In anticipation of the latest round of new arrivals, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.

Gods and shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. In that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the details of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.




God Training

Unfortunately, Bishamon is away on business today, but her shinki as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods will offer information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves receive as orientation when they arrive.

Shinki Training

Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline as well as offering a lecture on the basics of what is expected of a shinki and the importance of teamwork with other shinki and with gods. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.

Physical Training

The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) This is vital for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
It's also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.

Rest and Refreshments

There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

If it keeps you busy, then it's good advice without you running all over the place. [It's not fun, but it's artistic enough that Lavi can see the benefits of it. He looks down at the flower crown.] Planning on giving any away?

[The redhead is quiet, thinking it over before he dips his head in a slight nod of agreement.]

I'll see if I can manage to find someone who can help. I'd try the network, but that might be calling too much attention to myself. [And that isn't an option given his current state.]

Not these ones, unless anyone asks. But I doubt it. [Then again, people tend to find things interesting that Shun thinks shouldn't be, so he also wouldn't be surprised if someone asked for one. These are the wrong kind of flowers to be making a specific one, though.

As someone who prefers not to draw attention to himself on the BBS either, Shun gives an understanding nod.] Go through the people you know first, and the people they know if you trust their judgement of character. I'd be very surprised if there was nobody here with experience in that area.

Children might be fond of it more. [Like Nanako.

He leans back against the fountain, idly watching him.] There is someone I have in mind, but gotta check to see if he'd be okay with that first.

There's plenty of older people here I can think of who'd probably be interested as well, I just haven't seen most of them today. [Hajime, for example, and Ren doesn't always turn up to these things. There would be others, but those two come to mind first.

The vagueness of that statement gets a raise of the brow from Shun, but little else.] I'd do it soon if I were you, then. That doesn't sound like the sort of thing you should be letting lie for long.

...Like Hajime?

[He definitely knows about Hajime, at least.

There's a nod, though he looks a bit contemplative as he taps his fingers against his book.]

She's one of the ones I thought of, yes. [There's a faint note of exasperation to Shun's tone, which is basically his general tone when addressing matters of Hajime.] Though I think she'd accept anything if she could interpret it as a present. She claimed some of my vultures when they first escaped from my temple.

[He's still surprised she's managed not to lose any fingers there.]

...She claimed some of your vultures. [...What the fuck, Hajime?

Now that he thinks about it, he did see some vultures around her temple the last time he went there. Just. Cue stare of disbelief.] She really does seem that type of person who doesn't really care about that sort of thing.

Don't ask me why, but yes. [Lavi seems to be echoing Shun's thoughts on that particular matter.] Out of the options to see me doing this and actually be interested, she's probably the one I'd want to show up the least.

[At least Ren, Nanako and Wendy have some level of tact. Hajime seems to try, but doesn't often succeed.]

If it's Hajime, she's likely to come at a time where people would least expect it or when they don't want her to.

[He's seen his life thread show up several times before the moment he grew aware of it.]

Sounds like her. She's been leaving me alone recently, at least, so I haven't had to worry about her finding out anything she doesn't need to find out.

[Like the fact that Shun is dating someone, because Hajime is the absolute last person he wants to get anywhere near that information.]

[He chuckles.]

That's true. Best to leave certain information away from her.

She already knows more than I really need her to know. [But he elects not to elaborate on that, largely because it would open a somewhat complicated can of worms.

Picking up a couple more flowers, Shun glances up at Lavi.] How long have you been hanging around the gardens?

...Would that be because of her insistent personality? [At least he won't have Shun elaborate on it?

Lavi blinks at the question, looking thoughtful as he thinks about it.] A few hours by now, I believe. Kind of dozed off for a bit here, so I lost track of time.

Surprisingly, no. [He can at least say that much, even if he's not getting into the details. It had been somewhat of an obligation to share certain information relevant to Yuto with Hajime.

A few hours was longer than Shun was expecting, but he only frowns very briefly.] So you've been sleeping for most of that instead of looking at it.

[Letting it pass, the shinki pauses briefly.

He's not sure if that's an accusation, but he waves a hand.] ...It's fine. I'm moving around and not really injured. [That's not really reassuring, is it?] Besides, I figured one of the newcomers might be someone familiar with curses and whatnot since two of my healers can't figure out what it is without knowing its origin first.

[Lavi has actually gotten the wrong impression there, and Shun glances over with some mild bemusement.] That wasn't why I was asking, though I agree that coming to something like this is a better way to find people who might be familiar with curses. Besides, at least if you're sleeping, you're not overexerting yourself.

[Shun is definitely not the prime candidate to be giving anyone else shit for that, but he never really gives much of a damn about that.]

[He can't help but get a little defensive.

But he does look sheepish enough that his head dips a bit.]

True enough.

[There's a faint hum of agreement as if that much is obvious, and after a moment, Shun decides to backtrack to his original intent in pursuing that subject anyway.]

I was going to ask if you saw any mountain lilies. They're white with a yellow inside. [Asking for no particular reason, of course.]

Mountain lilies?

[There's a soft thoughtful hum before he nods.]

I have. What do you need them for?

You can answer that question yourself. [For the moment, he sets aside the flowers he'd initially planned on making another crown with. "Not these ones", he'd said regarding giving them away.]

It doesn't matter if they're dead, but I'm sure you remember that. [Lavi had been one of the ones to see him decay-reversing the flowers for his shrine arrangements, after all.]

[Ah, so that's why he's initially asked the question.

He gives a nod.]

Want me to direct you where they are then? [He'd offer to get it himself, but. He is rather comfortable right now.]

It means I won't have to go looking for them. [Which also probably means he'll actually end up back here intentionally next time instead of in a moment of irritable flight.

Either way, it seems like he's prepared to go find them himself, since he's already standing up.]

[A chuckle before he gives Shun directions to the mountain lilies.]

[It doesn't take Shun long to find them after he's directed - a few minutes later, he comes back with a handful of stems, all returned to full bloom. Some of them have single flowers, but others are paired on one stem, and once he sits down again, he pulls out his dagger.]

This sort of thing is why I hate having a garden. [Too much maintenance. As he makes the remark, he places the tip of the knife carefully and then runs it down the length of one paired stem, splitting it into a clean two stems.]

[Lavi smiles slightly.]

You say that, but you're pretty good when handling flowers.

[Much like the second or third time they met. He watches in some interest, though, as Shun works.]
