In anticipation of the latest round of new arrivals, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.

Gods and shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. In that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the details of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.




God Training

Unfortunately, Bishamon is away on business today, but her shinki as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods will offer information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves receive as orientation when they arrive.

Shinki Training

Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline as well as offering a lecture on the basics of what is expected of a shinki and the importance of teamwork with other shinki and with gods. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.

Physical Training

The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) This is vital for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
It's also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.

Rest and Refreshments

There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

[There's a lot of lunging and fluid movement in her style, swiping, turning, blocking her imaginary opponent. It's how she finally ends up seeing her audience; mid-turn, wooden blade up in a guarding stance, she spies this unfamiliar face...watching her.]

[And of course, she stumbles, caught off-guard, and has to take a few steps before she can right herself, letting the practice sword fall to her side.]

Huh? ( He looks surprised when she suddenly stops. Why did she do that? Oh... was it because she saw him? He holds up both hands in a disarming manner, waving them in front of him, ) Oh!

No, no! I was just watching! I've never seen that style before... it's really cool!

Oh...[She glances to the side, a little sheepish. It is kind of a...unique style. Graceful, but efficient.] That's fine. You just caught me by surprise. I didn't think I was doing something worth watching.

( Is she shy? That doesn't make any sense. Why would she be shy? She's clearly very good so she should be confident! )

Heh heh, sorry~! I just didn't want to bother you.

( And he shakes his head, )

You're really good! You can use it one handed and two handed, right? ( At least, based on some of the moves he'd seen. ) You're used a heavy sword? ''

( He's really curious! He's really excited! And maybe he should explain a bit? )

I can use a sword too! But it's really small.

[It's less about shyness and more about...still not used to the idea of people wanting to watch swordplay for leisure. It's not a foreign concept, no, but there was little that simply watching can do for your own survival.]

Ah...yes, I can. You could tell all of that just by watching? [A pause.] What sort of sword is it?

( Nodding, nodding. It's not surprising when you know Urashima himself is a sword spirit... Of course he's going to catch on quickly! )

Huh? Oh, it's... ( He reaches behind him for a sword tucked away at his back! He holds out a sheathed sword. It's probably no longer than Lucina's forearm-- about 13 inches (33cm). ) Here it is!

( He'll unsheathe to show the blade and the distinct carving on it. )

Urashima Kotetsu! A real Kotetsu sword, heh heh.

[Ah, it really is quite small! Probably better for close combat than an ordinary longsword...she nods approvingly.]

It's a lovely blade. I'm afraid I'm not quite as knowledgeable on other types of swords, but is the carving a usual addition?

( A lovely blade... yes, good. This person can recognize quality when she sees it and he glows with pride. )

It depends~! ( He's getting excited.... ) A lot of swords have carvings on them like cranes and dragons and famous heroes. But this one's really nice, don't you think?

( Of course it is. It's the best. The only thing that would be cooler is if it was also a dragon and even then he wouldn't be sure if he liked it more. )

Yes, it is! [There's something so incredibly familiar about his enthusiasm, it makes Lucina smile.] It's a shame I cannot do the same with my own blade, but Falchion has never relented in the face of battle. I doubt it would yield to a blacksmith's touch for even the simplest carving.

[minogame]

( If Owain could be any type of spirit, he would be a sword spirit. )

Eeeeeh? Stronger than a smith? ( Something like that is possible? He's curious and wants to see. LUCINA,
SHOW HIM RIGHT NOW. ) Doesn't it get tired?

( Tired, not worn. )

I...do not know if it becomes tired, but the blade itself has never tarnished or chipped in its many thousands of years of existence.

[She motions him to follow as she returns to her pile of stuff.] Would you like to see?

Thousands?!

( What the heck? He's surprised. He's really surprised and flustered now? He's just a humble Kotetsu sword,
only a few hundred years old! And he's standing in the presence of a sword that is thousands of years old? The imperial swords aren't even that old.

And he gets to see? It's actually impossible to hide how excited he is at the opportunity, )

Yes, please!

( At least he's still polite. )

Yes. It has been passed down through my bloodline for numerous generations.

[Not a direct bloodline, mind you - Anri never had any children, and he was the very first to use Falchion, but still. Lucina guides him over to where her things are, carefully unsheathing Falchion and holding it out for him to look at. The hilt and pommel look to be in a state of well-worn care for now, but the blade itself is flawless.]

This is Falchion.

( So it's a family sword? With childlike curiosity, he follows closely, wanting to see thist reasured sword.
It's definitely different from any sword he's ever seen before-- it looks heavy for someone her size. Can she really use it?
And he looks at the blade, still in perfect condition!? He's practically glowing with excitement and he only barely manages to contain himself. Out of respect? It's definitely respect. )

Falchion.( He'll make sure to remember that name. ) Hmmm... do you think you're lucky to have it? Or is it lucky to have you? Or both?

I am very lucky for it to have chosen me. [She smiles softly, eyes flitting down to her reflection in the blade.] It has deemed only a select few in my family worthy of wielding it. In the hands of the unworthy, the blade is dull and useless.

[Except, surprisingly, for cutting apples. Which. You shouldn't do with an ancient blade.]

Though I've been told it won't do much in the face of this world's threat, I am glad it came with me regardless.

[minogame]

(He's quiet, watching Lucina as she admires her blade and listening to how highly she speaks of it. It definitely sounds like a special sword and hearing how much she values it just makes him feel all warm and nice inside. He's happy but he's happy for her and he's happy for Falchion too.)

I'm sure it's glad to be with you too. You know! If you take care of your sword, it'll take care of you too. So if you do your best here, so will Falchion.

(What a serious moment! Perhaps a bit strange considering he's talking about a sword like its a real person at times but it's nice! But Urashima isn't one to be serious for long so he claps his hands together once, smiling brightly at Lucina as he begins to ask the most important questions,)

I know your sword's name but I don't know yours! I'm Urashima Kotetsu. (Just... like... his sword...) But you can just call me Urashima.

[She nods in agreement.] I will do all I can for it. Though I am not as skilled in certain aspects of upkeep, I do make sure to maintain the blade as well as I am able.

[Just like his sword, huh? Well, it's not like she hasn't heard stranger monikers.] My name is Lucina. It's good to meet you, Urashima.
