If Light cannot save us, I know Darkness will.
Who: Zero and Open
When: August
Where: Various
What: Hades has returned, a year younger, and without memories. Feel free to meet the titular holder of the god of the Underworld.
Warnings: Vampires and Cerberus
i. The Shattered Surface
[ Late into the evening, Zero leaves his temple under the cover of night to track down not an ayakashi but a vampire he sensed in the city days before. He's restless and hungry. With his heart in turmoil, the pomegranates do little to calm his bloodlust. So, days after his return, he goes out on a hunt, not as a god, but as a Hunter. It's why he doesn't tell the shinki in his temple. His hunger, he knows it's his own problem.
He moves by the light of the moon, his senses on high alert so when he feels the presence of a vampire nearby, his mouth pulls up into a disturbing smile. He pulls his gun out, the moonlight glinting off the metal as the chase begins. He's been tracking vampires for over a year on a nightly basis so the hunt doesn't last long. If you're out and about, the loud sound of a gun being fired will echo through the area and if you're nearby you might even catch sight of a pile of ash at his feet, while the Hunter wipes his mouth of blood. ]
ii. The Heavy weight of Stone
[ Unlike his previous stay, Hades takes to his duties seriously this time. He doesn't bother with pleasantries but he does his job. Every prayer that comes his way will be answered. Unfortunately, they've piled up after all this time. Worse, yet. He's noticed a disturbing pattern in the prayers directed at him.
Death.
It's the only time people seek out the god of the Underworld. Those whose grief has taken over every facet of their lives pleading to him for the impossible bear the heaviest weight on his shoulders. So, it's due to his new found sense of duty that Hades deems it necessary to answer them too. So, he does.
Late into the evening, Zero sits on a bench with a hand pressed against his temple. He can still hear her. A mother stricken with grief. Up above, a the streetlight begins to flicker as Zero tries to scrub the memory but only drives it further into focus. Her words, broken by her tears filled with desolation and loss as she pleads to him, asking for the impossible but he can't. He can't lie to her and she-- The streetlights above suddenly burst, shattering into dozens of pieces that rain down on him cutting his cheek as he tries to reign back his emotions. ]
iii. By the Light of Day
[ Hades has taken to long walks by the beach early in the mornings followed closely by his only loyal friend. A large ten foot hellhound made from silver rose vines. The god knows what it's supposed to represent, a mix of himself - hunter, vampire, and now, godhood. It didn't take him long to figure out people's general reaction to Hades companion so he's made it a habit to cut to the point when he see's the question lingering in the eyes of those who cross paths with him. ]
His name is Cerberus.
iv. Stained Glass Windows
I need your help.
[ Have a random Zero coming up to you and point-blank asking for your assistance. ]

ii. please!
He rushes closer to the individual in question where the street lights had shattered. He was even more surprised to recognize the individual he had not talked to in a long time. Their last encounter was when he got a bit too curious and had to stick around the Underworld because he ate the pomegranates-- never again to say the least. ]
Zero-- what are you doing sitting there when something shatters?! You're injured!
[ Of course, he had no idea Zero had no memories of his previous stay or even that they knew each other. He was more fussy about the injuries that the hunter had on his face aside the details. ]
no subject
Who are you.
no subject
What do you mean who am I? I know we haven't spoken to each other in a while but this isn't the time to be joking--- you're not joking are you?
[ As he paused between his words to realize that Zero's face showed no signs of that and let's be honest, this kind of person would never really joke about stuff like this.]
no subject
I'm not.
Whoever you knew before, that's not who I am anymore.
no subject
I see-- well in any case I don't have a lot of my memories before coming here. I can kind of understand when you say it like that. However, you don't look much different-- perhaps a tad younger but--
[ Well how could he pit this without sounding like he's offending Zero? ]
Your personality doesn't seem that much different.
no subject
[ That's the third time someone's commented on that specific aspect. Had he somehow been deaged? But now? ]
You're not the first to say that.
[ He drops his hand to his neck, feeling his hunger surface for a moment. ]
Tell me, how old was I before?
no subject
[ However, it's hard to forget how much Zero towers over his 5'4" form. ]
I see--perhaps it is a phenomenon that we have yet an explanation for. This world is quite complex if anything.
[ Mikleo stared at him for a moment. Well, he couldn't really. ]
I can't say exactly, but you were taller, however your physical appearance outside of that has not changed much.

[Izumo just raises an eyebrow at him.]
no subject
[ He'd do it on his own but he tried that and almost broke one of the pieces so when he saw a shinki around, he figured it was worth a try. ]
no subject
[And it might also be a sort of test to see how much Zero actually remembers.]
no subject
A prayer. [ A pause. ] From someone who needs at least one of them answered.
no subject
[Zero, you have the worst luck with memories, don't you.]
no subject
[ Which isn't far. Also, yes... yes he does. Hopefully, this time he'll remember things. orz ]

I suppose you would have to name something so huge.
no subject
He's not a thing.
no subject
[Agreed, pets might not be objects, but they certainly weren't people.]
And he's massive.
no subject
He won't hurt you.
no subject
[Snow White covered his mouth with a bubbly laugh.]
I'm not afraid of him. Simply making an observation. Besides, he seems wonderfully obedient.
no subject
He's not.
i - how bout back at the 11th?
It was barely there, probably the same amount that a papercut would leave, but there was still blood drawn around those embedded teeth.
All Shizuo saw was a teenager wiping his mouth. ]
Hey, you see some crazed jackass run through here?
Sounds good!
..........
no subject
You listening? He should've landed not too far from here. Weird eyes, probably missing teeth.
[ He was about to show the teeth he'd seen stuck in his arm before. Except when he holds the arm up, all he sees is ash there instead, mixing in with the light amount of blood that had been drawn from the initial bite. ]
... The hell?
no subject
He steps away from the pile of ash and sets Bloody Rose back in his holster. ]
I took care of it.
[ You know, the pile of ash that slowly being reduced to nothing by the wind? Yeah, he took care of it alright. ]
no subject
All he does recognize is that the kid's putting away a gun- where'd he even get it? Sharak? Ah, it doesn't matter. He's still talking and acknowledging Shizuo's existence, so obviously the kid is from the Far Shore. ]
Took care of the guy? What the hell did you do? Cuz I'm pretty sure he's sick.
[ Sick enough to bite people. ]

[ He tells him as he turns to leave. ]
