In anticipation of the latest round of new arrivals, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.

Gods and shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. In that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the details of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.

[She pushes herself up to stand, a little wobbly from the sudden shift.]

And if he truly talked that way, he - he cannot be any other Owain! Is he here?

Nope. Look... the guy was from when I was a shinki. But he left a bunch of voicemails, a lot of them thanking me for showing him how to use the phone. The number attached to it? Disconnected.

[Sorry about that.]

But he sounds like a good guy. Just.... long winded and went on and on about darkness and hands and swords...

[Is that something that can happen? Can shinki become gods? Can gods become shinki? Lucina has to steady herself a bit, looking down on the ground. She doesn't really understand the phone, or numbers being disconnected, but from the way he's talking, it sounds like Owain isn't here anymore. She swallows thickly.]

...Still...that does sound just like him. Exactly.

I know, it sounds weird. But I ain't the only one. Cho Hawkeye is in the same situation. [Hakkai. Not Hawkeye...] Or gods becoming shinki. Haven't met one of those, but it's not like they'll remember.

[Nari taps the front of his phone a few times, turning the screen on an off.]

I'm sorry. It sucks hearing a friend isn't here, but... if he was a shinki, he wouldn't have remembered you. Maybe this way is a lot nicer for both of ya.

...Cousin. He...is my cousin.

[Can she not think about the idea of her cousin, who she's certain was alive last she saw him, having to die and forget his whole life to be reborn as a shinki? Thanks.]

...... I can't even imagine that... I don't have family other than my parents and big sister, and I would't want to see any of them here.

[His sister being here would kill him the most.]

I...don't know how I should be feeling, to be honest.

[Who here could have known Owain? Were they still here? Or had all trace of him but these messages vanished with him?]

... relief. That might be the best feeling to go with. Relief that you don't see him here, him not knowing you, pretending you don't have to know him. I'd go with that.

...I suppose...that's for the best.

[But even so...he's her cousin. She still wants to know what happened to him here, what happened for him to come here at all.]

........... Promise me that you'll be kind to the shinki you meet. I don't think I liked being one. I don't get warm and fuzzy thinking about it. They're fate......... it's pretty cruel, in a way.

[There's a slow pause, and Lucina tilts her head juuuuuust slightly, as if unsure she heard him correctly.]

Why...would I not be kind? I don't understand. They are our partners, are they not? Perhaps not the same, but...at their cores...are we not all displaced from what we know?

Shinki are different in that.......... well, the dead thing. They know they are dead, but they don't talk about their deaths. Don't bring it up. So in a way you can treat them like your partners.... but with kiddie gloves, too. If you meet someone who knows about your shinki from before they died, don't, please, don't ask them about what they were like and so on. I've browsed the network including past posts and it's.... they can't learn things about their pasts. [He sounds a tad distressed.] Sometimes they learn on their own. No one knows why or how.

Oh - yes, I know that much. I won't say anything about it. [She'd already had the very upsetting experience of seeing her new perky buddy die at something she has no name for.] But...hm. I think...it would be a poor thing to ask others how they used to be, if they're not the same here. And I don't - I wouldn't want anything bad to happen to him.

[Prompto is so good, Nari. He's just. He exudes good. She can't let him get hurt.]

But I wouldn't want to treat a shinki as lesser because of that. It seems to me they put quite a lot on the line in that position, and...I want to respect that. Does that make sense?

[Hearing her talk like that does put him at ease. So, this was a god that he could see having a good relationship with their shinki. That's reassuring.]

It does.... you're a good person. [Whoever you are.]

[Eh...?]

Um...thank you? I don't see why that's especially worthy of note. I would do the same at home, and have done so.

You're gonna meet people here that aren't kind, aren't nice, but they pretend to be. You're going to meet people so self-centered you want to hit them. Then there's those who don't treat shinki as people, they treat them as objects.

[What he's trying to say is...] If you have a soft or weak heart, you might find it hard to remain a good person for long.

...I can't imagine myself following that sort of example.

[She knows better than to treat anyone as an object, even if they can transform into one.]

Worse trials have tried to best me. If I had fallen then, I would not be here now - and I don't plan on faltering.

[Such a good person... Please, don't ever break.]

I'll take your word for it, kiddo. If it gets too rough, there's plenty of people to go to for help.

[Even the apocalypse couldn't break Lucina. She'll be okay.]

I'm glad to hear it. Much of this realm is...out of my depth, but so far I have encountered many people who are happy to help. Already, I find myself very grateful.

We're all in the same boat, as gods or shinki. It's my home now, and I know I'm not the only one who thinks so. Who knows... you might start thinking it's home, too.

Hm. I...suppose I would not be adverse to the idea.

[Her world is safe, and there is likely no path to her time. The past was too small for two Princess Lucinas.]

I had no destination in mind before I found myself here.

No home either? Kinda sucks, don't it.

[It's a depressing thought.]

This place has its flaws. I have to learn how to read another language unless I wanna take a translator everywhere.

I made my peace with that when I first left. [She had no choice but to make her peace.] And if languages and words are all that might be troublesome, I suppose it could be worse.

............. It can get a lot worse.
