In anticipation of the latest round of new arrivals, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.

Gods and shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. In that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the details of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.




God Training

Unfortunately, Bishamon is away on business today, but her shinki as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods will offer information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves receive as orientation when they arrive.

Shinki Training

Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline as well as offering a lecture on the basics of what is expected of a shinki and the importance of teamwork with other shinki and with gods. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.

Physical Training

The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) This is vital for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
It's also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.

Rest and Refreshments

There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

[ Hibiki sidesteps on her own, too, so the cake is successfully dodged. In slow motion, no less.

Something clicks its nonexistent tongue. ]

[ Hibiki does her best to keep her temper. A vein pops in her forehead regardless. ] .....Let's enjoy our discussion in a quieter environment.

[ Something out there sure likes tossing cake at people. ]

But - but is that a common occurrence? What if we are accosted in another location?

[priforprince]

We can limit the available ammunition.

[ She's starting to get a sense for what this particular spirit enjoys, after all. Inconveniencing her. Aiming for her head. Causing loud noises (her least favorite). Making her messy. ]

[She'll follow, then, glancing around, trying to see if she can see this thing at work.]

But...what is it?

[priforprince]

A dissatisfied audience.

[ Hibiki keeps her eyes focused ahead, looking for a more peaceful spot. ] It won't disrupt your day again.

[ She had even apologized (sort of) and everything. All the other spirits had left.

But this one has drive. And ambition. ]

...Thank you?

[It's a weird sort of thing to say about something that moves on its own and is invisible]

Does - it doesn't follow you everywhere, does it?

[priforprince]

This place should be fine.

[ "This place" being a bench near the edge of this garden. A few of the shinki in residence pass by and eye them suspiciously, but since Hibiki is clearly not attempting actual trespass, they keep going. Slowly. ]

Alright...

[Yeah, the looks from those shinki are...weird. But they haven't actually left the garden, and since they're sitting, it should be obvious they're not going to anytime soon. And since Hibiki doesn't seem keen on answering her questions about this invisible entity...]

This temple is...much, much bigger than I first realized. Are all temples of native gods this way?

[priforprince]

Every temple is different. [ Would you like to have a seat? Hibiki would certainly like to encourage you to do so. ] They respond to the god.

[ This is her theory that she states as fact because she, in another world, in another period of her life, designed her temple. Had she truly created the ultimate residence for the god of performance? Or does Shikyoin Hibiki's charisma overwhelm even the deity whose role she plays?

Either way, she lives in a giant purple and white castle with an amusement park inside of it and she loves every minute that isn't spent being haunted. ]

[She will, thank you.] I see...so, the greater the god, the greater the temple. Is that the gist of it?

[That probably means she's just a small potatoes kind of god? But if that involves having a place to sleep with a real bed, then Lucina isn't complaining.]

[priforprince]

That's one theory.

[ Not technically a lie! There is no way to say for sure, and Hibiki herself has an enormous temple! This seems sufficient proof. ]

[challengesfate]

So no one knows for sure...I see.

[But it does honestly make a lot of sense, not that Lucina...particularly cares.]

Are there many things about this realm that are still a mystery?

[priforprince]

More than many would like to admit, I'm afraid.

[ including "who brought us here" and "what was their selection criteria" and "how could they have been so bad at picking everyone but hibiki" ]

It's a depressingly poorly-maintained system.

[ That she can't even take advantage of via hacking. So really, universe, what the hey. ]

Poorly maintained, perhaps, but obviously effective. It is doubtful we would be here otherwise.

[priforprince]

I suppose.

[ If one were to judge purely by the presence, and not the quality, of results. But this is hardly suitable conversation for meeting a lovely young lady.

So she smiles. ] It's provided one major blessing, at least.

[Still kind of oblivious over here.]

[ SHE TOOK THE CUE god Hibiki's good at this.

She places a hand over her heart. ] It allowed us to meet.

[ yesssss ]

Well, I do suppose creating new bonds is imperative for our success in this world.

[priforprince]

[ .... ]

You're a practical mademoiselle.

I...have been told many times that I am practical-minded.

[They seem to be getting along...?]

Discerning minds are exactly what we require.

[ Due to the aforementioned....yeah. ]
