In anticipation of the latest round of new arrivals, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.

Gods and shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. In that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the details of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.




God Training

Unfortunately, Bishamon is away on business today, but her shinki as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods will offer information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves receive as orientation when they arrive.

Shinki Training

Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline as well as offering a lecture on the basics of what is expected of a shinki and the importance of teamwork with other shinki and with gods. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.

Physical Training

The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) This is vital for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
It's also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.

Rest and Refreshments

There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

Y-yeah! Those big fuzzy dice! But, uh, you know those aren't really very useful for anything, they're just for decoration. You sure you want to relegate yourself to being a windshield ornament, dude?

But you can still roll them! They still do, you know, the dice thing! I mean, I'd rather not be in someone's car, yeah, but I don't wanna get lost in the couch either!

Well... has it ever happened before? Getting lost. I mean, if it hasn't, maybe you'll stay lucky and you'll never have to worry about it.

[Prompto, you pUT THIS IDEA IN HIS HEAD.]

It hasn't, but I've really only turned into dice once before...

[And it went fine, so he probably shouldn't worry at all, but he'd really like to stay in one piece. And if Tatara lost half of him, would he even work right? That would be the worst part, probably. He has his duties as a shinki, after all.]

My luck's pretty good, but you know how luck is.

[Luck is such a bogus stat it isn't even included in FFXV. Prompto puts one hand over his heart and the other on Sakon's shoulder, speaking solemnly.]

If you get lost, buddy, I will totally come over and look for you. Dusty couch undersides and all. It's the least I can do.

Awww, thanks! You're a pal!

[Sakon beams at him, panic momentarily set aside.]

I'll come find you if you're in a bunch of parts, too! Maybe not put you together if you're a puzzle or something, but...but I'll find the pieces!

I...I dunno, actually.

[He frowns slightly. You can see the wheels in his head turning and they're going nowhere fast.]

I never really asked. I wonder who'd know...

I like being in one piece! The only part of me that should ever come off is my hair when I get it cut, dude!

[They're both stupid. This is stupid. At least he's making friends...?]

I think if you switch gods and they give you a new name, you might get to be something else, but I don't think you get to choose what...

[He should probably know this, considering how many different gods he's served, but only one of them has ever put him in his vessel form, so...]

[But he felt so right going to Lucina. There was that connection, that feeling of, yes, this is where he belongs.]

I didn't think changing something like that would be easy. N-not that I want to! I like Lucina a lot!

It, uh...it happens...

[Sakon shifts around uncomfortably and scratches at the back of his head.

Oops. He told someone about it again.]

Don't worry about it, though! It might not! Really!

[He will definitely worry about it, but later. Definitely later. Totally not now.

...Yup.]

Is there any way to make sure I don't? Or is it just, like, decided for you the way we got decided today?

Um...

[Well, he's going to have to explain it somehow.]

Well, if you're happy where you are, you can stay, but...uh...

[He cringes a little.]

Sometimes gods don't stick around, you know? So then, you kinda...

[He waves his hands ineffectually.]

[It's too easy for his brain to fill in that blank. So then, you're kinda abandoned. Makes sense.]

Well... that's gods for you. Can't expect them to keep track of every little thing.

[As if they have a choice about whether or not they get dropped.]

What happens if you... don't buddy up with another god?

They assign you to someone new whenever it is that all the newbies show up. It's usually not long...

[Speaking from a lot of experience.]

Someone will let you crash with them until then! Like, you could stay with us if you wanted. It's just...people will give you a place to stay even when they aren't interested in taking you on as a shinki, so it, uh...kinda bums you out a little. Well, if you're like me. Some people are probably fine with it.

No, yeah, I feel you, dude.

[He rubs his arm, feeling vaguely unhappy and not really knowing why.]

I mean, it's great to know at least you're not totally left to suddenly fend for yourself, but... well, nobody wants to feel unwanted, right? [Prompto crosses his arms and sighs.] If we shinki are supposed to be helping gods, then... well, that's what I want to do.

[That does earn a smile.]

Right? It's a great feeling, you know? Being useful to someone.

Exactly! [He bumps Sakon's arm with his fist and nods firmly.] You get me. I want to earn my place, not weigh people down.

I'm sure you'll do great!

[He genuinely means it, too.]

And if stuff gets rough, I'm at Minerva's temple if you need a hand, okay?
