Which means it's my prerogative to offer free drinks to friends."

Her smile widens. Taking pride in one's work and responsibilities is certainly something Ayumu can relate to and identify with. That feeling of accomplishment at doing a good job is wonderful for boosting one's spirits, too.
"It looks nice. You must work really hard to keep this place in business."
She chuckles a bit, gesturing to the bottles behind him.
"What kind of drinks do you have?"
no subject
"We've got pretty much everything," he shrugs, which isn't a total lie. There is pretty much everything -- there's beer, and vodka, tequila, whiskey, rum. There's fruity things, and regional favorites like sake and plum wine. It's just that they're all the cheapest possible distillations of those particular drinks. "D'you know what you like? Somethin' sweet, maybe?"

Being a shinki himself and sharing this strange selective memory loss over one's self and history, that is. She chuckles a bit, leaning forward over the bar, giving him a clear look down her dress, as she squints at the bottles behind Gojyo. There's just so many.
"Something sweet, maybe. Nothing too bitter."

The drink he sets in front of her is a soft green, and bubbles gently. It's a hefty shot -- more like two shots -- of the brilliantly green liquor Midori, mixed with lemon-lime soda. "One melon soda, for the lady."

Ayumu peers at the drink curiously. Soda's another one of the newer new things she's encountered. She's only tried it once and spent a full minute just listening to the sound it made after she popped the tab in the can. This is the first time she's been able to really look at it, though.
After a moment, she picks up the glass and takes an experimental sip. It is sweet.
"This is pretty good. Thanks."
