In anticipation of the latest round of new arrivals, Heaven has partnered with the new gods and shinki to organize a very helpful informational reception.

Gods and shinki arriving at heaven's meeting hall are, should they allow it, guided kindly towards Bishamon's temple. In that vast complex they are brought to a traditional-style dojo. The gods and shinki are free to take their time during this day to learn about the details of their new life from Amaterasu's shinki or from the many veteran new god and shinki volunteers.




God Training

Unfortunately, Bishamon is away on business today, but her shinki as well as Amaterasu's ever-present shinki and any volunteering gods will offer information regarding being a god and what is expected of them, such as prayers. It is encouraged that gods group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.
Newly arrived gods are still expected to communicate to their shinki the information* they themselves receive as orientation when they arrive.

Shinki Training

Various volunteers are stationed around the building, passing out helpful informational pamphlets. There are many shinki, including Bishamon's and Amaterasu's, who will be more than happy to train in using the borderline as well as offering a lecture on the basics of what is expected of a shinki and the importance of teamwork with other shinki and with gods. It is encouraged that shinki group up together to practice what they've learned and discuss their ideologies.

Physical Training

The dojo is stocked with a wide variety of practice weapons, traditional and modern. There are volunteers here as well, willing to assist in basic training. (Or even more advanced sparring, depending on the volunteer.) This is vital for gods who, for example, find themselves with a sword shinki but are at risk of cutting off their own toes.
It's also useful for veteran new gods wishing to train with their current partner shinki.

Rest and Refreshments

There is a garden off the dojo that is free to be used for rest and conversation.
Should anyone wander outside the designated area, some shinki of Bishamon's will attach themselves to them and not leave them be until they return to the dojo.

There is a refreshments table provided. It is covered with light snacks and various kinds of hydrating drinks. There is a little sitting area set up for people to relax in after they have finished their training or if they're just taking a quick break to cool down. Even hand towels are provided by Bishamon's helpful shinki. The Heavens wants everyone to stay in good condition!

Well that is a way to test endurance; I cannot say that I was never in that position. But the spirits were much weaker than what is in your bottle but it did help.

Have you considered this drink called firewhiskey? It has a bit of a sweet kick but I have found it quite potent. But I would recommend having a comrade with you or staying home as you drink it.

I haven't. But if you have a bottle, I will share it with a dear friend.

[Well, that term can mean one thing but would it be the same as how Aymeric uses it? He only uses 'dear' for those he is close with; friends he can depend on and can share his secrets without fear are 'dear friends'. And then there is his 'dear one'...]

Of course, I keep them at my temple in the cellar. Does your dear friend enjoy other spirits as well? I do know of a shop in Heligoland that has good quality alcohol for very reasonable pricing.

He enjoys drinking anything. He's quite the lush, I've found.

But are they worth the lower price? I would rather spend more money on something worth the time.

Just because something is considered inexpensive does not mean that it is cheaply made. From what I could gather, the island has something referred as a 'tax-exempt status'. But I rather let the taste do the speaking rather than myself.

[So you know when you have to pay a lot of tax for booze? Well, not this place. Hence, cheaper alcohol. And smokes. And food.]

Technically, if it is inexpensive, it's either made with inferior products or the company is going out of business.

[Of course, he steals all his booze and he generally steals the best shit.]

To each his own I suppose. I do recall one time when I had acquired a bottle of brandy from one of the finest liquormakers within the realm. Everyone would have given a small fortune to have a taste of it...but to my surprise that it tasted as if it passed through a dragon's bowels.

Tis a pity, all that work and prestige and yet created an inferior product. Not all are like it mind you but I am more personally openminded to various kinds.

Hm. Well, I have yet to experience that. Though, I am curious how you would know what that tasted like.

Though, I am mostly fond of what my friend decides to buy.

[He let out a chuckle, leaning forward to look at him properly.]

So. You're familiar with Leo?

Of course, he was the first whom I had met in this realm and grown closer to since.

I can tell. You both seem very fond of each other. And very close.

Hmm, those here would say 'boyfriend' but I am not fond of the term myself.

That's... unusual to hear. What's the problem with the term?

Well, does it not sound what it means? Anyone can be a friend and male; would it not be hard to tell that the one whom it is for more than that? And I abhor the term lover due to the meaning where I hail from: that they are meant to stay hidden, a secret, a stain that is not meant to be, a betrayal of sorts.

Hence 'dearest one' because that is how I feel about Leo. He is more than a comrade nor how I feel about him should be hidden. Nay, we are quiet only if asked in which we do not mind speaking of it. Although before some attempted to pry more.

...I suppose I can see where it's coming from. Certainly, I agree about the word 'lover'. I've been called it once, and I wish to never again. If, however, it's something that you and Leo both agree on, I suppose I don't have much in the way to say.

You'll have to understand that I will pry. But it's only for the sake of my lord. But consider it my seal that I'm satisfied with you and Leo, if I pry so much.

I must admit that this is a first; most would do the act not to protect a friend but rather fuel their own ambitions and goals.

Nor have I had someone admit that they would do so. Tis almost welcoming...but I appreciate the honesty.

My goal is, of course, to make sure Leo's life is happy and satisfying. So it could be considered both.

[He smiles at that.]

Myself and Leo are both known for our honesty. But I'm sure you know that Leo's far more blunt than I am.
