In anticipation of the latest round of new arrivals, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.
Gods and shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. In that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the details of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.

God Training
- Unfortunately, Bishamon is away on business today, but her shinki as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods will offer information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves receive as orientation when they arrive.
Shinki Training
- Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline as well as offering a lecture on the basics of what is expected of a shinki and the importance of teamwork with other shinki and with gods. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Physical Training
- The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) This is vital for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
It's also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.
Rest and Refreshments
- There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.
There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

In Summary:
- Get all the information you can handle
- Veteran new gods and shinki are welcome to volunteer showing the ropes
- Get in some training
- Don't get dehydrated
- Spectate if you want
- Have fun~

As he gets to the end of the next flowers woven in and starts to weave the ends of the crown together, he lets out a heavy hiss at the question.] They execute people who use them. I'd keep it around if it was just a threat to me, but I doubt they make a habit of leaving a god's shinki behind in those cases.
[So basically he's mainly looking out for his shinki in this case. With a slight shrug, he goes on.] I'm planning to decay it. It should get rid of it completely enough that anything left of it is going to be unidentifiable and useless.
no subject
[He takes a breath that may or may not be slightly ragged.] Shun. You said you had things to do— [No, wait... Shun's already said he won't keep it.] ...Don't treat threats to yourself so lightly.
[Leaving the shinki behind, huh...?]
I don't know how your decay works, but...what if it doesn't work?
no subject
Since Fubuki seems to have misunderstood his attitude there, Shun shakes his head at the remark.] That's not what I meant. Just that I would've considered the risk worth the potential payoff of more information to get rid of these things if my neck was the only one on the line. I've never taken a threat to myself lightly.
[And thankfully, Shun already has an answer to the other question, though he's fairly certain his decay will work.] Blessed fire. Certain shrines on the Near Shore keep one going, and people used them to get rid of the cursed objects that were going around the other week.
no subject
[Fubuki did misunderstand it, but the clarification may not be any better. He doesn't want Shun risking it at all, but that's...unreasonable. He knows that.]
Sounds like you've thought this through...
[Personal risk is unavoidable. That doesn't change just because Fubuki doesn't like it. Still...]
Guess it was pretty dangerous for us to take it in the first place. [And the fact that he'd been the one to verbalize taking it...] We never did find any clues about the controller, too...
no subject
There's a slight hum of agreement on the matter of it being dangerous to take in the first place, but Shun doesn't regret it at all, even if he's gotten precious little information.] I gave it to someone with spiritual powers to check, but he said all he could feel on it was the traces of the control spell. Nothing about who or what cast it. And Yukine mentioned an ayakashi has to be named to be controlled, so in theory it has to be a god.
[That idea still doesn't quite sit right with him, though, since it'd be opening the one doing the naming up to impossible amounts of blight.]
no subject
[In different circumstances he might wonder why simply having that mask (when they'd been the ones to take care of the masked ayakashi, to boot) makes it risky, but considering Shun's suspicions toward the flyers way back when, he can hazard a guess.]
And a god who became a shinki? Theoretically. [He knows that it can happen (albeit in reverse, but if it can happen the one way, then it can happen the other, right?), but he never got the details of what abilities were carried over, if any.]
[...As for why that possibility even popped into his head...he's going to not think too hard about that.]
But it makes sense... [Theoretically being a god, that is.] If they hid themselves that well, they might have teleported... [He'd been certain that the masked ayakashi must have been monitored, too, but maybe not...?]
no subject
[He knows Hakkai is one as well, he's just not mentioning him because they don't exactly get on swimmingly.
Fubuki's guess makes Shun shake his head.] I've met at least one god who became a shinki, and they don't seem to retain the ability to name things. He's been here a while now, I doubt it wouldn't have come up.
[He hasn't exactly kept in contact with Tsuzuki much, but people tend to blare that sort of thing out across the network.]
Maybe. Or maybe the spell itself directs them without the controller having to be near. It's hard to say with so little information.
no subject
That narrows it down... [Kind of.]
Was there anything else? [It's not like Fubuki's preparations amount to much, considering he doesn't know techniques for protecting the temple and whatnot, but at the very least, he doesn't want to be surprised. Surprise is the forefront of an ambush...something like that.]
no subject
Not much. He mentioned it was a "curse", or considered one by most people, and that his god - Yato - was going to be looking into it. And he mentioned that thing we found it hovering around is called a "vent", and it probably led to Yomi. [Which explains the death smell. Shun has no real interest in venturing to the underworld.]
no subject
[...Was it really alright for shinki to be hanging around there...? And he thought the only danger came from the mask itself... (Does that explain why he didn't like looking at the fireflies vent when they were trying to clear it out? Who knows... He was fine with the one the masked ayakashi was hovering over... Best not to think too hard about that, though.)]
A curse to name the ayakashi, or that the ayakashi is cursed...? [He's not sure why he feels the distinction is important, himself. Just that it is, somehow.]
no subject
After a moment, Shun just shakes his head.] It might be that we can't get any more information until another one shows up. It sounds like the energy of the mask isn't going to offer much of it.
no subject
[No matter how you slice it, ayakashi are cursed already, aren't they?]
Too bad we can't ask them directly.
[...]
[Well that sure was a silence that he lapsed into.]
Shun... [He unfolds his arms.] ...When did you learn how to braid flowers?
no subject
There's a slight shrug at the question that follows, as if it isn't important.] Someone taught me the day I cut those flowers out of my garden and needed to get rid of the excess.
[So only about two weeks after he took Fubuki in, in other words.]
no subject
Huh. [In other words, Shun was having fun? He can't help a little chuckle at that revelation, but he knows from all the other times that Shun gets defensive if Fubuki harps on it, so he turns it into a cough.]
[He does turn around to face Shun again.] Why all the way out here?
no subject
It's quieter out here. And less people come out this far. Most of them are content hovering around the water table.
[Because that's definitely the only thing on the refreshments table.]
no subject
...I don't know if they're "hovering," exactly... Maybe nerves. Do you remember what it was like when you first got here?
no subject
The subject of Shun's arrival gets a faint snort, though.] When I showed up, there was a school cursed with lethargy and sickness to deal with. We got thrown straight into it, and I've always been an adaptable person.
no subject
Well, my point is, everyone has to start somewhere to find a friendly face. Or allies. [...Something like that.]
—Well, anyway, it's a miracle I found you. But I should head back. [He has no objection to people clustering around refreshments, after all. Haha.]
no subject
Regardless, he's not going to stop him from leaving, so he just nods slightly, picking up another few flowers.] Go ahead.
