In anticipation of the latest round of new arrivals, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.

Gods and shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. In that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the details of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.




God Training

Unfortunately, Bishamon is away on business today, but her shinki as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods will offer information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves receive as orientation when they arrive.

Shinki Training

Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline as well as offering a lecture on the basics of what is expected of a shinki and the importance of teamwork with other shinki and with gods. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.

Physical Training

The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) This is vital for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
It's also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.

Rest and Refreshments

There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

Sure. See-- she's actually the patron of Mount Fuji, so.

[Cherry blossoms and evanescent beauty, and the mountain behind them! It makes sense.

So maybe it's a little incongruous, but it works for her, too: she's got a temper, and Tsuzuki's seen her get mad. Only once, but he remembers.]

[Okay: he's got to be from another world. Everyone knows about Fuji, right?

Everyone except this guy. Tsuzuki pulls his phone out and scowls intensely at it as he manages an image search. There. Volcanoes and cherry blossoms.]

It's pretty famous!

[Prompto leans over to peer at the screen, then straightens up on the balls of his feet, eyes wide.]

Oh, whoa-ho! I'd love to get me a load of that view in person! Oh man, the lighting there must be incredible!

It's a great view. You should go sometime! I mean, it's the wrong season for sakura, but it's still worth seeing.

[Lighting? Tsuzuki essays, curiously:] -- Do you like art?

Art? Uh. I... don't know.

[He crosses his arm, putting his head to one side as he thinks about it.]

I... think I like looking at cool things. New sights, beautiful scenery... things like that. That sounds right.

Oh, yeah?

[That sounds like a pretty great hobby. Tsuzuki breaks into a cheerful grin.]

Nice. There's a lot of great scenery in Japan! You should get your god to help you look around. It's not just Fuji.

Oh, man, that would be so sweet!

[Prompto makes a fist and pulls it in towards his chest, grinning. So sweet.]

I'm totally gonna ask her once we get settled in! It could be like a road trip! A god should get to know the land they're god of, anyway, right? Aw, I can hardly wait!

[sweetdeath]

Yeah, absolutely! And you -- uh, I mean, she should check out Kyoto, too! And the view of the sea from Nagasaki's amazing....

I bet you can still catch some fireworks displays before summer's over.

[Tsuzuki's brightening more and more as he lists off great sights. This sounds like fun. He wonders if he can talk Sakura into a road trip for the last weeks of summer too.]

Oh man, I should write all this down... uh, hang on, I'm sure there's a note-taking app for that phone they gave us...

[Out comes his own phone, and Prompto quickly begins one-thumb typing.]

'Places... to visit...' [He speaks slowly as he types, then looks up.] How do you spell... uh, anything you just said? Heheh.

Oh, Kyoto's pretty easy, it's written like "capital," then "metropolis."

[Tsuzuki starts tracing the characters in the air, then pauses, and looks up at the other guy (the other blond guy, who might be speaking Japanese but whose name kind of is not Japanese at all.)]

... Uh, can you read kanji?

[Maybe he should have asked that first.]

[He blinks at him for a second, then nods and tilts his head slightly.]

I mean, all the usual ones, yeah. I think.

[His friends' names are all in Latin, a third of the cast randomly has British accents with no regional pattern, his hometown's street signs are in both English and Japanese, why is Final Fantasy XV like this. Prompto types 京都 into his phone and shows Tsuzuki.]

Like that?

[JRPG languages are suffering.

Tsuzuki leans over and grins cheerfully at the sight, brightening up again. Okay, his Japanese is fine.]

Yeah, like that! And here's Nagasaki...

[He types out a couple more particularly scenic spots on his phone's text app and turns the screen to Prompto.]

Uh-huh...

[Typity type. Prompto copies the names into his little text file and beams at Tsuzuki.]

Thanks! I'll definitely show this to Lucina. And if we go and take any cool pictures, I'll make sure to show them off!

You should! I'd love to see them.

[Tsuzuki grins back as he tucks his phone into his pocket.]

Hey -- wanna try that line again? Just to see.

[Since he's been thinking about plans with his goddess, and that kind of thing...]

Huh? Oh, uh, sure.

[He pauses, switching gears, then puts his phone away, takes a deep breath, and draws his fingers determinedly through the air.]

Line!

[He says it with more confidence this time, and maybe he almost has it, but--nope. Not today, at least. But he just breathes out and shakes his head with a good-natured smile.]

It's okay. I'll get it next time!

[Even if he hasn't got it down yet, his attitude surrounding the borderline issue's improved, at least.]

I bet you will.

[He's getting some confidence, and that's the other important part of casting a borderline, Tsuzuki thinks with a smile.]

Anyway -- it's been nice meeting you! I should let you practice.

[Prompto may have started this day terrified and nervous, but with all the support he's gotten from all the other shinki and gods around, he actually feels like this is bound to be a good time.]
