Who: Yona and anyone!

Where: Her temple, the Far Shore, the Near Shore
What: Yona has decided this is the month she's going to learn more about this strange world she's been brought to.

A. The Near Shore

[ With most of the excitement over the past few weeks, Yona's in the mood for some distracting, something to keep her busy, or something she can engage in with the new companions she's made in this place. The biggest priority here is understanding more about this world she's found herself in and so she makes several trips down to the mortal world with the intent of exploring and learning more about it.

The place is full of wonders and she's often easily distracted as she wanders, whether it's by some strange new type of food that might catches her attention or a colorful storefront that draws her over to peruse strange wares. The first time she discovers an open market fills her with delight, because this is at least a little more familiar to how commerce is dealt in her world, but then she discovers a grocery store and her mind is blown all over again. She might loose several hours wandering through a bookstore, filled with more tomes than she's ever seen in one place. A colorful candyshop has her stopping to pick out gifts to take back home to her friends, picking out a strange and varied sample, all of them ones she'd never heard of before, but look fantastic all the same.

But as fascinating as it is, it's also a little overwhelming, and all too easy to get turned around. Hopefully, she can manage to not get too lost, or at the very least find someone to point her in the right direction, if she does... ]

B. The Far Shore/Aine's Temple

[ Things at her temple are often lively and filled with laughter. Any visitors are greeted with happy smiles, although on occasion, it's the temple's other residents that beat the gods and shinki to the greeting. Namely a mischievous pair of kittens who answer to the names of Eun and Min and enjoy getting into every bit of trouble they can find. Or perhaps it's one of the horses that make their home among the orchards, an intelligence in their gazes that speaks to much more than just a common animal and hints at fae bloodlines that come as part of Aine's heritage.

Or perhaps you've wandered by and there's a conspicuous lack of a greeting. A little wandering around might lead you to find the temple's goddess seated in the center of one of the gardens, eyes closed and her attention focused on.... something. Occasionally strange things will happen around her, such as a sudden gust of icy wind rushing outwards away from her or a shadowy outline of a bubble around her or a fiery claw slashing downwards, shattering a nearby rock in half before vanishing abruptly. Yona's only starting to understand what her magic can do and learning to master it is proving to be a challenge... ]

Ahh! [ She starts a little when he lands beside her out of nowhere. You'd think she'd be used to that with Jae-Ha around all the time, but she can usually feel him coming. ] I'm not lost!

...

I don't think I'm lost? Actually, I wasn't really.... headed anywhere in particular so I'm not sure I could get lost at the moment.

[He raises an eyebrow.]

...Are you trying to get familiar with the city?

Yes. [ She looks sheepish. ] Or anything in it, really. Everything here is fairly strange to me, I must confess.

It can be difficult to adjust when you come from a different time.

[He can completely sympathize.]

Have you entered a 'mall' yet then?

A mall? [ She blinks, tilting her head to the side as she tries to recall if she's been told about those. ] No, I don't believe so? What is a mall?

It's a building with multiple stores - usually clothing - inside.

[If Matsumoto were here, she'd be dragging Toushirou all over the place.]

But it's generally a place where most people would go to in order to spend time together.

Sort of like a marketplace, but indoors? [ She hums, trying to imagine that. ] They must be very large buildings.

They are and usually popular.

[He looks at her.]

...I can take you to one if you'd like.

[ She blinks in surprise before casting him a sheepish smile. ] Oh, I wouldn't want to interrupt your purpose in being here today. Were you here on a prayer?

[He shakes his head.]

No, I was just doing a quick round in the area. I have time.

Has there been trouble around here? [ That has her glancing around curiously. ] But if you're certain I won't be interrupting anything, I always enjoy learning about new places in this world.

There hasn't, but there are still some spirits out and about. [His job as a shinigami still keeps him busy.

He tilts his head just the slightest.]

There's a mall nearby then that we can go check out.

Have they been causing problems? [ It doesn't occur to her that he might be here doing anything other than his duties as a god. ] Ahh, okay! If you're certain. That sounds like fun!

Just being playful. [Yona, don't ever ask him what he really is.

But he gives a nod.]

It's not too far from here. This way.

Oh, well that shouldn't be a problem, right? [ She looks relieved by that, because surely that couldn't be bad.

She falls into step beside him as they start off. ]

So your home is a similar world to this one, I take it?

Not really as long as they don't bug the humans too much.

[Either way, he starts leading her to the mall.]

It is.

Do they do that often? Aren't the humans unaware of them for the most part anyway?

[ That's seemed to be the way of it from what she's observed, at least. ]

Yes and no. Spirits of the dead that just haunts people are different since they like to play with humans, anyway.

[ She walks with him, following his lead to this mall, wherever that might be. ]

Ahh, I see. Do you find very many of those?

It's calmed down since Obon ended.

[The troubles of a shinigami.

But lo and behold, they're at the mall and already, there were people bustling inside and out.]

Well, that's a relief, then?

[ It should be, anyway. Although now that they've arrived, Yona stops short to blink up at the structure with wide eyes. ]

Everything here is so big. How does anyone manage not to get lost constantly?

They have a directory.

[Things he only knows because of Matsumoto.

He leads her over to one, gesturing to the map displayed and the stores listed under it.]

There's several of these around the building so that it can help people know where they want to go. It can...get confusing.

Oh! [ Yona leans in to peer at the map in fascination, because this does make it easier. ]

There's still so much. I've never even imagined a marketplace so large.

[He crosses his arms.]

As time moved on, so did people. It's easier to have so many stores in one place than having to keep them separate and going through more lengths to find it.

So they came together for convenience. [ She hums thoughtfully at that as she follows him inside, wide eyes taking in everything. ] Part of me wants to say I can't imagine there would be a need for so many shops, but considering how many people flock to these modern cities, I suppose that's not true, is it? It's more crowded on their streets daily than it was even on festival days in my world.
