The fact that you’re alive is a miracle

[The last couple of days had shown a severe lack of a certain red-headed eye-patch shinki around and about and given her god ability it did bring about some concern to Hajime. His thread was all over the place and there was even a short while she thought he had disappeared like many had before. But no, his life-thread was back though there were some added changes to it. A difference in color and bit fraying to the delicate glowing string.

Yep.

It was a good time to pay a visit to a friend that hadn’t visited them in awhile. Hajime did her best to explain what she had seen with Lavi’s thread to Yuto and to no surprise, the shinki also thought it would be a good idea to pay Lavi a visit. Just to make sure he was alright. If he wasn’t out and about or able to come to them, then they’d go to him. Another handy thing about threads that Lavi already knew about. Hajime didn’t need directions. She just followed his thread all the way to Hel’s temple with Yuto in tow.

Twirling the glowing-string delicately around her index finger, she came to a stop just outside the temple grounds. A gentle tug on the thread showing it leading to the temple and maybe give Lavi just a bit of warning that they were there. If he noticed or was awake that is.

So this had to be Lavi’s place...or he was doing another sleep over.]

Here we are! You wanna knock, Yuto? Maybe Lavi will answer. He’s home.

[The fact that Lavi hasn't showed up at Hajime's temple for so long was already worrying, so when Yuto heard about changes in Lavi's thread he had no doubt they have to check on him. Preferably as fast as possible. Remembering how his other friends vanished, Yuto can't help but worry. He doesn't want to lose anyone ever again.

Once they reach the temple, the shinki doesn't waste any time but walks up to the door and knocks.]

[The tug on his thread has Lavi being drawn into awareness, pulled out of his sleep.

It's been getting a little easier to move, though he's come to realize that the more he moves, the more pain will come later and he wouldn't be able to move for a while as his movements become restricted.

However, it doesn't stop him from being curious, alert as he carefully makes his way to the door. Upon entering, he isn't surprised to see Hajime standing outside, though Yuto's presence was a bit surprising. Did Hajime tell her shinki what happened?]

...Hajime? Yuto? What brings you guys here?

[Hajime perks when the door opens up. Spotting Lavi there she lets the glowing thread fall free from her fingers. Once it leaves her touch, it vanishes from view and it'll no longer feel like someone is practically tugging on Lavi's soul]

Afternoon! You haven't come to see us in awhile, Lavi. So we came to see you!

[She grins, winking at the red head from behind Yuto.]

Weeee were worried about you.

[There's a small nod to Yuto.]

[When the door opens and Lavi shows in their view, Yuto looks him over with a concerned frown on his face.]

Just like Hajime said, we were worried about it.

[He crosses his arms over his chest, as if waiting for explanation.]

Did something happen?

[It's only been a few days, Hajime. How often do you think he goes to see you?

Then again, he gets the feeling it had something to do more with his thread looking different than usual.]

Ahh, something like that.

[He studies the two of them before he breathes out, suddenly looking tired.] Come in first. Better to have this conversation inside.

[Hajime wastes no time heading inside, maybe even giving Yuto a gentle push along if he's being slow. Her eyes gaze about the temple before settling back on Lavi.]

Yeah, you look prety bad Lavi.

[Hajime doesn't need to push him,since Yuto quickly makes his way inside. His concerned gaze never leaves Lavi.

Still, he doesn't say anything. Only waits for Lavi to tell them what happened.]

It's been a bad few days.

[He turns away a bit in order to find somewhere to sit, gesturing the two to follow him.

It's evident that right now, he looks as though all he wants to do is sleep.]

A couple of days ago, I was found by one of those pathways to the underworld. Shun told me that he hasn't heard from me since the fifth, but I don't have any memories of what happened on the seventh to the tenth.

Pathway by the underworld?

[Her eyes widen a bit at that. Everything that ever had to do with the underworld has never been good. Just the fact that Lavi was anywhere near there and went missing for a couple of days is concerning itself.]

That explains why your thread looked so funny...

[When he hears about it, Yuto's eyes widen. The underworld was the place where they went to look for Vector... Though, it's true they never found any traces of him going there, but the underworld still means trouble and brings back some bad memories.

Yuto is even more worried about Lavi now.]

You should rest.

I'm fine, I'm fine. I've been resting ever since I got back.

[Honestly, he's been under constant supervision from Cardia and Allen, along with various check-ins with some people.]

Besides, it'd be good for me to do some walking every now and then. My limbs need the exercise.

You're here and still breathing, that's what matters most. I'd give it awhile but I'm sure you'll be okay in a couple days so long as there's nothing else wrong.

[Hajime just smiles sweetly, reaching out to poke Lavi square in the chest.]

If you don't wanna rest then you got some catching up to do with me and Yuto, right?

[Yes you're getting tossed into this too Yuto]

[Yuto looks at Lavi, arms crossed over his chest and a concerned frown still in place. Then he sighs, a sound that seems more like he's relieved more than anything else.]

I'm just glad you're back in one piece, too, but..

[Ah, yes. There is a "but".

Yuto walks up close to Lavi and looks him straight in the eye.]

Please, just be careful and don't push yourself.

[He's worried about a friend, okay.]

[There's a bit of a look directed at you, Hajime. He's not exactly pleased with whatever insinuations you're implying here, but then he shifts his attention back over to Yuto.

....

Why do you have to look at him straight in the eye, Yuto.

Why.

So, he gives a nod.]

Don't worry. I won't do anything to push myself.

