This Girl is on Fire!

[ How things ended up like this, Mikoto doesn't know. But when the old man got hit with the bat, and the girl fell in the pool, and the balloons caught on fire---


Well.... It'll make more sense if we start from the beginning,

You find it?

[ Mikoto asks Bandou who he'd recruited only an hour before. ]

[ At this point, Bandou's pretty sure he doesn't have to try to sense the ayakashi. There's a large billow of smoke coming from this person's backyard and plenty of kids can be heard screaming and crying. Bandou has half a mind to just say fuck this and walk away - just let the fire department or whoever figure it out. But, he's not that much of an asshole. So he's just gonna stand there staring at the house and wondering how many broken bones he's gonna get out of this. ]

Eh...yeah I think this is it.

[ As the pair stand there, staring at the smoke, a woman's scream has Mikoto jumping over the decorated entrance. The god lands in the backyard in an easy crouch and rises to his feet.

Unfortunately, what awaits him on the other side is nothing short of chaos. The mischievous ayakashi having sensed the god nearby influenced the boy it had gotten its claws into to pick up a bat and randomly start smashing tables with it. Stunned by the sudden outburst, all four adults are slow to react. It's the old man who snaps out of it first and quickly comes to the rescue. A tug of war quickly ensues between man and child, but the second he wins he's crashing backwards driven back by his own momentum as the bat smacks him in the face grounding him on the floor.

Meanwhile, the ayakashi uses the confusion to springboard off the kid and make its escape through the pool area where the birthday girl stands in stunned silence, unaware of the danger. As the creature rushes past her, it throws her into the deep which has her mother screaming, while her father instantly goes after her, pushing someone out of the way who ends up tripping straight into a tiki torch that comes slamming down hitting a line of balloons that, on contact, begin to explode as fire meets air, fueling the flames. ]

[ Despite reeeeealy thinking they should just ditch this mission, Bandou follows along, hopping over the fence with more ease than he would probably expect from himself. And the sight of what was going on is more than just an intimidating one. Better mentally prepare himself to head home with some injuries now. ]

...Dibs on the drowning girl?

[ Mikoto shrugs and lets his aura sweep across the backyard engulfing it in red, letting it smother the fire snuffing it out without ever moving a finger. ]
