August Training
Who: Everyone
What: Information and Training
When: August 15
Where: Bishamon's temple, the Far Shore
Summary: Training and informational sessions for newly arrived gods and shinki

In anticipation of the latest round of new arrivals, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.
Gods and shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. In that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the details of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.

God Training
- Unfortunately, Bishamon is away on business today, but her shinki as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods will offer information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves receive as orientation when they arrive.
Shinki Training
- Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline as well as offering a lecture on the basics of what is expected of a shinki and the importance of teamwork with other shinki and with gods. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Physical Training
- The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) This is vital for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
It's also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.
Rest and Refreshments
- There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.
There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

In Summary:
- Get all the information you can handle
- Veteran new gods and shinki are welcome to volunteer showing the ropes
- Get in some training
- Don't get dehydrated
- Spectate if you want
- Have fun~

I think I'll be okay. [Cautiously, he lifts his foot, flexing it.] Yeah, nothing's broken-- ow-- okay! Yeah. It's fine. Just, you know.
[Slightly squashed. He gives Lucina an embarrassed grin.]
So, uh, I guess there's a time limit on the power, huh?
no subject
[Seriously, power stuff can wait, now she's looking around and hoping for someone who looks remotely healer-like]
And not let the user toss weapons around like that.
no subject
Until he dropped the mace on his foot, but, look: he'd been cool for a couple of minutes first. He's reaching down to untie his shoe and peel his sock off to inspect the damage.]
Seriously, look -- it's not too bad....
[There's a red blotch over the top of his foot where the mace's weight had struck it, but it's already fading. Tsuzuki suspects that's mostly just his own healing abilities -- it would've been an amazing bruise otherwise -- but even without healing, it wouldn't be worth making somebody look at.
He grins up at her, a little embarrassed.]
no subject
My...that is a lot less of an injury than I would have expected. Are you sure it's alright...?
no subject
[Or he could just admit he heals with inhuman speed -- but. Look. That still makes him uncomfortable to admit, and he doesn't yet know how Lucina might respond. Some people have a problem with nonhumans, after all. He'd seen them on the network, but most of them had been anonymous there...
... anyway. He smiles at her, nervously, and starts putting his sock back on.]
It'll just be a bit of a bruise. Anyway -- do you want to keep practicing? You could time how long it lasts. I promise I won't juggle the mace any more.
no subject
Do you promise? If so, I would greatly appreciate the chance.
no subject
[He ties his shoe, with a wry laugh, and wipes off his hand on his slacks before he holds it out to her again, to avoid the foot funk.]
no subject
Aaaaaand there you go, five more awesome minutes of awesome!]
no subject
Okay, so I'm going to put this back. Think maybe they've got weights somewhere around here? I could see how strong I am now.
no subject
[Though she's...going to watch you very carefully, buddy. Don't go and do something foolish again.]
no subject
Time me, too!
[And it's good he's said that, because by the time he's found the weights, almost three minutes have passed. He returns with a couple of fifty-pound barbells in each hand, grinning, and sets them down near her.]
no subject
That's a considerable amount to carry! And it hasn't yet worn off?
no subject
[He's suiting actions to words, hefting one of the barbells. Just to be safe, he grabs the bar with both hands. If this wears off, he's not dropping something on his foot again ... and even if this isn't spiky, it is a lot heavier.]
And see how long the strength lasts. Then you can see if you feel anything different between when it's working and when it's not.
no subject
[And she's watching, just in case. Not that she's super speedy and resistant to weights falling on her or something, but...out of concern.]
Oh! That's very clever, actually! Just - do mind what's underneath the weight, is all.
no subject
Hey, I'm not always dumb!
[Just sometimes. Like, for instance, when juggling maces. He checks under the barbell with exaggerated care -- it's just the paving stones of the dojo courtyard, so he thinks they're probably safe -- and then, abruptly, the real weight of the barbell hits his real strength as the boost runs out. His arms jolt earthward, but he adjusts after a second, hefts it and sets it aside. It's why he'd started with one. Fifty pounds isn't so bad, as long as he's ready for it.]
-- Okay, that's it.
How'd it feel? Could you tell any difference?
no subject
Hm...no, not too different. Though, perhaps I feel a little tired.
no subject
[He stretches, arms over his head, trying to get what feels like a brand-new crick out of his back.]
... Want a water bottle? I'm going to go grab one.
no subject
[She hums lightly, considering the offer.] You needn't go through the trouble, but if you are already getting one, I won't turn it down.
no subject
[He grins cheerfully at her.] Yeah, I'm already getting one! But I might need your help carrying those barbells back afterwards.
[And off he goes for two water bottles. He'll be back in half a minute, though, water in hand, to toss Lucina one.]
no subject
[She nods - yes, not a problem, she will help! - and catches the water when he returns.] Ah, thank you...
[...
So uh. Water bottles. Made of plastic with the twist tops, right? Lucina's just going to stare at it for like a minute.]
no subject
Uh -- is something wrong?
no subject
[Because, like. She can figure out it's a container. She can see the water in it. But how...do you drink from it?]
no subject
[He holds up his own bottle, demonstrating how to twist the cap off, then pop up the nozzle and tip it to drink.]
I guess you're from someplace that doesn't have this kind of thing, then?
no subject
Yes, we have nothing quite like this. The material alone is...strange. It feels to flimsy to be glass, and yet you can see through it. [Hold on, she's just gonna take a quick sip.] Hm-! Cold!
no subject
[What is it made from? Tsuzuki looks at his water bottle, making a dubious face.]
... some kind of chemicals, I guess?