[D'aw what good friends they are]

[Hajime perks up, clapping her hands together before taking a few steps behind Yuto. Her smile grows as she suddenly leaps forward with arms spread wide, practically colliding and shoving Yuto into Lavi with with force of the leap and her body weight. It's an attempt to catch them both in a sudden awkward group hug because everyone is glad to hear Lavi is okay and it feels necessary.]

[He should've known that Hajime would do something like this, but he never actually expected she would push him into Lavi. After that everything happened too fast. Yuto collides with Lavi in the most awkward way possible. His face is smashed against Lavi's and for a few seconds he can feel the other's lips. It leaves him stunned and unable to think for a while.

What is this? A shojo manga? Don't accidental kisses like this one happen only in some stupid romances?

Yuto pushes himself away from Lavi, trying to free himself from Hajime at the same time. And he's blushing, even though he's not quite sure why. It was just some stupid accident, nothing else!

And so Yuto looks at Hajime.]

What did you do that for?

[No, he's... not exactly angry. Just utterly confused about what he's feeling right now.]

[The moment he sees Hajime move behind Yuto, he's already getting a bad feeling about this.

What is she planning?

However, his arms immediately shoots up to steady the other shinki, but it does nothing to prevent their lips from colliding with one another. It causes him to freeze, mind going blank.

He was partially relieved when Yuto pushes away, trying not to think too much on the action. He wishes he has his scarf on him, idly tugging on the collar of his shirt and bring it up a little in a vain attempt to hide his reddening cheeks.]

That was uncalled for, Hajime.

[That wasn't her intention. Well....not really anyway. She wanted to bring them together but the lip lock is a surprise for her as well. She lets go of the pair and stands to the side, staring in awe.

Not fully intented but she's not sorry either! Which is made very clear by the squeal she lets out as she bounces up and down. WHY DIDNT SHE HAVE HER PHONE OUT.

Would it be too much to ask for them to do it again?

Hajime just beams, giving them a salute as she spins around in a full circle]

Friends should stick close to each other but that [giggle] was something else.

It's okay! I'm not embarrassed. Don't mind me!

[As if that reassures either of them. Pecking is no biggie! Now a second kiss....now that would be a biggie!]

[Yuto is just staring agape, completely lost as to what to think or say. Finally he shakes his head, closing his mouth.

Hajime, he's not surprised you're not embarrassed. You seem to like this kind of things anyway. Push people into other people and make things awkward.

This is how Yuto feels right now. Incredibly awkward, to the point that he can't even look at Lavi. He's blushing still plagued by a strange feeling deep inside his heart.]

Hajime!

[He yells even though he didn't mean to. But he's frustrated so much right now. Frustrated with himself and frustrated about Hajime's behavior. An exasperated sigh escapes his lips.]

...Why are you like this.

Whose fault was it that that happened?

[Hajime, why are you slowly becoming the bane of his existence?

He still wants to like you, you know.

But then he sighs, calming himself and crosses his arms as he looks at her.]

....You don't need to look so happy, you know.

[How can she not be happy right now?! That's like asking for the sun to stop shining!

She just smiles at them both, maybe a little softer to Yuto. She's sorry but not sorry and that's why she isn't going to apologize because she's not sure what to think about it. She hadn't meant to embarrass Yuto or make things awkward but it wasn't like it was a bad thing either.]

I'll let you two talk it out.

[Yep. That seems like a good idea. Her gaze shifts to Lavi as she finger guns at him]

We'll catch up later, 'kay? Dodging me is no good, you know? Take care of Yuto! Bye-Bye!

[Just like that she's skipping around him. Yuto gives a encouraging pat on the shoulder as she passes him and heads out the door humming.]

[Yuto gives her incredulous look. What? Just what is she thinking?! His cheeks turn bright red again and he wants to yell at Hajime. "Talk out what? It was only an accident!"

But then he remembers that obviously Hajime picked up on his confused feelings. So that's what she wants? He is supposed to speak with Lavi about that now?

Once Hajime is gone, Yuto just looks into the distance.

He... can't do it. He can't look at Lavi right now.

In the end he lets a helpless sigh.]

I can't believe this.

.....

[Lavi watches Hajime leave, still feeling a bit dumbfounded by the sudden turn of events.

What was supposed to happen now?

Hajime, why are you like this? Although, he is rather curious as to what she meant by "talking it out". Surely Hajime couldn't have picked up on anything from his side, especially when Lavi is still reeling from trying to recover from what's going on.

A blink before he laughs softly.]

That's Hajime for now. But do you want anything to drink?

[Yuto glances at him with unusual timidness. Then he looks away, taking another moment to just calm down so he doesn't look like an idiot. The kiss? It's the past. An accident. Nothing more. He tells himself that a few more times before he actually speaks.]

Hajime can be ridiculous.

[That's right. There's nothing to talk about here. Yuto finally turns to look at Lavi, but he's still avoiding the other's gaze.]

...Maybe some tea would be good?

You still love her for it.

[It's said as a matter-of-fact because yes, Hajime is ridiculous but he knows Yuto adores her all the same for it.

He smiles slightly at the timidity that emanates from the other shinki, though.]

Tea, it is! You can go take a seat while I make some.

You're right.

[Yuto says with yet another sigh. Then he frowns a little.]

Maybe I'll make it? You still should rest.

[Lavi chuckles softly.]

It's okay, Yuto. It won't take long, but if you're that worried, you can just come in with me.
